In the summer of 1987, a young boy named Harold (Logan Allan) is seen fishing at a nearby creek. His friend Smitty (Creator/DylanGage) meets him there, and notices that Harold is bruised and beaten around the face. Harold admits that the injuries are the result of a scuffle between him and his abusive brother, Billy (Volitaire Colin Council), having accidentally dented the latter's car and running to the creek to hide from him. After Smitty leaves, Billy comes back to assault Harold some more.

Harold manages to escape, and makes his way to an abandoned farm. Harold soon discovers that the farm is protected by a grotesque scarecrow (Carey Jones) with a wooden cane in its chest. Hearing Billy approaching, Harold pulls the cane from the scarecrow's chest and runs. He manages to reach the farmhouse and ends up letting himself inside. Something begins violently trying to open the door, but upon looking out the window, he sees Billy heading for home. Realizing that the scarecrow has come to life, Harold tries to flee upstairs as it lets itself in. He ends up getting his foot caught in the rotting wood of the staircase and falls into the basement, where he discovers a cobweb covered corpse with a shotgun in its hands. A note on the ground near the corpse segues into a flashback as Harold picks it up and reads it.

In the flashback, it is revealed that the corpse is that of Mr. Brenner (Afemo Omilami), the original owner of the farm. Brenner narrates that his wife of 40 years, Mavis, had succumbed to an (unspecified) illness, and after being overwhelmed with loneliness, he worked to create the scarecrow. Brenner hypothesized that the materials he used to create it, including animals' bones found on his field and a crocheted heart Mavis had made, combined with his own desires, had somehow brought the scarecrow to life. Some time later, Mr. Brenner watches the scarecrow murder a girl scout (Addison Hershey) that had innocently wandered onto his property. Overwhelmed with guilt, Brenner incapacitates the scarecrow by plunging his cane into its crocheted heart, then goes to the basement, writes the note Harold will find, and kills himself with the shotgun.

Back in the present, Harold hears the scarecrow approaching and hides. Failing to shoot it with the unloaded gun, he smacks the scarecrow in the face with it. He grabs Brenner's cane, and after watching the scarecrow cower for a moment, stabs it in the heart. Inspired by the experience, Harold returns home and gets to work on a project.

He wakes Billy up, who realizes that he's been sewn into his bed. Harold reveals that the scarecrow is behind him. Pointing at Billy with Brenner's cane, Harold commands the scarecrow to murder his brother. Harold glances at the window to observe the Creep watching the spectacle with him.

In the summer of 1987, a young boy named Harold (Logan Allan) is seen fishing at a nearby creek. His friend Smitty (Dylan Gage) meets him there, and notices that Harold is bruised and beaten around the face. Harold admits that the injuries are the result of a scuffle between him and his abusive brother, Billy (Volitaire Colin Council), having accidentally dented the latter's car and running to the creek to hide from him. After Smitty leaves, Billy comes back to assault Harold some more.

Brenner hypothesized that the materials he used to create the scarecrow, including animals' bones found on his field and a crocheted heart Mavis had made, combined with his own desires, had somehow brought the scarecrow to life. Some time later, Mr. Brenner watches the scarecrow murder a girl scout (Addison Hershey) that had innocently wandered onto his property. Overwhelmed with guilt, Brenner incapacitates the scarecrow by plunging his cane into its crocheted heart, then goes to the basement, writes the note, and kills himself with the shotgun. Back in the present, Harold hears the scarecrow approaching and hides. Failing to shoot it with the unloaded gun, he smacks the scarecrow in the face with it. He grabs Brenner's cane, and after watching the scarecrow cower for a moment, stabs it in the heart. Inspired by the experience, Harold returns home and gets to work on a project of his.

A young boy named Harold (Logan Allan) is seen fishing at a nearby creek. His friend, Smitty, meets him there, and notices that Harold is bruised and beaten. Harold admits that the injuries are the result of a scuffle between him and his abusive brother, Billy (Voltaire Colin Council), having run to the creek to hide from him. After Smitty leaves, Billy comes back to assault Harold some more. Harold manages to escape, and hides on an abandoned farm. Harold soon discovers that the farm is protected by a grotesque, animate, murderous scarecrow (Carey Jones). Afraid of being caught by either the scarecrow or Billy, Harold runs inside the farmhouse, but ends up falling into the basement, where he discovers a cobweb covered corpse with a shotgun in its hands. A note on the ground near the corpse segues into a flashback as Harold reads it. In the flashback, it is revealed that the corpse is that of Mr. Brenner (Afemo Omilami), the original owner of the farm. His wife of 40 years, Mavis, had succumbed to an unspecified illness, and after being overwhelmed with loneliness, he worked to create the scarecrow. The materials he used to create the scarecrow, including animals bones found on his field and a crocheted heart Mavis had made, combined with his own desires, brought the scarecrow to life. Some time later, Mr. Brenner watches the scarecrow murder a girl scout that had innocently wandered onto his property. Overwhelmed with guilt, Brenner incapacitates the scarecrow by plunging his cane into its crocheted heart, then goes to the basement, writes the note, and kills himself with the shotgun. Back in the present, Harold uses the knowledge he has learned to confront the scarecrow. He grabs Brenner's cane, and after watching the scarecrow cower for a moment, stabs it in the heart. After the experience, Harold decides to use the situation he's in as a way to solve his ''other'' situation. To that end, he brings the scarecrow home, intending to "introduce" it to Billy.

* EvilIsHammy: Billy, Harold's abusive brother. He has NoIndoorVoice for almost the whole episode, and takes absolute delight in torturing his younger sibling relentlessly.
* FelonyMisdemeanor: It's mentioned that the reason Billy abuses Harold throughout the story is because he accidentally put a dent in his car.
* NoodleIncident: Harold admits that the abuse that Billy inflicts on him have caused him to run from home at least once before. We're given no detail as to why exactly he ran that first time.
* MythologyGag: Brenner meets his end the same way Jordy Verrill from [[Film/{{Creepshow}} the original film]] does. Also, like "Father's Day" in that film, we are treated to a flashback scene set seven years in the past.
* NothingIsScarier: As Brenner himself mentions, it's never revealed how exactly the scarecrow came to life. He theorizes that it could've been anything from the bones he dug up, or the heart that his late wife had made for him, or even his own wants and desires for company brought it to life.
* PreMortemOneLiner: Harold spouts one as he attempts to shoot the scarecrow with Brenner's gun. Of course, it doesn't work when it's revealed the gun isn't loaded.
* ShoutOut:
** Appropriately enough, Harold is named after Harold the Scarecrow from ''Literature/ScaryStoriesToTellInTheDark.''
** Some of the graffiti on the bridge in the opening scene reads [[Film/FridayThe13thTheFinalChapter "Jimmy is a dead fuck."]] and [[Literature/{{IT}} "Beware Pennywise."]]
** Smitty's lunchbox has a ''Film/HellFest'' sticker on it.
** Billy has a ''Film/BloodCar'' poster on the wall of his room, as well as [[Film/StreetTrash a bottle of Tenafly Viper]] and a miniature replica of the clock from ''Film/TheAmityvilleHorror1979'' on his nightstand.
** UnwittingInstigatorOfDoom: Brenner, who realizes full well that his creation turned out to be violently homicidal.
** WouldHurtAChild: The scarecrow brutally murders a girl scout who wanders onto the farm purely to sell cookies. The overwhelming guilt that Brenner feels afterward leads directly to him incapacitating his creation and killing himself afterward.
