Taking their friend to the hospital they [[Recap/BigFinishDoctorWho058TheHarvest first met him]], the Forge, a shady organisation the Doctor faced [[Recap/BigFinishDoctorWho023ProjectTwilight once before]] ([[Recap/BigFinishDoctorWho045ProjectLazarus and would again]] [[HaveWeMetYet in his future]]) under the leadership of [[ManipulativeBastard Nimrod]] fought a plague of alien bugs simply labelled "the contaminants". When Nimrod reveals to Hex what [[MissingMom happened to his mother]] and [[OurVampiresAreDifferent what she really was]], Hex' faith and trust in [[Creator/SylvesterMcCoy the Doctor]] is absolutely shattered and he leaves the crew of the TARDIS.
