* EatingTheEyeCandy: Elektra checks out Matt as [[ShirtlessScene he changes into his tuxedo]] in the back of the vehicle. In turn quite a few people check out Elektra as she enters the room in a [[LadyInRed red dress]]--Matt notes several elevated heart rates.
* FakeOutMakeOut: Well, okay, it's more like Fake-Out ''Fornication'', but... it's how Matt and Elektra throw the pursuing guards off their trail, along with SexDressed and PlayingDrunk. What helps sell it is the fact that Matt is blind--''cortically'' blind, meaning his pupils don't react to light and he's not just faking it, which makes it far less believable that he just stole the ledger out from under the Yakuza's noses.

* FightingWithChucks: The Yakuza enforcers.

* MyRuleFuIsStrongerThanYours: DA Reyes attempts to kick Matt and co. out by stating it's illegal for lawyers to defend a murderer that killed one of their clients, only for Matt to counter that if she's going to file the conflict of interest, Reyes will have to admit that she's responsible for jeopardizing Grotto's witness protection.

* SeriousBusiness: Castle is considered dangerous enough that an entire floor of the hospital is blocked off for him, guarded by ESU officers with carbines, bags have to be searched twice to be absolutely certain no one's smuggling in a weapon, and there's a "do not cross" line around his bed marked with red tape.

* BelligerentSexualTension: Loads between Matt and Elektra. He starts off making it clear that he's moved on from her and she trolls him by making a No Sex rule, yet by the end of the night they've done a FakeOutMakeOut, openly enjoy working together, and make a 'date' for the following night.

Then, when more of the gang joins in, the woman switches opponents, and the rest of the fight is mostly Elektra fighting her while Matt fights the three men.
