* [[Blaz Blue Blazblue]] Continuum Shift... where to begin. Perhaps the ESRB just didn't review the console version, since the story mode seems to love this. Heavy cursing (to the point that only the F bomb and racial slurs are the only things not heard), EXCELLENT use of [[CallingYourAttacks Calling Your Attacks]] to censor out one particular conversation (similar to the first game's [[MemeticMutation GIGANTIC TAGER!!!]] to the point that the same character is speaking), and more than enough suggestive humor to keep you laughing for awhile. Thing is, it's only a T rated game.

** No one has mentioned ''Give Me All Your Love'' by WAKAKO yet? Come on, the song's just begging to be on here.

** That's nothing. Another female Draenei quote is: "Yes, they are real. And they can cut glass."

* "SpongeBob SquarePants: Battle for Bikini Bottom" had a cutscene where a news anchored mentioned the show "Retirement Home Girls Gone Wild." It's implied that Mermaid Man and Barnacle Boy were watching it. {{Squick}}.

** Daxter seems to be a large source of this. He makes a vibrator joke in Jak II ("Whoa, this puppy's got some vibration to it... This baby will put a smile on your face!" He says, as he rubs the item in question against his body), while in Jak 3, he claims that watching 'hot babes' prancing around gives him 'that special tingling feeling in his "tail".' SoYeah...

** Much of the humor probably wasn't past in the radar in Japan, but entirely in front of it. Consider for a moment that Don Corneo's bedspread has a giant kanji 天 on it, which means "heaven". SoYeah.

** In Seiken Densetsu 3, if you choose Angela as one of your three party members, but not the first, when she joins your party, she will blow a kiss at the scream and flaunt her apparently nude butt at the screen (this being a sprite-based game, it's open to debate)

* In [[HalfLife Half Life: Opposing Force]], in where you play as [[GasMaskMooks Corporal Adrian Shepherd]], a member of the remote [[FunWithAcronyms H.E.C.]] Unit, (which stands for "Hazardous Environment Control Unit", you get to a level where everything goes to hell. The name of the level? Foxtrot Uniform. Which is, in fact, army code for "Fucked Up".
* {{Scribblenauts}}: One level toward the end of the game is a long, vertical drop. Part of the scenery: a cat watching you through a hole in the sky. The level's introductory text: "Ceiling cat is watching you... [[LastSecondWordSwap fall]]."

** {{Scribblenauts}} is a game where you can summon almost anything. It eliminated, however, anything extremely vulgar, but several torture/exectution devices ("guillotine" and "gallows") exist in it. * CrazyTaxi managed to get F-bombs in its soundtrack in a T-rated game. The fact that its lyrics aren't always distinct helps a bit though.
* Majesty has decadent elves who are good for your economy. Their Elven Lounges drain money from heroes who go there, play a woman giggling sound effect when clicked, and has an abundance of curtains, and contributes to the vice rating along with a gambling house. Due to the way the willpower stat works there are more male heroes that go to it than female ones and monks never go there. It claims to offer ""excessive luxuries" but it's pretty clear that it's really a bordello.
* EscapeFromMonkeyIsland:

** And in [[CurseOfMonkeyIsland Curse]], Guybrush is swallowed by a snake and finds a bunch of stuff inside it. After escaping, he then falls into a pit of [[QuicksandSucks quicksand]] and loses it all. His remark?

* The [[VideoGameRemake remake]] of ''FinalFantasyVI'' slipped some crap past the radar too. In the [[AfterTheEnd world in ruin]], after you get Cyan, who is the master of the sword technique "Bushido", back in your team, you can go and open the chest with his books to see what he was reading. Most of the books are abour machines, as apparently he is trying to overcome his technophobia. However, at the very bottom of the chest you get to see that he had one volume of "Bushido In Bed". I wonder who he is going to use that ''ultimate technique'' on...

* FinalFantasyIX has a rather uncomfortable character design for Eiko: her pants are somehow cut and show part of her legs. Unfortunately, it's the inside part of her legs which is shown. Of course, she is supposed to wear slim underwear and not actually be naked, but you'd think they could have chosen a less confusing colour than ''pale pink'' for that!

