Welcome to another tribute episode, this time celebrating not an act, but an album, Music/FleetwoodMac's seminal 1977 classic, ''Music/{{Rumours}}''. And this isn't just about the songs, as rumors will set the tone for the proceedings, which start with the debut of Brittany's signature WebVideo, "Fondue For Two", where the questions are hot, as is the questionable cheese. Brit's guests are Mercedes and Tina, and rumors are the topic. After some nominal ones, such as a confirmation that Mike Chang subverts the usual stereotype of Asian men[[note]]Which for the record, is that they possess small genitals; thusly, Mike you stud.[[/note]], we see Brit-Brit casually mention a "rumor" that Santana plays for the other team, and confirms it. The gleeks immediately detect a BaitAndSwitch, as Brit-Brit wouldn't be so cruel as to publicly out the girl she's in love with. [[spoiler: Another ND member on the other hand...]] Mercedes and Tina's promptly drop jaws as we hear a meow and...

Ladies and gentleman, we present royalty. Behold the first appearance of Glee's unsung hero. The Myth. The Legend. The Icon. Lord. Fucking. Tubbington. Glee has now gotten infinitely classier.

After we see his Lordship partake in the fondue due to his Atlas diet, we hit the TitleCard. Cut to Rachel approaching Sam[[spoiler:, and thus we again spoiler tag HilariousInHindsight due to a very annoying case of PairTheSpares come Season 6]]; after a second-hand Santana diss, she offers chapstick and herself for the junior prom. Sam declines, and we'll see why later on. Cut to Terri at the Lima Bean, accompanied by Sue in her finest Music/DavidBowie camo. They're in "enemy territory", Sue setting up the crux of the episode by mentioning Wikileaks, saying she's resurrecting the defunct [=McKinley=] paper, ''The Muckraker''. We then cut to her assembling a team to run it, namely the former Heckling Club from two episodes ago, plus Brittany. The idea is simple: Make it no better than your basic tabloid. Cut back to the Lima Bean where Sue's pulled a costume change, namely Ann Coulter. Terri, who, we need to remind you is insane, makes Sue a suggestion; Sue is always trying to destroy Will from inside, whereas Terri has a plan to get him ''out''.

Cut to Will's office where yes folks, it's time for another trip down the back Rhodes. April arrives, evidently all-white performance of Theatre/TheWiz was a flop, but the humiliation motivated her. Instead of other ideas, April wants to do ''Cross Rhodes: The April Rhodes Story''. Thing is, the money her billionaire sugar daddy's wife gave her is almost gone, so she needs the auditorium. Will is flummoxed as we cut to Rachel at Finn's locker, asking for him to do a duet with her at Nationals. Finn[[spoiler:, accurately as it turns out,]] doesn't think it's a good idea, saying Quinn might get jealous. No Finn, Dear Lucy would be spending all her time pining over your ex. Rachel then produces a copy of the Muckraker which has a blind item states "What prom queen candidate is spending a lot of time in the closet?" Finn, simple boy that he is, takes it literally, saying Q's claustrophobic. Rachel, after revealing that the item applied not to Lucy (heh) but to Santana, [[spoiler: and future events will see that she should've stayed silent,]] reveals the proper blind item: "What blondie former cheerleader is having a secret Moonlight Motel rendezvous with another big-lipped blondie?". Finn, angry that Q's apparently gone and humped behind his back again, finds Sam in the choir room and confronts, Rachel arriving only after realizing she set Finn off. Meanwhile, speaking of being set off, Santana storms in and unloads on Brittany, only for her to reveal the bait and switch by taking the term "playing for another team" literally, writing that she used to be on the Cheerios and now she's in Glee. Santana, exasperated, asks if there wasn't another way for her to say that. Finn prepares the [[Film/AClockworkOrange ol' ultraviolence]] for Trouty Mouth, only for Will to arrive and defuse. The assorted ND members disperse as we see what Sue's play is: let the rumors tear ND apart.

After a brief shot of Artie starting to piece things together, we cut to Will's place, where the candles and the booze are laid out. Will, after giving April advice about her show, asks for hers about the infighting. April diagnoses a touch of the "Mac", saying the angst led to great music. This naturally ignites the electrons within Will's overly gelled follicles, exciting him because he's wanted to do a lesson on an album for ages. April then sets the tone as we cut back to the choir room for some "Dreams". Afterwards, Will announces the obvious lesson: pick a song and present it to the class. After the break, we see Artie roll up to Brittany. Seems he's figured out Brit-Brit's been stepping out on him and confronts. After Brit spills the beans due to the "plumbing" excuse, Artie says Santana's been manipulating her, stunned that Brittany would even want to date him, so if she's cheating on him with Santana, it's too much for him to take. He has a point, while it's clear Brittany is in love with Santana, she didn't stop and think about Artie's feelings in all of this. And then, he makes the mistake of calling Brittany stupid and we see [[Creator/HeatherMorris HeMo]] make a face designed to make demons weep, as until now he was the only one in [=McKinley=] who didn't call her that. Artie, you have a right to be mad, but for using the wrong word, you're an idiot. This cues up "Never Going Back Again", with Puck, Sam, and in a rare sight, Finn on guitars.

