Seldom Seen Species is no longer a trope.

* SeldomSeenSpecies: When's the last time an Akita appeared in a show not made in Japan?

* IAmNotAGun: While B.O.Y.D. was originally made to defend Toyolk, after he was hijacked and attacked the city, everyone keeps telling him that he's at his core, a weapon to which both B.O.Y.D. and Huey disagree with.

TRS cleanup

* AbsenteeActor: Huey is the only regular cast member to appear, apart from a cameo from Launchpad at the start. This is also the first episode where Scrooge isn't even mentioned.

** The dogfight between Gizmoduck and B.O.Y.D. is based on the ''[[Anime/{{Macross}} original]]'' MacrossMissileMassacre. The staff even referred to the trope's Japanese term, [[https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Ichir%C5%8D_Itano#Itano_Circus "Itano Circus"]].

The clown helmet is much more likely to be a reference to Killer Joker in Akira. "May be" isn't good enough.

** Fenton doesn't think B.O.Y.D. is dangerous, however he immediately assumes B.O.Y.D. wants to be a superhero like him.

** Dr. Akita is seen eating from a bag of chips that has a fox version of [[Manga/OsomatsuKun one of the]] [[Anime/OsomatsuSan Matsuno brothers]] on it. Additionally, it's reminiscent of the infamous "potato chip" scene from ''Manga/DeathNote''.

** The credits name the bike-riding OutlawCouple "Clown" and "Capsule", after two of the [[GangOfHats gangs]] in ''Manga/{{AKIRA}}''. "Capsule", the female, is most likely also a reference to [[Franchise/DragonBall Capsule Corp.]] and Bulma (who, like her, also had purple hair and rode a bike in the original Franchise/DragonBall manga covers). "Clown", meanwhile, is wearing a helmet shaped like [[Franchise/OnePiece Buggy]].

* TakeThat:
** The episode opens with the Woodchucks celebrating National S'More Day, a "very real" national holiday that Launchpad discovered on one website on the internet.
** Glomgold sponsoring an energy drink may be a subtle reference to the questionable nutritional value of energy drinks.

* YouAreBetterThanYouThinkYouAre: Essentially what Gyro's speech to the rampaging 2BO/B.O.Y.D. amounts to. It works.

* ItIsDehumanizing: Gyro continually refers to B.O.Y.D. as "it" throughout the episode, on top of using his former name of 2BO, as part of his distrust and bitterness.

* IronicEcho: Gyro's line, "Not all my invention's are evil. Some of them are just wildly misunderstood," harkens back to his first appearance. Where the original line was humorous in its denial, here it's [[MeaningfulEcho meaningful]] as Gyro realizes the one invention of his that he truly believed was evil had been not just misunderstood, but purposely sabotaged.

** Because he spent so much time in a dimly-lit room for what can be assumed to be a very long time, Dr. Akita's ominous entrance was interrupted by [[DayHurtsDarkAdjustedEyes the sun blinding him]].
** The episode ends with Huey, Gyro, Fenton, and B.O.Y.D. all asked by Inspector Tezuka to [[GetOut leave Tokyolk]] with the heavy implication that [[PersonaNonGrata they won't be welcomed back anytime in the near future.]] Well, considering the massive damages their actions caused in the episode, especially in the final battle with Dr. Akita, one would realistically expect to be banned from a city at a minimum. And considering she's able to overpower Gizmoduck and defeated B.O.Y.D. in the past, none of them are about to refute Tezuka's demands.
