* SurprisinglyRealisticOutcome: Deke brought handheld walkie talkies; they don't have extreme range like a more powerful device with an attached amplifier might have.

* AluminumChristmasTrees: Deke's handheld two-way radio would have been somewhat astonishing to Freddy as it was years ahead of its time... but only a few years. Portable two-way radios would be in use by police by 1933. Freddy ''definitely'' wouldn't have been confused by "radio", which had been around for decades. Koenig is also surprised to learn Jemma is a doctor. Women as doctors were quite, but not unheard of.
