We start the season 2 ChristmasEpisode with Will in the lounge as Emma approaches, asking if the two of them are okay on account of her getting married as it seems Will [[BlatantLies has been in no way avoiding her]]. Emma asks about Will's plans and not surprisingly, he plans on being alone. Ask a stupid question, Emma... Emma, apparently realizes it and, despite the inevitable awkwardness, invites him to her and Carl's Christmas party. Will, not wanting to indulge in holiday masochism, declines. Bieste arrives with a tub full of names for a Secret Santa, everybody immediately reacting negatively to the name they pulled as Will pulls out the name of the Lycra Lord because of course. Cut to Brittany and Artie decorating his locker, Brittany cuing a non-sequitur of leaving a stocking up and mice getting into it. Artie, being a simple man, simply wants a gift of his parents to stop leaving friend requests. Brittany, as you'd expect, asks what Artie asked Santa for. Artie sits stunned that she still believes, although that really should surprise no one. Neither should this holiday tinted TitleCard.

Cut to the choir room where New Directions are putting up the tree while getting their Rudolph on; specifically, the song talking about the "Island of Unwanted Toys", how apropos. We even see Rachel, and yes, her Judaism becomes an InformedAttribute for these purposes. Afterwards, Will arrives and we hit the MoodWhiplash: Finnegan found the tree on the side of the road, Santana took the ornaments from her neighbors house after the resident offed his mother, while Noah took display boxes from a mall display. Gets you into the spirit doesn't it? Mercedes calls the tree a mascot, citing how despite two Sectionals wins, they're still pariahs. We cut to Mike, Tina and Mercedes coming across the resident letterman clad grinches and coming away with rosy cheeks full of food coloring added to what Mike is sure is [[{{Squick}} parking lot slush]] for evidence. Will tries to peptalk, saying ND's gonna raise money for a shelter full of homeless kids... and to raise money, they're caroling to each classroom. Let's see; having the social pariahs of [=McKinley=] singing to each classroom. Will, heart's in the right place, but you're an idiot. We soon see how much of an idiot he is; ND (and the band too? Locke and Henson deserve twice the pay for this) tries but gets a teacher's shoe thrown at them (Murphy clearly going for ComedicSociopathy), paper (not money) thrown at them, and how dare you do this Hairgel! Cut back to the choir room where ND recovers, Finn trying to rally for another go, while Brittany says she asked Santa for ND to stop being abused. As this goes on, Rachel, finding an opportunity to try for a reconciliation, asks Finn to meet her in the auditorium, while Artie says Brittany still believes and no one is to tell her otherwise.

Cut to the locker room where, citing a similar body type, the ND men ask Beiste to put a Santa suit on and convince Brittany Santa can't make Artie walk. To do this, she must head to Brittany's house and act like she came down the chimney. Bieste agrees as we cut to Becky handing Sue some gloves.

Cut to ND in the debris, Will arriving to see the destruction. Rachel accuses the [[JerkJock usual suspects]], but Will of course knows the guilty party. Brittany, serenely explains that it was Santa while Artie manages to get his sign language working enough this time to make sure that everyone agrees. Finn, tapping into something rarely seen, tells everyone that they shouldn't be sad about it because way worse things happen all the time to other people around the world. Rachel, seeing a reminder why she fucked up (and let it be known that Finnegan can be a decent human. Sadly those are the rarest of occasions, and next season will solidify that), senses another opportunity to try and get back with him, hiding her true intentions behind the guise of unity for New Directions. Cut to a tree lot where Finchel ostensibly is there to try and find a tree. We hit the duet, and kissing ensues; unfortunately for Rachel, Finn may be ignorant, but not ''completely'' stupid (for now at least), as he finds out the true intentions and tells Rachel off, leaving her alone in the tree yard.

The season 2 ''Series/{{Glee}}'' ChristmasEpisode opens with Emma, newly married to someone who is not Will, inviting Will, single, to her Christmas party. He takes a rain check. Then Beiste brings around the staff SecretSanta. Will gets Sue.

