[[caption-width-right:350:Because it's CluckingFunny!]]

Isaac and the player go to a local farm to see if there are still inhabitants living on it, as they discovered in the previous case that the Italians have been driving people out of their homes for unknown reasons. There they find Benjamin Galls, the farm's owner, stabbed in the back with a pitchfork and with his head submerged in a trough.

!!Tropes:
*AccidentalMurder: Vinnie claims that Benjamin lunged at him while Vinnie was trying to scare him off with the pitchfork and as a result impaled him by accident. Due to this, Judge Lawson decides to give him a lenient sentence of 10 years due to lack of murderous intent.
*AnimalStampede: One conformed entirely by birds happens in Chapter 2 when Constable Ramirez accidentally releases a flock of chickens and ducks as seen in the page's image. Isaac even calls it "an avian apocalypse".
*BackStab: How the victim was killed, courtesy of a pitchfork.
*CallBack: [[Recap/CriminalCaseMysteriesOfThePastCase21BlueBlazes Giulietta Capecchi]] and [[Recap/CriminalCaseMysteriesOfThePastCase23DeathIsACabaret Vinnie Costa]] reappear as suspects.
*ChildhoodHomeRediscovery: Giulietta tells you how she and her late sister used to visit Benjamin's farm when they were still children and that coming back to scatter her sister's ashes there has brought her memories.
*{{Cliffhanger}}: The case ends with Constable Ramirez informing you that a train has been derailed due to the tracks being sabotaged.
*CommunityThreateningConstruction: It's discovered that the Italian's endgame plan is taking over the land of the homes they're forcibly evicting so they can destroy said homes and make way for railroad tracks, apparently wanting to do something with their own train tracks.
*ContinuityNod:
**Adaline shows she adopted Daisy the cow, which previously belonged to Harriet Patrick [[Recap/CriminalCaseMysteriesOfThePastCase02SlashAndBurn prior to her murder.]]
**[[Recap/CriminalCaseMysteriesOfThePastCase07LetMeDownGently Lucrezia Capecchi's death]] is mentioned by her sister.
**When Maddie and Charlie pretend to be a couple in front of Adaline, they remark [[Recap/CriminalCaseMysteriesOfThePastCase22Overkill how this isn't the first time]] they have done so.
*{{Cowboy}}: Clay Westwood, an obvious parody of Creator/ClintEastwood, is a travelling cowboy who happened to be working for the victim at the time of his murder. Vinnie Costa is also revealed to be one since he lives in Coyote Gorge.
*IDidntMeanToKillHim: Vinnie justifies himself saying that his intent wasn't killing Benjamin, but the man lunged at him while he was holding the pitchfork to scare him off and accidentally impaled him.
*DistractedByMyOwnSexy: Isaac mistakes the player for doing this when you find a mirror as a clue.
-->'''Isaac:''' And you need not check your reflection in that mirror, <Player's Name>, you look dashing as always!
*DueToTheDead: Giulietta wanted to scatter her sister's ashes in Benjamin's farm as both of them having childhood memories there, although she didn't get the chance due to Benjamin chasing her off with a shotgun, claiming that Italians were no longer welcome in his land.
*FarmersDaughter: Adaline Galls, the victim's daughter, is the pure and innocent type, although this doesn't stop her from threatening Charlie with a shotgun [[ItMakesSenseInContext due to trying to milk her cow.]]
*FieryCoverup: The killer attempted to burn the victim's vest in his chimney, but failed to do so and left a vital clue behind.
*FigureItOuutYourself: When you interrogate Vinnie after his arrest, he refuses to tell you anything about the Italians' business in Coyote Gorge, claiming that he would be dead within minutes if he rated them out and instead you'll have to figure out things for yourself.
*ForcedFromTheirHome: Vinnie was sent by the Italian mafia to forcibly remove the victim from his home just like they did with the inhabitants of Devil's Ridge, but Benjamin refused to comply and fought against Vinnie during their confrontation, which led to his death.
*FormallyNamedPet: Vinnie's pet dog is called Maximinus.
-->'''Maddie:''' Oh, you say you recall Vinnie referring to his dog as Maximinus? Only an Italian gangster would name his pet after a Roman emperor...
*FromStrayToPet: During the Additional Investigation, Adaline decides to adopt Vinnie's dog after he gets arrested, not wanting to leave him living on the streets.
*GoodSamaritan: The victim is mostly described as this by some of your suspects, such as Ethel claiming that he always helped her with odd jobs at her shop or Clay saying that Benjamin offered him a place to stay while travelling. However, it turns out that he also suffered from ChronicHeroSyndrome, since his efforts to help everyone led to doing half-assed jobs with Ethel or not having enough to pay Clay after his work.
*OhNoNotAgain: Vinnie has this reaction when you interrogate him the first time.
-->'''Vinnie:''' Dio mio, not you and your flying cigar again, <Player's Name>!
*PowerFist: Vinnie is marked as a suspect when you find his brass knuckle near the crime scene.
*RapidFireNo: Seems like Vinnie has acquired [[TheDon his boss]] manner of speaking.
-->'''Vinnie:''' No, no, no! You've got it all wrong! Me, I'm an honest Italiano! I'm no killer!
*ShipTease: After Maddie helps Charlie convince Adaline to let him use his milking machine on her how, she invites him to a date.
*ShopKeeper: Ethel Spencer, the owner of the local convenience store that the victim frequented, appears as a suspect.
*ShoutOut:
**The case's title comes from the TV series ''Series/LittleHouseOnThePrairie''. In addition, Benjamin Galls and his daughter Adaline are parodies of Charles Ingalls and Laura Ingalls, respectively.
** Clay Westwood is named after Creator/ClintEastwood.
** Ethel Spencer is a parody of Creator/OctaviaSpencer.
** Louis Pasteur and Maximinus Thrax are mentioned.
*TemptingFate: Like last time, Isaac says he hopes no [[WhyDidItHaveToBeSnakes horses]] will be present during his visit to the farm. Guess what animal is [[{{Cowboy}} Clay]] always seen with?
*WeUsedToBeFriends: Giulietta and his sister Lucrezia used to be good acquaintances with Benjamin, visiting his farm when they were children. However, Benjamin grew to resent Italians due to they trying to drove him away from his home, and chased Giulietta out of his farm with a shotgun after she tried to scatter Lucrezia's ashes there.
*{{Workaholic}}: Adaline tells you that her father was this, working so much he eventually drove her mother away from them.
