Upoen arriving in Don's apartment, Marshall and Lily observe that Don also has twin beds, but are surprised to discover that sleeping on separate beds was the reason Don and his ex-wife's marriage eventually failed and resulted in a divorce. Barney, in a bid to outdo Don and impress Robin, first eats a jalapeno, and when this fails, switches to Wasabi. Ted wound up having to take him to his apartment.

Don ''Don and Robin plan to move in together, prompting Ted and Barney to realize neither is over Robin yet. Marshall and Lily realize they enjoy sleeping in separate beds. \n''

Later, both Barney and Ted started to drunk-dial Robin, later winding up into Don's apartment just before the two were about to leave for work, asking her to get back together. Robin is visibly embarrassed, but Don took it in stride and made them sleep it off at the couch, and later at the twin beds in Don's room.

Back at the apartment, Ted, annoyed once again at Robin for leaving the empty milk carton at the fridge, storms into her room to tell her off, only to walk into a completely empty room: Robin has already moved in with Don and took all her things with her; [[WhatDoYouMeanItsNotSymbolic all that's left behind is the blue french horn that Ted stole for her on their first date]].