* Final Fantasy VII has a whore house complete with half naked women and half naked guys that get into a hot tub with Cloud. Don Corneo, basically a pimp, who swings his hips at the girl he picks (or Cloud depending on what you put on him) and keeps a "Hyper" behind his bed. If you choose to sneak into Shinra's HQ by running up the stairs Tifa at one point crosses her legs and tells both Cloud and Barret to run above her. Between that, the allusion to Cloud and Tifa sleeping together at the end of Disc 2 (Tifa actually says "You were watching!?"), the violent content including the impalement at the end of Disc 1 and Sephiroth covered in blood at the end, plus Tifa's bounciness in the FMVs it's amazing the ESRB allowed the PSN version to still be rated T.

* FinalFantasyVIII is rated T in America and 11+ in the UK, yet it contains:

** Visibles nipples on Ultimecia's final form. Then again, in this case, [[FanDisservice we could have done without it.]]

* The [[VideoGameRemake the remake]] of ''FinalFantasyVI'' slipped some crap past the radar too. * ''[[SuperMarioBros Super Mario]] Land 2'' for the Game Boy features a world which takes place in a giant robot Mario, with the individual levels in Mario's shoe, head, etc. The theme of the level in Mario's crotch? Balls. Big, rubbery balls.
** In the Space Zone, ''Super Mario Land 2'' also has a platform shaped roughly like a fist with an extended middle finger.
** Similarly, ''Super Mario Strikers'' somehow snuck in the very famous goal animation of Waluigi ''and'' his teammates performing a [[{{WWF}} D-Generation X-style]] crotch chop. Waluigi could be written off as taken RefugeInAudacity, as he's ''meant'' to be a crude cuss (and because he sometimes aborts the celebratory action, as if to please the censors), while the rest of the team can get away with it, because they just look so silly doing it.
*** This is pretty similar as well. In ''Super Mario Galaxy'', there is a level where you have to crawl all over a gigantic Queen Bee in order to find the source of 'an itchiness' (star pieces). She writhes and has little ecstatic moans and giggles and says things like 'yes, that's the ticket!'. Can be seen [[http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=R4SrHFG6nTo_from=PL&feature=PlayList&p=453B2B09D467DF5E&playnext=1&index=13 here]], starting at the 2:12 mark.
**** The Queen Bee returns in ''Galaxy 2'', and not only does she still have an itch that needs scratching, she continues to giggle in a... ''pleasured'' manner as you crawl around on her. You have to be lucky to get the same crap throught ''twice''.