Afterwards, we cut to the aforementioned Moonlight Motel, where since this is an episode about rumors, we must have a photog getting his snaps. Also engaging in surveillance is Finchel, Rachel convincing Finn to take pics of Quam's alleged illicit couplings while planting seeds of doubt in Finn's head about Q's fidelity. After a mention of this all being karma, a motel door opens and we see Sam... and Kurt DUN DUN DUN. And because any show about rumors can't be complete without a sleazy paparazzo, we cut to JBI OF FUCKING COURSE being the one with the snaps. After the break, we see ND minus Kurt, Sam, and Brittana at the Lima Bean where Finchel dish the dirt. However, Quinn is clearly the one who knows the truth and refuses to play, insisting Sam is straight. [[AmbiguouslyBi Well, straight-ish]]. Cut to the choir room where we see Brittany lament Artie dumping him. Santana, externally comforting while internally cheering, offers to cheer her up. She found a song on the album that best expresses her feelings. It is of course "Songbird" and afterwards, Brittany asks why Santana couldn't do it in public. Santana isn't ready to be out publicly. Brittany offers ''Fondue For Two'' as a forum to do so, so that way Brittany can ask her to prom, and Santana can accept, figuring small viewership plus a presumption that no one from the school watches would allow her to be out publicly, just not to the school. Santana agrees.

Cut to Rachel down the hallway, where she sees Sam walking past in one of Kurt's jackets. This is the impetus to find Kurt and confront him about his alleged affair with Sam, quoting the jacket as evidence. Kurt understandably calls BS on the whole thing. With "The Chain" as background music, we cut back to Finchel on stakeout, Finn musing about the way Lucy said Sam was straight, as if she was hiding something. They hear a door open and this time, Quam emerge. Finn is shall we say, not pleased. And now, MoodWhiplash as we cut to Brittany interviewing Will. After questions involving choices in undershorts, hosiery, and back waxing, as well as rumors involving affairs with students, we get a rumor that he's leaving to star in April's show. Knowing there's only one person who would know about that, he gets confirmation from Brit and then heads to the Muckraker's office, crashing a meeting and demanding to know why Sue is spreading rumors that he's leaving. Sue plays the Reverse Sue-cology, asking why he's not leaving, saying he could be a better performer than he thinks, so maybe he should go for it.

After the break, we see Quinn get a paper, then see an article about Finchel hooking up in Finn's truck. Clearly wishing she was Finn, she confronts and he confronts back about her and Sam. This leads to accusations of lack of trust which leads to the choir room for "I Don't Wanna Know". Afterwards, Rachel, clearly in a mood to be stupid, brings up Quam's supposed intimacy. This of course leads Quinn to respond in kind, correctly accusing Rachel of using the rumors to break up Fuinn and get back with Finn, not to mention the duet at Nationals. Q tells Finn to make the choice. We cut to the auditorium, where we see Emma watching Will and April perform one of April's numbers from her show. Afterwards, April begs Will to be her co-star, but he can't abandon ND now. April replies by saying it's ''their'' dream, and that it being Will's dream led him (and her) to where they are now. As Emma leaves, we cut back to ''Fondue For Two'' where, to no ones surprise, Santana cancelled. And in another sad state of affairs, Lord Tubbington is back on the smokes. Poor Lord T. After the break, we're at the lounge where we find out Emma's meds are working, as she mass washed her grapes instead of individually. She says Will inspired her to take control of her life, and now she wants Will to do the same, revealing she heard his conversation with April and thinks he should leave [=McKinley=]. Will has a small breakdown, saying ND and Emma saved his life, but that he's conflicted over what to do.

