** Studied under the House of Pantheon/ElementalPairings, who the oxymoronic Volcanion can relate to as they often deal with opposing elements. There, Volcanion found its partner in the form of Zia Rashid, as she also represents FireWaterJuxtaposition.

** Despite being one of the most aggressive and solitary Pokémon, Giratina does have some experience in traveling to other worlds and realms. One such place that intrigued the distortion dragon was the [[VideoGame/TheLegendOfZeldaTwilightPrincess Twilight Realm]] which was looked after by its monarch's princess, Midna. While both differed greatly in their demeanor, they shared a common similarity in more than just their affiliation with darkness and their control of antimatter; they belonged to distant realms and were the subject of being used and manipulated as well as initially being too unscrupulous before coming to a realization and dedicating itself to defending their realm. Though Giratina's territorial instincts were intact, [[VideoGame/PokemonLegendsArceus its experience in the past, especially regarding a devious merchant named Volo]] convinced the Pokémon to reel back its supposed malice and try to be a defensive force. It had enough respect for Midna in that regard as she saved her realm and Hyrule from possible doom at the hands of [[Pantheon/EvilActions Ganon]] and her usurper, Zant, whom Giratina saw contemptuously as he was willing to jeopardize and ruin everyone for the sake of power and maintaining his place as ruler, however bad he was at actual leadership, and it didn't help that Zant tried to capture Giratina for his own goals, only to reel back after grossly underestimating the dragon's power and ferocity. After a while, plus a few encounters, Midna saw an opportunity to befriend the Distortion Pokémon, which was reciprocated positively. Both have maintained a strong partnership since.