* ''[[SuperMarioBros Super Mario RPG: Legend of The Seven Stars]]'' has a variant of the classic Mario villains, "Shyguys." These versions are known "Shysters." Not very obvious to people who speak only English, but the name is phonetically identical to "Scheißter"--German for "shitter." See the entry on ''Gulliver's Travels'' above for a more classical variation of this gag.
** Shyster is a perfectly legitimate English word describing an unscrupulous person (particularly lawyers) and is derived from the aforementioned German word.
** Not to mention that "Scheißter" is not even proper German.
*** Actually, the English word "Shyster" is probably worse than "shitter" since shyster not only refers to shady, unscrupulous individuals, but it almost always carries an anti-Semitic connotation.
** Three words: ''Valentina Boss Fight''. I can't believe they got away with {{jiggle physics}}, in a ''Mario'' game.
* In the first ''PaperMario'' game, one quest involves returning a "special tape" from Goompa in Goomba Village to Koopa Koot in Koopa Village. The contents of the tape are never mentioned, save that Goompa keeps it... well hidden.
** Happens in ''The Thousand Year Door'' too, only this time with a mysterious 'package', from one Goomba to another. Add to this the fact that this delivery is made in the ''back streets'' of Rougeport, and the Goomba who're you're delivering it for tells you ''not to be seen'', well, it just speaks for itself really.
*** Hell, this happens in the third game as well. Are the censors locked in a minivan somewhere?
*** No; ''PaperMario'' just delights in testing how much it can get away with.
*** Actually, it seems that Nintendo lets Intelligent Systems get away with this sort of stuff in their games.
** Also in ''Thousand Year Door'', in the scene that occurs after bringing the second Crystal Star to the titular door, Frankly at one point says, "Too much assuming can make an... Well, you know the saying." The full phrase is "too much assuming can make an ASS out of U and ME". Having Flurrie out for this cutscene will result in her saying "Ah, yes... How inappropriate..."
* Bah... Flurrie even existing in TTYD is proof the censors probably were not even there. Also two more things. What do you think Mario is holding on to when Flurrie blows? (Yes I said it) Secondly what about Flurrie's first attack Body Slam where she literally leaps on her opponent. Not to mention the description "Flurrie crushes her enemy with her...um... stage presence.
** Wait, doesn't that just mean her size and weight in general?
*** In the German version of The Thousand-Year Door, characters have a tendency to swear. Right near the start Lord Crump does so upon defeat, and it happens a lot more often. Oddly, there is not a single swear to be found in the German version of Super Paper Mario. Did someone get fired?
** ''Super Paper Mario'' has one chapter that has you visiting what is, for all intents and purposes, a mansion in the American Deep South waited upon by slaves. In fact, you become enslaved yourself. Of course, depiction isn't avocation; the mansion owner is a villain with [[NightmareFuel disturbing powers]], and you get to kick the crap out of her at the chapter's end.
* Also in TTYD, TEC, the main computer at the X-Naut base where Peach is being held captive, develops a crush on her. There is a bathroom in her chamber, in which it is possible for her to shower. (Guess what TEC can probably see.) Also, one of the tasks she has to complete involves [[spoiler: drinking an invisibility potion that doesn't affect her clothing, so she has to remove her dress in order to proceed.]] [[SoYeah So... yeah.]]
* ''[[MarioandLuigi Bowser's Inside Story]]'' has one of the Monty Moles use the term "brogurt" as a slang term for brother. "Brogurt" is also a slang term for spooge.
** {''ahem''} Rump Command, anyone? This is the area Mario and Luigi travel to inside Bowser's body to make him enlarge... by manipulating various colored balls... [[SoYeah Yeah...]]
*** To be fair, both the arms and stomach areas also contain such balls.
**Don't forget Fawful's line, "It is I who added the nuts to that statue!" It doesn't SOUND like he's talking about the statue acting crazy...

* In ''[[SonicTheHedgehog Sonic Heroes]]'', Amy will sometimes say "Oh my God!" when she's falling in one level. In a game about colourful hedgehogs, foxes and echidnas fighting against an egg-shaped scientist. The game was rated as suitable for pretty much all ages.
** Notice that the game received flak for being ''too'' kiddy. Make of that what you will.
** Speaking of "too kiddy", an ongoing dispute since ''Sonic Adventure'' was released in 1999 rages: just what exactly did the singer say at 1 minute in to ''My Sweet Passion (Theme of Amy Rose)''? Just [[http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=pXHw8o6UI9M listen]] to the lyrics all the way through. Consensus: "The Sphinx looked so cute, I had to shave it." In a sultry voice. And the song was long enough to be played during Amy's end credits ''sans'' lyric-masking dialogue.
** And in ''Sonic Adventure 2 Battle'', one of the Dark Chao's special attacks is titled "Hell Bomber". In the GameCube remake of ''Sonic Adventure'', a mission description refers to Red Mountain Zone as "Hell".
*** Your Mileage May Vary. Hell is actually a rather mild word depending on how you look at it. Hell can describe a blazing, inferno-filled place or just, hell. Also, ''ShadowTheHedgehog'', a spin-off game from the series, is littered with overused swearing, contains blood and death, and features guns and vehicles as its main mechanic. It received an E-10. Meanwhile, a [[SuperSmashBros game about Mario, Link, Pikachu and Captain Falcon, among others duking it out,]] and a Donkey Kong game got a ''T''.
*** Well, to be fair, the E10 rating didn't exist around the time of ''Super Smash Bros Melee''. No excuse for ''Brawl'' though.
*** Also, to put ''Shadow'' into perspective, Maria's death was there ever since he was introduced in ''Adventure 2''. It just played out like the DeadLittleSister trope. Also, the blood is ''purple'', and from the Black Arms, an alien race.
**** It was actually self-Bowdlerised because the developers didn't want the ESRB slapping a Teen rating on it.
*** Red Mountain features imprisoned ghosts in the PC version. Sonic drowns them in lava.
** ''SonicChronicles'' managed to pack a bit in. Hoo boy, [[MsFanservice Rouge]]. And Amy: "You'll get Rouge germs all over you!" You'd think she'd be too old to believe GirlsHaveCooties...
*** All through the game, Amy taunts Sonic with tales of her made-up boyfriend Dexter in an attempt to make him jealous. Long after she's forgotten the ruse, she's attempting to discourage Sonic from doing something dangerous and something like the following exchange occurs (Sorry, this is from memory):