He leaves it for now as we return to the choir room, where Rachel gets the chance to vent I mean sing no I mean both, as we cue the most relevant song for these emotions, that of course being "Go Your Own Way", with Finn on drums and her staring at him the whole time trying to make Q jealous while Q sits staring at Rachel while trying to avoid the bottom from falling out of her undershorts. Afterwards, as Q figures out Rachel's play, Rachel lashes out, Q lashes out, and soon everyone is lashing out. Then, since Sam is the common link, they lash out at him until he boils over and reveals his truth: His father lost his job, their house got repossessed, and their family is living at the motel. Kurt showed up to give him some cast-off clothes hence the jacket. Sam leaves as ND stand humbled. After the break, we're in Sue's office, [[{{Squick}} where protein and placenta margaritas about]], we see what Terri's play was: Call up April and have her convince Will to leave ND. April says that there's no way Will will leave, Sue of course saying she has a plan; she'll have ''The Muckraker'' announce that Will's leaving for New York with April, and one way or another she'll try her best to make it come true. And now, some more MoodWhiplash as we cut to the motel where Finchel arrive to talk to Sam. We meet his family as we get backstory: moved from Tennessee cause Dad got a job, only for the economy to shit the bed and thus Mr. Evans got laid off. With the money spent on the move and the down payment, it left them with barely anything. Sam kept mum because if word got out at [=McKinley=], the slushies would increase, and that Kurt only found out because Sam was a part-time delivery man and got an order for Dalton. Finn offers his own handmedowns as we find out Quinn was babysitting his younger siblings, seems they went to the same church. He says he may have to quit, but Finchel disagree, producing the very guitar that apparently Lucy said Sam had to hock. ND chipped in and bought it back for him. He produces the ManlyTears as Rachel pledges ND to help in anyway.

After those emotions, we start the home stretch with other emotions, SUCH AS RAGE THAT JBI STILL EXISTS. The human waste grills Santana about a rumor involving her and Karofsky so farfetched that only she herself could've started it. We know that when confronted, Santana will lash out, thus in full view of Brittany, she tells JBI she and Karofsky are still dating, that they're excited about their Prom King and Queen campaign, that they're in love. Santana, you're an idiot. A still-closeted idiot, but an idiot none the less. Cut to the choir room where ND have papers in hand, all with the headline which says Will's leaving for New York. We get expected denials, then Sam arrives with siblings Stacey and Stevie. He says he has a song for the assignment and thus we end in the auditorium with Fleetwood Mac's SignatureSong, everyone having the good times while April shows up to remind us about what will payoff in the Season Finale. Glee "Don't Stop", but sadly we must until...

This cues up "Never Going Back Again", with Puck, Sam, and in a rare sight, Finnegan Finn on guitars.

Afterwards, we cut to the aforementioned Moonlight Motel, where since this is an episode about rumors, we must have a photog getting his snaps. Also engaging in surveillance is Finchel, Rachel convincing Finn to take pics of Quam's alleged illicit couplings while planting seeds of doubt in Finnegan's Finn's head about Q's fidelity. However, Lucille Quinn is clearly the one who knows the truth and refuses to play, insisting Sam is straight.

This of course leads Lucille to respond in kind, correctly accusing Rachel of using the rumors to break up Fuinn and get back with Finn, not to mention the duet at Nationals. Clearly about ready to either rip Rachel's head off or shove her tongue down Rachel's throat (and this ''is'' Q we're talking about), Q tells Finn to make the choice.

He leaves it for now as we return to the choir room, where Rachel gets the chance to vent I mean sing no I mean both, as we cue the most relevant song for these emotions, that of course being "Go Your Own Way", with Finnegan on drums and her staring at him the whole time trying to make Q jealous while Q sits staring at Rachel while trying to avoid the bottom from falling out of her undershorts.

After we see his Lordship partake in the fondue due to his Atlas diet, we hit the TitleCard. Cut to Rachel approaching Sam[[spoiler:, and thus we again spoiler tag HilariousInHindsight due to a very annoying case of PairTheSpares come Season 6]], after a second-hand Santana diss, she offers chapstick and herself for the junior prom. Terri, who, as it's her last episode, we need to remind you is insane, makes Sue a suggestion; Sue is always trying to destroy Will from inside, whereas Terri has a plan to get him ''out''.

The show opens with Brittany's new internet talk show, ''Fondue for Two''. Special guests: Mercedes and Tina. During the subsequent conversation, Brittany says that she's heard a rumour that Santana's a lesbian... and confirms it. Oh, this can't end well.

Rachel asks Sam out to the prom, since they're both single. He declines her offer as he doesn't think he'll be going.

Sue and Terri have a chat. Sue's decided to resurrect the old school news paper, ''The Muckraker''. She's assembled a team of people including Brittany, Becky, Azimio and Jacob to run it, and tells them that she wants newspapers everywhere, and they don't care about facts.

Terri makes Sue a suggestion- Sue is always trying to destroy Will from inside the Glee club, whereas Terri has a plan to get him out of the Glee club. Said plan isn't specified onscreen.

