** There are a couple of hints early on that "Johnny Frost" isn't really there. The most obvious one is his repeated misreporting of the weather. It's the same incorrect report every single time. There's also the scene where Liv requests his help climbing through a window and he refuses. His excuse is a rotator cuff injury, but in retrospect, it's actually because he wouldn't be able to touch her.
** Similarly, there are clues that Liv isn't interacting with the real Major: he wants to watch ''Theatre/{{Harvey}}'' for movie night, and is such a perfect houseguest that he folds up all his bedding in exactly the state Liv left it in.

* RedHerring: Twofold. Soon after Liv eats Scott's brain, she hears a voice, which turns out to be that of a little devil on a packet of junkfood. So we're going into haha-funny-hallucinations, with only a little side-order of creepy when her detective friend sees her argue with a snack vendor. Nope - those are only distracting you from the ''real'' hallucinations, which are a) Johnny Frost appearing by her side (still comical) and b) her imagining patching things up with Major (with an utterly tear-jerking reveal afterwards).

* WhatHaveIBecome: When Liv finally opens up Scott E.'s phone, she finally sees how she looks in Full-On Zombie Mode.

* SmallAnnoyingCreature: The Devil.

* RedHerring: The devil hallucinations, to distract from the ''real'' hallucinations.
