* DoubleTake: As Chloe takes a walk through the campsite, she muses how nice it'd be to have stories around the fire...before realizing that ''there's a fire in the forest''.

* {{Irony}}: Akemi muses that for a girl who was once bullied and never noticed, after her return Chloe became the gossip amongst former students of Vermillion International School.

* ShoutOut: The fact that there was a poetry slam in the Baking Soda Volcanoes Car is a reference to ''WesternAnimation/PhineasAndFerb'' where Dr. Doofenschmirtz apparently lost a poetry slam to one of these volcanoes.

* ArmorPiercingQuestion: When Atticus explains that he is king because of how he takes the responsibilities to rule over Corginia, Oliver brings up this point.

** Oliver argues that their responsibilities do ''not'' extend beyond Corginia -- what happens on the rest of the Train isn't on them. Atticus has already left his people behind ''twice'', and his adventures could have led to him meeting a grim fate... and leaving Corginia leaderless.

* BothSidesHaveAPoint: Atticus and Oliver have good points when it comes to the ruling of Corginia. Oliver points out that what happens on the Train isn't on them and that Atticus already left the car ''twice'' -- one to stop the Shadow Monster and one to uncover what happened to King Aloysius -- along with wondering if it's wrong to indulge in some luxuries every once in a while. Whereas Atticus remarks that he's leaving the Train was for the good of Corginia and the Train itself and that being king is about responsibilities, not perks. In the end, Oliver concedes that ruling a kingdom is not like making a play and gives Atticus back the throne while Atticus does point out that Oliver made good points on him leaving Corginia many times.

* TheReasonYouSuckSpeech: Chloe shuts Annie trying to point out that the fire is Ash's fault by stating that all Annie wants is the satisfaction to be better than Ash instead of the dangers of a fire that ''could have killed a dozen children''.

Chloe points out that Annie could care ''less'' that a forest fire could have potentially killed a dozen kids than she is more focused on framing Ash on his "Hero Syndrome" before pointing out that, perhaps, she'll only care about the kids if they're dead ''so that her daughter's funerary business gets noticed''.