** ''Sonic Adventure 2'' was rated 3+ in Britain (pre-PEGI, games were rated by the ELSPA, which didn't put content descriptors on the box), perhaps surprising when you consider that the lyrics of the Wild Canyon stage contain blatant references to Rouge being "sexy" and how Knuckles wants to "get her with his tools" and is "feeling her in mysterious ways". Not to mention how they got away with those [[JigglePhysics jiggle physics]].
*** Also included in the lyrics to the Wild Canyon stage is the line "they wanna play with my emeralds?", and considering that the phrase 'the family jewels' is often used an a euphemism for...[[UnusualEuphemism down there]]....well...
*** Technically, everything jiggled in that game. Sonic and Shadow's spikes jiggled, Eggman's badass mustache jiggled, Knuckles' dreads, Rouge's ears, wings, and...other endowments...erhem....
*** And the [[http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=YnXXDbai-tQ final boss]]. The fact that it's a moaning, writhing beast which shoots lasers from its underside could be unintentional, but where's the Eclipse Cannon pointing?
** One of ''Sonic 2'''s scrapped zones was named "Genocide City", until the Japanese developers found out what "Genocide" means (they were looking for a [[GratuitousEnglish "strong"]] word, but not ''that'' strong), changed the name to "Cyber City" and eventually did away with the level, turning it into Metropolis Zone Act 3. Still, the final zone in the game is named ''Death'' Egg and ''Sonic 3&K'' later had ''Doomsday''.
*** Given that the Death Egg is a blatant Death Star expy and kids watch StarWars movies, that was probably easy to get away with. Plus, you know, I doubt much attention was paid.
** Nobody mentioned the finisher of the Dark Queen in SonicandtheBlackKnight? Excalibur's line "there's nothing Excalibur can't cut through" right after Sonic runs her through (which in itself is a bit edgy for a kid's game), combined with the moans and screams Merlina made had this troper thinking something else. it didn't help that Sonic's response is a thumbs up.
** What? No mention of ''SonicTheHedgehog2006'' and how it pretty much implied that Elise was not only into animals (a YOUNGER than her one at that, as well), but she even kissed a dead Sonic. What's worse? That she made out with an animal, or a corpse?
*** Also, in that same game, Shadow had a tendency to sneak glances at Rouge's... eh... bazooms. He even trailed off and just stared before Rouge looks at him and he looks to the side nervously.
*** And Shadow's comment about Mephiles' "lust to fuel Iblis" until Time pretty much collapses. It doesn't help that Iblis is implied to be a male as well as technically Mephiles' twin... and that of all the characters that Mephiles interacted with as far as interest and speaking, where also males. And that Mephiles' exclamation joy or whatever when Iblis was finally able to reunite with him was very interesting as well ("At long last, I will able to join with you... IBLIS!"), holding his arms out as if wanting to hug him. He also never once looks at the girls, and his depicted fighting style includes twirls and flips in the air while chuckling and... oy... this troper could go on her favorite bad guy from this series. Not that that's all bad, but one must wonder how that got by so easily.
** In ''SonicUnleashed'', there is a character that is implied to be either gay or bisexual, at least in the 360/PS3 version in Empire City's hub world. He even cracks a few suggestive comments to Sonic, going as far as fawning over his muscular build in Werehog form, and how Sonic's moves makes him "tingle with excitement". Too make it even more humorous, he is seen walking in the strerotypical gay style. This troper (the very one who added the last three entries as well) actually comments that that character is one of her favorite background ones in the series.
