* ToBeContinued: In a bit of a shock for audiences at the time. A midseason two-parter? Sure, everyone does that. A ''three''-parter that isn't a season finale? All but unheard of. The episode closes on this legend over a close-up of John, now a statue, his face contorted in agony from the process.
* WorkingTheSameCase: Crichton convinces Jenavian that he's also a Peacekeeper spy. It helps that [[RightHandVersusLeftHand the Peacekeeper inteligence agencies seem to keep their agents in the dark about this sort of thing.]]

* ArmorPiercingSlap:
** Crichton goes to Clavor, understandably upset that Clavor just tried to have him killed. He gives Clavor a few light smacks on the face, before Clavor, in a tizzy, shouts "You cannot strike me, I am royalty!" In response, John straight-out decks him, which makes Clavor whimper and drop to his seat most satisfyingly.
** Katralla slaps John ''epically'' in response to the above. Combined with HeyYouHaymaker, as she approaches behind John, taps him on the shoulder, then smacks him as he turns around.

* InstantlyProvenWrong: Tyno refuses to believe Crichton's assertion that Clavor was behind the assassination attempt because "The Empress, and by extension the royal family, abhors personal violence." Cue Katralla walking up and giving John a [[HeyYouHaymaker "Hey, You!"]] ArmorPiercingSlap. Crichton's "I Told You So" smirk especially sells the moment.

** Once Crichton points out that ro-NA and Braca can't shoot him and he starts going wacky, he quotes almost word for word a scene from Film/BlazingSaddles, pretending to threaten himself by holding his fingers to his head as if they were a gun.
