%% ** "Sidetracked" is full of Canadian references.

dewicked Belly Dancer

* BellyDancer:
** Carl briefly dresses up as one during the "Carl, Incognito" song in "Undercover Carl".
** Some are featured in Uncle Sabu's "Rubber Bands, Rubber Balls" musical sequence from the "Summer Belongs to You" special.

** In one episode, someone pitches ideas for an "inaction figure" based on Perry the Platypus, one of which is "The Mad Marauding Marsupial of Death." Right continent, wrong order. The platypus is a monotreme, not a marsupial.[[note]]Thankfully, the creators took notice of this and have later episodes platypodes described as monotremes[[/note]] Ferb has also stated that the platypus is the only mammal that lays eggs; apparently, he's never heard of echidnas. Also, in one episode Phineas states that platypuses are supposed to stay inside at night. One problem, platypuses are mostly nocturnal (on the other hand, this may be why a pet platypus is supposed to be kept inside at night). Perry's behavior and appearance in general is nothing like that of normal platypodes (yes, that's the plural). He doesn't have webbed hands/front feet and his tail is more like a beaver's (the platypus is covered in fur all but for their bills and feet). Overlooking all this is seemingly played for RuleOfCool, though.

Added DiffLines:

* BreakoutCharacter: The show may have been called "Phineas and Ferb", but three-quarters of the way through the show, it may as well just be called "The Doof and Perry Show". It had gotten to the point where the Phineas and Ferb plotline was either DemotedToExtra or reduced to a FunnyBackgroundEvent.

* CameraObscurer:
** In "Raging Bully", Candace manages to nab a photo of the thumb-wrestling match, but when she takes it to Linda, she reveals she had her thumb over the lens, obscuring it.
** In "Atlantis", Irving resorts to taking imaginary pictures of the trip to Atlantis after an eel steals his camera; in TheStinger, he claims he had his thumb over the lens the whole time, so all he remembers is his thumb.
** In "La Candace Cabra", the boys' photographic evidence of the Chupacabra were obscured in various ways, sometimes showing their fingers blocking it.

* BaffledByOwnBiology: In "[[Recap/PhineasAndFerbDoesThisDuckbillMakeMeLookFat Does This Duckbill Make Me Look Fat?]]", the boys' latest invention cause Candace and Perry to [[FreakyFridayFlip switch bodies]]. Candace has trouble adjusting to her new platypus body, like when she finds herself lactating through her pores. Perry also seems to have trouble adjusting to combat without his large platypus tail.
-->'''Candace:''' Am I sweating milk? Being a platypus is so gross!

* CrazyWorkplace: The O.W.C.A directs "secret agents" -- vaguely {{Intellectual Animal}}s who foil a designated supervillain daily. One especially bad mishap at headquarters ended with a goat eating documents and Carl (one of the few human employees) locked in a dog cage.
