* AwesomeButImpractical: Gold as a fuel source. Awesome because Gyro apparently figured out a way to power a rocket with a single, ''extremely stable'' fuel; impractical because what's known to exist is either highly controlled or has to be mined up from the ground. That last part turns out to be a problem on the ''moon.''

** Della kicks up lunar soil every time she pushes off of it, but the physics are wrong: it ''should'' only kick up as a reaction to her physically disturbing, because the moon lacks the erosion necessary to make it fine enough to react like the dust cloud-like effect we see.

* ForegoneConclusion: All of Della's attempts to get home (up until the 10 year mark) are doomed to failure since she was still missing by the start of the series.

* HiddenElfVillage: The Moon-people's city, named Tranquility, is hidden under the Moon's surface on the far side of the moon.

* ArtisticLicensePhysics: Gyro's Oxy-Chew provides Della with food, water and oxygen. [[AWizardDidIt Fair enough]]. How does it provide her with heat? Or allow her to speak audibly in an airless vacuum? How can the moon mites and Moonlanders speak audibly in an airless vacuum?

** Given that Della states that the Oxy-Chew allowed her to survive in the "Thin Lunar Atmosphere", it seems that the moon of ''[=DuckTales=]'' does indeed have an atmosphere, presumably one thick enough to allow for verbal communication but too thin to breathe in.

* AmbiguouslyEvil: The Lunarians. Lt. Penumbra hates Della both [[FantasticRacism for being an Earthling]] and for taking care of the Moon Mite peacefully. While General Lunaris comes off as a NiceGuy ReasonableAuthorityFigure, his private remark to Penumbra that Della could be "useful" comes as sinister compared to the rest of his dialogue.

* FailedASpotCheck: Della could have avoided many years of being stranded had she bothered to explore the backside of the moon with the Lunarians' civilization there.

* EstablishingCharacterMoment: This is essentially an establishing character ''[[UpToEleven episode]]'' for Della, who had previously spent eighty years in the background as nothing but a name to explain how Huey, Dewey, and Louie are related to Donald.

* AbsenteeActor: Neither Donald, Mrs. Beakly, Launchpad, Webby, or the triplets appear in the episode. [[note]]This also marks the first episode in the series where none of the kid characters appear, apart from a picture of them as eggs and Della's attempt to draw them.[[/note]] Scrooge only appears at the beginning, trying to steer Della home. Donald appears on a picture, but not in person.

* AdultFear:
** The Moon Mite is revealed to be stealing metal [[MonsterIsAMommy to keep her baby fed]]. Considering the Moon Planet's inhabitants were actively hunting her (and thus cutting off her ability to forage properly), the Moon Mite was probably worried her baby would starve to death.
** As time passes, Della becomes more stressed in part because she realizes she's missing some of the most important years of her sons' lives.

* CerebusCallBack: At first Della going LeeroyJenkins and jumping off the Moon while screaming parts of the iconic Moon Theme seems like a very silly MythologyGag to the ''[[VideoGame/DuckTales DuckTales]]'' [[VideoGame/DuckTales video game]]. And then it turns out the theme is part of a lullaby she used to sing to her boys before they hatched.

* HumblePie: An interesting subversion in that it's not public but the character is forced to change nonetheless. When Della decides to fix the Spear of Selene and get back to Earth on her own, she grabs Gyro's instruction manual saying "How hard can it be? It's only rocket science." Gyro's note "Even Della could do it" causes her to go into a fit of rage and rip the manual to shreds. A montage then plays with an orchestrated version of the iconic Moon Theme where she attempts to fix everything on her own without instructions. [[RealityEnsues It doesn't go well]]. Cue Della swallowing her pride, sticking the shreds of the manual together and attempting to read it in order to fix her rocket properly.

*** Oxy-Chew was first used in ''Remastered'' to explain how the characters could survive on the Moon level. The main difference is that while in the game it only provided air, here it also provides water and nutrition. Its flavour is still bad though (although Gyro likes it).

** Gyro's note "Even Della could do it" on the Spear of Selene's service manual, causes her to go into a fit of rage and rip it to shreds. She then attempts to repair it on her own without any instructions. [[RealityEnsues It goes about as well as you'd expect]]. Cue Della [[HumblePie sticking the pieces of the manual together and trying to learn it by heart]].

* CerebusCallBack: At first Della going LeeroyJenkins and jumping off the Moon while screaming parts of the iconic Moon Theme seems like a very silly MythologyGag to the [[VideoGame/DuckTales DuckTales video game]]. And then it turns out the theme is part of a lullaby she used to sing to her boys before they hatched.

** Similarly, her first plan to get home was to ''jump'' back to Earth. [[RealityEnsues It did not work.]]

* RealityEnsues: After crashlanding, Della's leg is pinned under a large piece of the ship. After trying countless times, we flash forward a month later to see [[LifeOrLimbDecision it's been replaced with a metal one]].

* ArtisticLicenseBiology: While the moon mites and Moonlanders are native to the moon and thus can live on its surface just fine, the rough silicate that makes up the moon's surface has been proven to be toxic to humans in RealLife. Is it non-toxic to anthropomorphic ducks in this world? If not, Della should have died being exposed to it without any protection within a few days.

* SpecialEditionTitle: No title sequence at all, just the ''Duck Tales'' logo superimposed on the Earth as Della looks at it in determination.

** Given that Della states that the Oxy-Chew allowed her to survive in the "Thin Lunar Atmosphere", it seems that the moon of Duck Tales does indeed have an atmosphere, presumably one thick enough to allow for verbal communication but too thin to breathe in.

* ContinuityNod: The Spear of Selene is a model DT-18. Given that the security systems before were labeled DT-87, a nod to ''WesternAnimation/DuckTales1987'', the DT-18 denotes the current series, Duck Tales 2018.
