Robby is a wanted fugitive, Tory has been expelled, all other participants have been suspended, Stingray has been arrested for assaulting minors, the [=LaRussos=] have had their reputations destroyed, Johnny appears to be deep into a DespairEventHorizon, and the parents at West Valley are furious with the school for their incompetence in allowing a riot to take place on school property in which a student was seriously injured.

* BerserkButton: Kreese gets under Daniel's skin by smugly taunting him about how Miyagi-Do's reputation has been tarnished by the school fight, and Daniel even clenches his fists, before choosing to counterpunch by reminding Kreese of the two times Miyagi easily dispatched him, which in turn breaks Kreese's smug complexion.

* DreamingOfThimesGoneBy: Miguel's coma dreams are of fighting in the Tournament.

* {{Foreshadowing}}: Kreese announces that he and Daniel will definitely fight.

* TakeThat: During the PTA meeting, Counselor Blatt tells the parents the school's new "Hugs Not Hits" initiative is "like D.A.R.E.[[note]]The "Drug Abuse Resistance Education" program created by LAPD Chief Daryl Gates, commonly used in American schools to combat drug abuse amongst its students[[/note]] except it works".

* JerkassHasAPoint: One of the angry parents at the PTA meeting tells off Daniel protesting the ban on karate, reminding him that he was the one who taught the half the kids in the brawl karate in the first place and it was Robby who put Miguel into a coma.

Having lost the Cobra Kai dojo, Johnny is now a drunken, aimless wreck. He starts a parking lot brawl with a pair of belligerent bar patrons, which results in him being beaten and arrested. Following his release from lockup, he attempts to visit Miguel in the hospital. Only family members are permitted to see patients, forcing Johnny to take an unorthodox approach to reach Miguel. When using a discarded doctor's coat to disguise himself fails, Johnny deliberately injures his head to gain admittance to the emergency room. From there, Johnny sneaks into Miguel's room, where he pleads with his student to wake up before the staff catch him and kick him out. Miguel's internal struggle is depicted as he fights a challenging opponent at the All Valley Tournament, but repeatedly finds himself on the losing end.

* CasanovaWannabe: Hawk tries to put the moves on a group of freshman girls, only to get laughed off and made fun of because they know about his bedwetting.

* DisproportionateRetribution: Yes, Johnny has every right to be pissed at those two jerkasses at the bar, but he didn't have to break into their car, pull the driver out, and start a street fight, when all they did was insult Johnny and Miguel and change the bar's TV station on him.

** Johnny tries to pull off a PaperThinDisguise by grabbing a lab coat to impersonate a doctor so he can get into the Emergency Room and see Miguel. The very first person to see him instantly figures out that he's not a doctor, since his {{fac|ial horror}}e makes clear ''he's'' the one who needs medical attention.

* SlasherSmile: Kreese flashes one of these when he first notices Daniel in the Cobra Kai dojo.

* BlatantLies: When Blatt approaches Hawk and Demetri's groups just as they're about to get confrontational, they pretend to be buddy-buddy with each other in front of her. Blatt reacts with skepticism.

* RealityEnsues:
** The brawl in the season two finale created a media firestorm that resulted in Robby and Tory being expelled, the other combatants suspended for two weeks, Stingray arrested and forced to stay away from any children (meaning that he is also forbidden to attend classes at Cobra Kai), and the parents furious at the school for their negligence, forcing them to step up on security checks to conduct on students prior to entry inside school grounds.
** The [=LaRussos=] have become social pariahs as the other parents blame Daniel for the brawl. This had an impact on the [=LaRusso=] dealership precisely because Daniel insisted on company synergy, despite karate and car sales having little in common. Louie gets hired back due to the dealership's tainted name, most people wouldn't want to work there, and so Daniel had few options for new employees. Thankfully, Louie seems to be honestly turning around at this point.
** In his fight at the car park, Johnny confidently tells the two guys he attacked that he's going to kick their asses... then falls flat on his face attempting a simple kick and gets the crap beaten out of him. No matter how much of a badass karate sensei Johnny may be, he's not going to win a fight when he's [[WorfHadTheFlu blind drunk]] and his opponents are sober.
** Hawk finds that his hyper-aggressive new attitude is starting to have diminishing results in school, especially as it was revealed to the student body he used to wet the bed and he got his ass kicked in the brawl. Conversely, without meaning to, Demetri's newfound confidence coupled with his more laidback personality (and possibly due to beating Hawk in their fight) has caused his popularity among classmates to rise.
** Even when you have a lab coat, it's very difficult to impersonate a doctor when your {{fac|ial horror}}e looks like ''you're'' the one who needs medical attention, as Johnny learns the hard way.