April Rhodes turns up at Will's office. Her all-white performance of Theatre/TheWiz was a flop, so she's going to make a show about herself, but she wants to use the auditorium as she's low on funds.

Rachel asks Finn to do a duet with her at Nationals. He says no, because he thinks Quinn might get jealous. Rachel holds up a copy of ''The Muckraker'' and points out an item that says that Quinn has no feelings for Finn, skipping past one that says that Santana's a lesbian. In the music room, Finn confronts Sam with the newspaper- it says that he and Quinn have been meeting up at a motel. Santana walks in and starts screaming at Brittany for outing her. Brittany protests that Santana does play for another team- she used to be on the Cheerios and now she's in Glee. Santana asks if there wasn't another way for her to say that. Sam and Finn start shoving each other, and Will arrives to break things up.

Will and April have dinner. Well, it's dinner with alcohol instead of food. Will asks April what to do about the fighting. April diagnoses Music/FleetwoodMac, and Will is excited because he's wanted to do a lesson on an album for ages, and now he's got an excuse to do so, with the album ''[[TitleDrop Rumours]]''. Cue April performing 'Dreams' in the music room. Afterwards, Will announces the week's lesson: pick a song from ''Rumours'' and present it to the class.

Artie and Brittany fight- he's stunned that Brittany would even want to date him, so if she's cheating on him with Santana, it's too much for him to take. Finally, he calls her stupid, and Brittany instantly dissolves in tears, because he was the only one who never called her that. Way to fuck it up, Artie. In a fantasy sequence, he performs 'Never Going Back Again'.

At a motel, Finn and Rachel are on stakeout. Sam and Kurt emerge from the motel, and both are shocked. Elsewhere, Jacob snaps his own pictures.

Finn and Rachel assemble all the Glee club minus Kurt, Sam, Santana and Brittany to dish the dirt on Kurt and Sam. Quinn refuses to play and insists that Sam is straight.

Santana sings 'Songbird' to Brittany. Brittany asks why Santana couldn't do it in public. Santana says she isn't ready for a public announcement. Brittany asks her to come on ''Fondue For Two'', so Brittany can ask her to prom, and Santana can accept. Santana agrees to.

Rachel sees Sam walking past in an unfamiliar jacket and runs to confront Kurt- Sam is wearing Kurt's jacket, and Rachel's sure that they're together. Kurt thinks it's a bullshit assumption.

Back on stakeout, Rachel and Finn see Quinn and Sam emerge from the motel. Finn is understandably appalled.

Brittany interviews Will and asks him a bunch of humiliating questions until he gets her to admit that Sue put her up to it. He crashes a meeting of ''The Muckraker'''s staff and demands to know why Sue is spreading rumours that he's leaving to go to New York to help April. Sue suggests that he could be a better performer than he thinks, so maybe he should go for it.

After seeing an article about Finn and Rachel hooking up in Finn's truck, Quinn and Finn have a screaming match which ends with them singing 'I Don't Wanna Know' in the music room. Quinn and Rachel fight over who will get to sing with Finn, and Quinn announces that if Rachel doesn't back off from her boyfriend, Quinn will quit the club.

Emma watches Will and April perform one of April's numbers from her show. April begs Will to go with her, but he says he can't abandon the club now. April says that winning at Nationals is their dream, not his dream.

On ''Fondue For Two'', Brittany announces that Santana cancelled on her.

Emma admits to Will that she overheard his conversation with April and thinks he should leave [=McKinley=].

Rachel performs 'Go Your Own Way', but she directs it toward Finn to try get him jealous. She and Quinn have a fight and some of the hostility gets directed toward Sam, and soon everyone is screaming at Sam until he admits his secret: His father lost his job, their house got repossessed, and their family is living at the motel. Kurt showed up to give him some cast-off clothes and Quinn was babysitting his younger siblings.

Sue, April and Terri talk. Sue's going to have ''The Muckraker'' announce that Will's leaving for New York with April, and then try her best to make it come true.

At the motel, Finn and Rachel turn up to talk to Sam. Quinn revealed that Sam had to sell his guitar, but the Glee club chipped in and bought it back for him.

Jacob tries to interview Santana about Karofsky. Finally, she tells him that they're still dating and that they're excited about their Prom King and Queen campaign. She says that they're in love, in earshot of Brittany.

In the music room, the club discusses the latest edition of ''The Muckraker'', which says that Will's leaving for New York. Will denies it, and Sam shows up with his siblings. They perform 'Don't Stop', April shows up in the audience, and the episode ends.

