They're also implied to be his, since during her tirade Stella screams about how sick she is of him and his [[NoIndoorVoice "USELESS STINKING PLANTS!"]]
* CantSpitItOut: Stolas is unable to find the words for Octavia to explain, or excuse, his actions with Blitzo or his situation with his wife Stella. He at least tells her this.

* DarkAndTroubledPast: Blitzo's implied to have one in this episode - Robo Fizz's dialogue with him suggests that he used to work at the circus, but didn't have much success or adoration from the crowd.

* DullSurprise: When he's trying to find his daughter in the funhouse, he's more annoyed than distressed when an imp tries to knock him out. {{Justified}}, as Stolas is more than powerful enough to cast off his assailant, and only brought along I.M.P to both take care of unwelcome interruptions while trying to cheer up Octavia and also flirt with Blitzo.

* EvenEvilHasLovedOnes: While the series has established Stolas as nothing more than a pervert and... well, ''a demon'', here we see that while his marriage is on the rocks, he legitimately loves his daughter and would do anything for her...
* EvenEvilHasStandards: ...and because of this, he becomes visibly disturbed at the idea of getting Octavia involved with his affair, quickly clarifying his request when Blitzo implies it over the phone.
** In more of a professionalism sense, Blitzo reminds Stolas that his agency is devoted to assassination, not protection, so they can't accept his bodyguard request unless "someone's gonna die". Luckily, while he accepts the job anyway with the promise of [monetary] payment, he and the other imps get their chance to kill those who are after Stolas, staying within their policy.

* ExpressiveAccessory: The Loo-Loo hat that Stolas picks up upon arriving at the theme park reflects his expressions to an extent, eventually becoming very sad when he discards it.

* FurryReminder: Stolas is physically much smaller and lither than Stella, which is true of most owls. A FreezeFrameBonus also shows mice in the fridge.
** Also like owls, Stolas can turn his head 180 degrees.
* GenkiGirl: Millie is over-the-moon over visiting Loo Loo Land again after so many years.

* HenpeckedHusband: Stolas is implied to be this. He's physically much smaller and lither than Stella, in the few scenes they're together she's shown to be more brash and domineering, since in the [[AMinorKidroduction kidroduction]] she leaves him to comfort their daughter, and in the present... [[WomanScorned well]].
* HiddenDepths: Who would have thought that the StalkerWithACrush from the pilot would turn out to be a [[GoodParents well-meaning, caring father]]?

* HypocriticalHumor:
** When Octavia and Blitzo both drop F-bombs over what he called the latter -- "big dicked Blitzie" -- he chides them for using such language. Just a minute before, he'd called Blitzo "the only man who can fuck" him.
** Robo Fizz, during his song, insists that there's no copyright infringement at Loo Loo Land... right before shamelessly ripping off "Inside of Every Demon is a Rainbow".

* MarriageOfConvenience: Stolas is at a loss for words as he tries to tell his distraught daughter that her parents never loved each other to begin with.

* MeaningfulRename: Blitzo reveals that he ''used'' to pronounce his name as spelled, the silent "o" being a recent development since he quit being a circus performer. Which makes sense, as "Blitzo" as spelled sounds very much like a clown's name and he's trying to distance himself from that world.

* ParentsAsPeople: Even leaving the whole "cheating-on-his-wife" angle out of it, Stolas doesn't (initially) understand that what made his daughter happy when she was five may not apply anymore. To his credit, however, he's quick to make up for this once he realizes it.

* ParentalNeglect:
** Stella, in contrast to her husband, leaves comforting a distraught Octavia to him in the past. In the present, she doesn't seem to realize (or, perhaps, ''care'') that her daughter's walking into the room while she's screaming at her husband.
** Stolas served as this in the middle of the episode, when he started spending more time flirting and complimenting Blitzo than spending time with Octavia as intended.
* PetTheDog: After the group arrives at Loo Loo Land, Blitzo offers to take the first shift so Moxxie and Millie can enjoy themselves at the park. Later, he asks them to see to Stolas's safety while he fights Robo Fizz.

* RobotClown: Both Fizzarolli and Robo Fizz qualify and combine this with MonsterClown, considering they are the main attraction of a theme park in Hell. Not to mention Octavia was ''terrified'' of Fizz as a child.

* TakenForGranite: Stolas does this to a demon who tries to mug him and Octavia at the end.

* TraumaButton: Downplayed. While Stolas remembers Octavia crying "{{tears of joy}}" at [[MonsterClown Fizzarolli]], the {{Flashback}} shows a five year-old Octavia actually cowering in fear of it. When she isn't afraid of him ''now'', instead she just hates him.
* TroubledTeen: Her parents' dysfunctional marriage had done a real number on Octavia, enduring their fighting in the morning as though it was a regular thing. By the end, she confesses that she's worried that Stolas's affair would have him leave and she would never see him again.

* UsedToBeASweetChild: As an owlet, Octavia used to have a strong relationship with her father. But as a teen, she's sullen and edgy, and makes no attempts to hide her resentment towards Stolas for cheating on his wife with an imp. She's also afraid that her father will abandon her for him.

* WomanScorned: Stella does not take the news that her husband cheated on her with an imp (in their bed) well ''at all''.

* CastingGag: Loo-Loo the mascot is voiced by Maxwell Atoms, creator of ''WesternAnimation/TheGrimAdventuresOfBillyAndMandy'', who was cast specifically because he would be mostly interacting with Moxxie. ''Creator/RichardHorvitz'' would not learn who voiced that character until Vivziepop pointed out during a live panel that she cast him specifically for that gag with him.

* AnAesop: If your child is going through a hard time, don't try to distract them from it by appealing to their nostalgia. If anything, you might be making it worse by reminding him of about how bad they have it now compared to the past. Talk to them about it.

* {{Foreshadowing}}: Via was using a song called "My World is Burning Down Around Me" to drown off her parents' fighting, at the end her world did burn down in the form of Loo Loo Land, her childhood favorite place.

* GeniusBonus: The constellation of Taurus can be seen in the background while Stolas and Via are in space.

* ScifiWritersHaveNoSenseOfScale: In the opening song, the solar system being destroyed has its planets hurl itself at the local star almost simultaneously, as if [[ConvenientlyClosePlanet all the planets were slowed down in the star's vicinity]] before rushing in when assembled. Planets in a solar system are too very far from each other from that to happen. Not only that, stars themselves are ''huge''. Even if Stolas used the smallest star in the universe like a red or brown dwarf, it would be the equivalent of dropping a pebble into a lake.

* AbhorrentAdmirer: The sleazy carnival employee running a prize-winning game tries to hit on Millie after humiliating Moxxie, but Millie is not at all flattered, and is actually disturbed by his advances. He loses his chance after becoming a casulty in Blitzo and Robo Fizz's fight.
