* DoesThisRemindYouOfAnything: Moxxie tries to [[WinHerAPrize win Millie a prize]] in a carnival game that involves shooting a target on an apple's butt, proudly brandishes the toy gun and hits a bull's eye on the first try, thrilling Millie... only for the carnie running it to [[{{Jerkass}} claim he lost since the target didn't go down]].

* SkewedPriorities: PlayedWith in terms of how Stella viewed Stolas cheating on her. She's mad enough about the deed itself, but it sounds more like she's ''royally pissed'' over the fact that he did so with what she sees as a ''lower class'' demon (in this case, an imp like Blitzo). In their own bed, no less. Her rage is taken UpToEleven during this exchange:

* UnnecessarilyCreepyRobot: Robo Fizz and the other animatronics range from creepy to downright terrifying, likely due to their lack of maintenance. Cranked UpToEleven when on fire.

* AbusiveParents: [[DownplayedTrope Downplayed]], but in this case abusive parents and brother. When the older son of the family ([[RunningGag which constantly gets caught up in the protagonists' shenanigans in this episode]]) gets burning "thing" landing on the his head, his father [[MisplacedRetribution scolding him]] and his mother and baby brother looks at him in dissaproval. Why [[DownplayedTrope downplayed]]? * ShooOutTheClowns: Blitzo, Millie, and Moxxie are absent when Stolas and Octavia have a serious heart to heart talk about their family issues in the Fun House ride. This is weirdly literal when you consider that the zanier parts of the episode (Blitzo duking it out with a RobotClown, Millie and Moxxie are riding on the attraction (and Moxxie vomits as a result) and Moxxie vs a rigged shooting gallery with a {{Jerkass}} vendor).

* WillfullyWeak: Stolas didn't do anything with thugs so he can flirting with Blitzo. The moment when he goes out of park with Octavia, he [[TakenForGranite turned one of the imps to stone]] and he and Octavia don't get a single scratch.
* WorthIt: When Moxxie calls out Blizto for unnecessarily escalating their assignment, the latter says this after burning down Loo Loo Land while trying to destroy Robo Fizz, claiming that the "slutty toy clown" had it coming.

** For Stolas, a deteriorating marriage is stressful enough all on its own, but it's all the worse when you've got a kid caught up in the middle of it. And it doesn't get any better when your well-meaning-yet-misguided attempts to help cheer them up make them even ''more'' miserable. And it ''definitely'' doesn't help when said kid runs off into a place where others might be trying to hurt them, or you.
** And from Stella's side of things, finding out that your husband has not only been unfaithful but has potentially ruined your family's reputation by having his partner accidentally cause an embarrassing scene (assuming this takes place shortly after the pilot episode) is considerable grounds for the kind of anger we see from her.
** And from ''[[RuleOfThree Octavia's]]'' perspective, your parents fighting is a huge one. Especially if you're afraid that the parent you're closer to might leave your family with their new paramour, leaving you alone.

** The parents of one of the families at Loo Loo Land bare a strong resemblance to [[Franchise/HarryPotter Vernon and Petunia Dursley]], and the British-accented father even berates his eldest son in as cruel a manner as Vernon would to Harry.

* TechnicolorFire: Literal hell fire is seen in this episode thanks to an "inconveniently placed" cart of torches whose fire is a bright green.

* BittersweetEnding: In a symbolic gesture representing Octavia's lost innocence, Loo Loo Land burns down as a direct result of Blitzo and Robo Fizz's fight. Octavia also realizes that her parents' marriage has all but disintegrated (and that they likely never loved each other in the first place), but she and Stolas have reconciled and are now closer than they've ever been.

* RuleOfSymbolism: During AMinorKidroduction, Stolas reassures a distraught Octavia that he'll never leave her, and uses his grimoire to demonstrate that even if the universe itself dies he'd never be far away. Surprisingly, this comforts little Octavia. When the episode proper starts, Octavia listens to a song called, "My World is Burning Down Around Me" to drown out her parents fighting about her father's infidelity. At the end of the episode, [[InnocenceLost her favorite childhood theme park]] literally burns down around her, thanks to (appropriately enough) her father's paramour's antics. However, Octavia is completely fine with it since her father just reassured her that he would ''never'' abandon her. In other words: Stolas means the world to Octavia, and she's just fine with the world burning down around her as long as her father is there.