Cut to

No Finnegan, Dear Lucille would be spending all her time pining over your ex. Rachel then produces a copy of the Muckraker which has a blind item states "What prom queen candidate is spending a lot of time in the closet?" Finn, simple boy that he is, takes it literally, saying Q's claustrophobic. Rachel, after revealing that the item applied not to Lucy (heh) but to Santana, [[spoiler:

Finn, angry that Q's apparently gone and they don't care humped behind his back again, finds Sam in the choir room and confronts, Rachel arriving only after realizing she set Finnegan off. Meanwhile, speaking of being set off, Santana storms in and unloads on Brittany, only for her to reveal the bait and switch by taking the term "playing for another team" literally, writing that she used to be on the Cheerios and now she's in Glee. On Cut to Rachel down the hallway, where she sees Sam walking past in one of Kurt's jackets. As Emma leaves, we cut back to
''Fondue For Two'', Brittany announces that Two'' where, to no ones surprise, Santana cancelled cancelled. And in another sad state of affairs, Lord Tubbington is back on her.

Emma admits to
the smokes. Poor Lord T. After the break, we're at the lounge where we find out Emma's meds are working, as she mass washed her grapes instead of individually. She says Will that inspired her to take control of her life, and now she overheard wants Will to do the same, revealing she heard his conversation with April and thinks he should leave [=McKinley=].

[=McKinley=]. Will has a small breakdown, saying ND and Emma saved his life, but that he's conflicted over what to do.

He leaves it for now as we return to the choir room, where
Rachel performs 'Go gets the chance to vent I mean sing no I mean both, as we cue the most relevant song for these emotions, that of course being "Go Your Own Way', but she directs it toward Finn to try get Way", with Finnegan on drums and her staring at him jealous. She and Quinn have a fight and some of the hostility gets directed toward Sam, whole time trying to make Q jealous while Q sits staring at Rachel while trying to avoid the bottom from falling out of her undershorts. Afterwards, as Q figures out Rachel's play, Rachel lashes out, Q lashes out, and soon everyone is screaming at lashing out. Then, since Sam is the common link, they lash out at him until he admits boils over and reveals his secret: truth: His father lost his job, their house got repossessed, and their family is living at the motel. Kurt showed up to give him some cast-off clothes and Quinn was babysitting his younger siblings.

Sue, April and Terri talk.
hence the jacket. Sam leaves as ND stand humbled. After the break, we're in Sue's going office, [[{{Squick}} where protein and placenta margaritas about]], we see what Terri's play was: Call up April and have her convince Will to leave ND. April says that there's no way Will will leave, Sue of course saying she has a plan; she'll have ''The Muckraker'' announce that Will's leaving for New York with April, and then one way or another she'll try her best to make it come true.

At
true. And now, some more MoodWhiplash as we cut to the motel, Finn and Rachel turn up motel where Finchel arrive to talk to Sam. Finn offers his own handmedowns as we find out Quinn revealed was babysitting his younger siblings, seems they went to the same church. He says he may have to quit, but Finchel disagree, producing the very guitar that apparently Lucy said Sam had to sell his guitar, but the Glee club hock. ND chipped in and bought it back for him.

Jacob tries
him. He produces the ManlyTears as Rachel pledges ND to interview help in anyway.

After those emotions, we start the home stretch with other emotions, SUCH AS RAGE THAT JBI STILL EXISTS. The human waste grills
Santana about Karofsky. Finally, a rumor involving her and Karofsky so farfetched that only she herself could've started it. We know that when confronted, Santana will lash out, thus in full view of Brittany, she tells him that they're JBI she and Karofsky are still dating and dating, that they're excited about their Prom King and Queen campaign. She says campaign, that they're in love, in earshot of Brittany.

In
love. Santana, you're an idiot. A still-closeted idiot, but an idiot none the music room, less. Cut to the club discusses choir room where ND have papers in hand, all with the latest edition of ''The Muckraker'', headline which says that Will's leaving for New York. Will denies it, and We get expected denials, then Sam shows up arrives with his siblings. They perform 'Don't Stop', siblings Stacey and Stevie. He says he has a song for the assignment and thus we end in the auditorium with Fleetwood Mac's SignatureSong, everyone having the good times while April shows up to remind us about what will payoff in the audience, Season Finale. Glee "Don't Stop", but sadly we must until...

Next Time: Junior Prom 2011, where we see an unexpected return,
and a painful reminder for one ND member that the episode ends.
more things change...

April Rhodes turns up at Will's office. Her all-white performance of TheWiz was a flop, so she's going to make a show about herself, but she wants to use the auditorium as she's low on funds.
