* AmbiguousSituation: The ending. Did the last scenes really happen and Jane merely imagined the possibility that she died in Times Square? Or did Jane actually die and the last few scenes are merely a hallucination in her mind, or even taking place in Heaven? Jane herself looks unsure about this. WordOfGod from Martin Gero is that the ending is meant to be ambiguous and can be interpreted either way.
* BookEnds: The series began with Jane coming out of a bag in Times Square. The series ends with Jane's body being sealed into a body bag in Times Square, though whether this actually happens is left to the viewer's interpretation.
* ContinuityCavalcade: Many characters from throughout the show's run reappear in Jane's hallucinations.
* CreatorCameo: Martin Gero makes a cameo appearance as a minister at Patterson's and David's wedding in one of Jane's hallucinations.
* DyingDream: The last few scenes are suggested to possibly be a hallucination in Jane's mind as she dies.
* EarnYourHappyEnding: If the ending scenes are real, the team gets their immunity deal and are allowed to retire from the FBI and move on with their lives.
* GrandFinale: The 100th and final episode.
* TheHeroDies: One interpretation of the ending is that Jane died of the ZIP poisoning.
* WhereItAllBegan: Jane and Weller search for the ZIP bomb in Times Square, right where Jane was found at the beginning.
* WireDilemma: Jane and Weller have to disarm the ZIP bomb this way. Patterson and Rich spend a few precious seconds arguing about which wires to cut.