The Glee club are now doing a performance that will end up on every music video stations' Christmas playlist forevermore, as with nearly every song in this episode. They're decorating a Christmas tree as they go. Rachel seems to have forgotten that she's Jewish.

Will encourages the glee club to go carolling for homeless people, visiting school classrooms to raise money. They reluctantly consider it, not because they're heartless, but because they don't want to go carolling in their school. It goes about as well as expected, shoes (from the teacher) and paper being thrown at them - and not paper money. They reconvene outside, where Rachel asks Finn to meet her in the auditorium and Artie reveals to the group that Brittany still believes in Santa, and he wants to keep it this way. They decide to take her to the Santa in the mall as a group. It's all going well, asking for things like Chap Stick and for Creator/ChanningTatum to [[TakeThat stop being in stuff]] until Brittany goes. She's last and points right at Artie so everyone is listening when she asks for him to be able to walk again. OhCrap. Artie tries to signal to the black santa to let her down easy, but he says he'll make it come true. Black West Lima Mall Santa, you're a jerk.

Finn finds Rachel in the auditorium amidst a Winter Scene ready to sing a Christmas song. Her present to him is a song, and he tries to refuse it, but she sings anyway. An InternalHomage is made to this with Marley and Sue a few years later. Blaine then asks Kurt to duet with him, also starting their annual tradition. Apparently, Kurt's way better than the girl that Blaine has to sing with. Will asks Kurt if that was his boyfriend as Blaine is leaving; Kurt says no but he's working on it. Will reveals why he's visiting: he's terrible at gift giving and is pulling his hair out about what to get Sue, and needs Kurt's help. Gift picked out, Will goes to give it to Sue and finds Emma on the same path. Emma reveals that she also got Sue for Secret Santa. When Beiste joins them, they all realise that Sue replaced all the names in the hat with her own, and she's amassed an office-full of gifts. They call her a [[ShoutOut Grinch]] and take the presents to be given to the homeless kids.

Now for the ShotForShotRemake of ''Film/HowTheGrinchStoleChristmas'', starring Sue Sylvester as The Grinch, Becky Jackson as Max, and Brittany S. Pierce as Cindy Lou Who in a perfect casting. The text from the Creator/DrSeuss book is spoken word-for-word. Sue goes to steal the gifts from the choir and Brittany, hair done up like a Hoo's, finds her but [[ChekhovsGun thinks that she's Santa]]. HilarityEnsues, with Sue telling Brittany that she's just going to fix the tree. Brittany trusts her, and hands over the present she was going to put under the tree. Sue leaves with everything, destroying all the decorations in the process.

Meanwhile, Artie and the boys from glee ask Coach Beiste to dress up like Santa to retract the promise to Brittany about making Artie walk. Beiste thinks that someone should break it to her that Santa isn't real already. The glee club enter the choir room to find everything gone or broken. Rachel accuses the [[JerkJock jocks]], Will accuses Sue, but Brittany explains that it was Santa. Artie manages to get his sign language working enough this time to make sure that everyone agrees.

Finn tells everyone that they shouldn't be sad about it because way worse things happen all the time to other people around the world. Rachel then invites him to pick a Christmas tree with her. Really, she's trying to get him to do more romantic things with her. They sing in the orchard, and then kiss, but Finn breaks up with her right afterwards. The glee kids consider selling their watches and hair to save Christmas, but Will says they only need to go out and sing for people who need it. Then Brittany finds Beiste dressed as Santa, who tells Brittany that he's tried his best but just can't make Artie walk. Brittany's face is something that could make puppies cry. Brittany tells Artie that she's lost the spirit of Christmas, and they skip out on the new bright idea:

Sing for the teachers to raise money! Sue was pleased that she got her presents back, but when she sees that the glee club are still going around all... gleeful, she decides that their perseverance, optimism or idiotic delusion is really quite touching. Her heart grows three sizes. This prompts her to take the presents and tree to Will's house, where they and the glee club decorate. In the choir room, they also find where Artie and Brittany got to - a present was left at Brittany's by Santa (really Beiste) that is a device called a [=ReWalk=]. This is, in fact, a real thing. It helps Artie walk for a little bit. Brittany's happy, so you can stop pretending to chop onions now.
