* HiddenDepths:
** Turner is apparently good enough at plate-spinning that he does it for his talent show act.
** Mr. Lopart mentions having been group leader in the Sheet Rock Hills boys' choir for two years running as a kid, although given how he sings now either his skills have long since decayed or he just made that up.

* EverythingIsAnInstrument: Pat's act in the talent show involves him doing a "drum solo" on a plastic bucket (the same plastic bucket he played in "Shine Bright" in fact), two cardboard boxes, and a juice box.

Talent Show

There's going to be a talent show, and Manny's tools are all set to perform- but when they go to the auditorium to practice their acts, they discover that the piano there has mysteriously developed a bad key- and, if the piano doesn't work, Mrs. Hillary might not be able to hold the talent show.

!!"Talent Show" provides examples of:
* ArtisticLicenseMusic: Manny tears out some of the strings of a piano in order to reach a toy mouse that had fallen inside it (long story), and is somehow able to replace them without needing to retune them as well.
* BlatantLies: Mr. Lopart repeatedly claims that his "singing" only sounds bad because it's missing piano accompaniment, very definitely.
* CartoonJuggling: Kelly's act for the talent show involves her juggling this way, using the shower methon.
* ContinuityNod:
** Three of the tools' acts in the talent show are this- Dusty dances ballet, Squeeze does magic tricks, while Pat does a drum solo on a bucket.
** Rusty is scared by a toy mouse, just like he was in "Kitty Sitting".
* DeadpanSnarker: Felipe engages in this when Mr. Lopart tries to sing while accompanying himself on a piano with a broken key.
-->Mr. Lopart: That doesn't sound right.\\
Felipe: That's for sure.
* DreadfulMusician: Mr. Lopart's piano playing is just as bad as his singing.
* EekAMouse: Rusty is scared by Fluffy's toy mouse (which found its way into the piano at the auditorium through complicated circumstances).
* EverythingIsAnInstrument: Pat's act in the talent show involves him doing a "drum solo" on a plastic bucket (the same plastic bucket he played in "Shine Bright" in fact), two cardboard boxes, and a juice box.
* HollywoodToneDeaf: Felipe practicing singing "De Colores" in the opening sounds... a bit questionable, although it pales in comparison to Mr. Lopart's awful rendition of "My Fluffy Lies Over The Ocean". Oddly, both of them actually sing fairly well when performing in the actual talent show.
* ImOkay: Pat says this after he gets overexcited while practicing his drumming and falls off the table.
* PublicDomainSoundtrack: Both of the characters whose acts in the titular talent show involve singing conveniently choose public-domain songs to perform- Felipe sings the Spanish folk song "De Colores", while Mr. Lopart does a version of "My Bonnie Lies Over The Ocean" with the lyrics changed to be about Fluffy.
* PullARabbitOutOfMyHat: Squeeze's magic act involves making Rusty appear out of a top hat.
* TalentContest: Mrs. Hillary is holding one, and the tools, Mr. Lopart, and Kelly all want to perform in it- Felipe will sing "De Colores", Turner will do some plate-spinning, Squeeze will perform a magic act, Dusty will dance ballet, Stretch will do some "gymnastics", Pat will perform a drum solo, Mr. Lopart will sing "My Fluffy Lies Over The Ocean", and Kelly will juggle.
* TertiarySexualCharacteristics: Once again, Dusty, despite normally lacking these, spontaneously manifests a pair of eyelashes while dressed as a ballerina.
* WeSellEverything: Kelly's hardware store apparently sells piano parts.

Abuelito's Yard Sale

Abuelito is having a yard sale, and Manny and the tools agree to help him manage it- unfortunately, in their eagerness to sell things, the tools accidentally sell Abuelito's prized rocking chair- which was [=NOT=] for sale.

!!Tropes in "Abuelito's Yard Sale" include:
* BizarreAndImprobableGolfGame: In the episode's opening, the tools are trying to play a game of "indoor golf", with the "hole" being a cup held by Stretch. Rusty is the first to take a "swing" at the ball, and it rolls towards the hole, hits Stretch in the face, and rolls right back to where he hit it from. Then Dusty tries to hit the ball, and the exact same thing happens.
* ContinuityNod:
** Among the items Abuelito sells at his yard sale are a copy of the same puzzle the tools were trying to put together in "Renaldo's Pretzel Castle", and a copy of "Great Tools Of The World".
** While trying to sell various items of headwear to patrons of the yardsale, Felipe briefly dons a baby bonnet identical to the one Leela put on Turner.
* DeusExScuseMe: Abuelito leaves the yardsale and goes inside to look for... something, leaving the tools unsupervised- without him to tell them not to, they sell a rocking chair that was not supposed to be for sale to Mr. Lopart.
* FictionalDocument: Abuelito has a storybook about a boy and his dog which he apparently used to read to Manny when the latter was a young boy.
* FlashbackEffects: A ripple effect begins a flashback of Abuelito sitting in his rocking chair, reading to a young Manny.
* GarageSale: Abuelito is holding one, and he asks for Manny's help managing it- while trying to help out, the tools accidentally sell his prized rocking chair (which he'd brought out to the sale only so he could have somewhere to sit) to Mr. Lopart.
* GooGooGetup: While trying to sell headwear, Felipe briefly dons a baby bonnet, as a subtle ContinuityNod to that time Turner was forced to wear one.
* NeedleworkIsForOldPeople: The elderly Mrs. Lopart is shown to enjoy knitting.
* OnceUponATime: This is how the storybook Abuelito used to read to Manny when the latter was a boy starts.
