* BattleCouple: Vallus and Baranith play this one straight as a hulking brutish bodyguard for a fragile cleric healer. At least, [[spoiler: until she rejects him]], and then Vallus and [[spoiler: Jadzia]] continue the tradition.

* BlackKnight: Actoronis, [[spoiler: specifically the Death Knight version of a black knight]], although he is [[DarkIsNotEvil probably one of the nicest examples]] ever seen.

* CrouchingMoronHiddenBadass: Poe Tutillo. The first episode he's in has him running scared from Una and pissing himself, then he starts punching Dragonborn in the throat, [[spoiler: before revealing that he's a high-ranking spy for the White Ravens.]]

** The Giant in the armored suit behind Carter.

** Ironhide - My kids? Oh, I ate them.

* FaceHeelTurn: Rodswell pulls one by jumping from Group 1 to [[spoiler: the Overwatch]].

* LightIsNotGood: Rodswell, namely in that he's literally a cleric of the Sun, and he abandons and betray Group 1 due to not feeling respected enough. He then joins the [[ANaziByAnyOtherName Overwatch]] and gives them the location of the [[LaResistance White Ravens]].
* LighterAndSofter: The D.R.P. group was supposed to be this, but the fight that takes place in the second episode leaves the group stuck in an underground tomb between flaming skeletons and other untold traps, a far step from the shenanigans of the first episode, although it was still pretty funny.

** Not really explored as of yet, but Thoril is in one with Talia and Ian Serverus.
** Also Vallus, Baranith, and [[spoiler: Jadzia]].
** Malchus, Briahna, and Una definitely qualify on an emotional/moral level, but the degree to which romantic love exists between any of them is hotly debated.

* MaybeMagicMaybeMundane: Malchus' vision of Winterhaven after he nearly dies could be put down to hallucinating from blood loss, his own subconscious fears and anxieties, or to residual effects of magic from the [[spoiler: 17-year time skip ]].
* MayDecemberRomance:

** Duncan and Marcus are subversions for the men (as a spoony bard, Duncan's physical abilities are comparably low and Marcus breaks down if he hurts a bloodied enemy) while Yenward is a massive mountain of a minotaur.
** On the female side, you have Thalia and Tessia (noblewoman and semi-defenseless shopkeeper) versus Briahna and Liara (psionic berserker and a vampire hunter)

* MerlinAndNimue: Darmok and Jadzia, albeit with a twist from the traditional morality assignments. Difference is that Jadzia had to become a warlock on her own specifically to escape from Darmok.

* MillionToOneChance: Played painfully straight. One power of the Rod of Wonder is the ability to completely resurrect one person who has ever lived on Theria. The one time this power goes off, [[spoiler: it revives Duncan, the first main PC to die.]]

** There's a notable (unintended) subversion, where one of the [=PC=]s reacts poorly to the idea that the gladiator orcs the party is fighting are captured slaves, forced to fight for their freedom. [[spoiler: This ends up driving most of Group 1 and 3's plots for much of the series.]]

* MoralityKitchenSink: With kleptomaniac and childish minotaurs, racist and conquering dwarves, lawful good warpriests who [[spoiler: turn traitor against the party to fuel their ego]], and clerics who [[spoiler: steal scrolls of resurrection to revive an NPC that they have feelings for]], most of the [=PC=]s, if not all of Theria, fulfills this trope.

** That said, almost every other member of Group 1 feels this way about vampires, [[spoiler: leading to Ironhide sitting out the fight against Edward]].

* RagtagBunchOfMisfits: Groups 1 and 2 both fit this. Group 3 is getting closer to this as well.

* SpotlightStealingSquad: Group 3, after their debut, were having episodes featuring them posted nearly every week, compared to the almost month long gaps between Groups 1 and 2 sessions. This did allow their characters to quickly reach the same power level as the other groups though.

* AnyoneCanDie: Played straight, hard. Any PC can get themselves in over their heads.

Dungeons and Randomness is a [[TabletopGame/DungeonsAndDragons D&D]] podcast that started in late October 2012 as extra content for the TWR network. Jason Massey is the DM/GM and him and his three groups get together(when schedules allow) for a weekly episode in the fantasy world of Theria and do everything from save the day to razing most of a town. * HilariousInHindsight: In the episode when Group 1 meets Briahna, It's offhandedly mentioned that "It would be funny if she turned to be some kind of [[DragonballZ Gohan]] or something". Then they meet back up with her after the time skip...

* Retcon: Jason originally had a full system for managing Thoril's vampirism, but decided the next episode to drop it so that the whole campaign wouldn't focus on him.
