* The adventures of Buzz Lightyear is something a bit odd, as instead of the show already being known by people; it was actually a ShowWithinAShow that the toy version of Buzz was based on it. It was only when the superiors of Buzz decided to make a full-fledged show based on the toy did these adventures became well known. In the show, Buzz is a legitimate space ranger, fighting crime alongside his partners, the fighter princess Mira Nova, [[AscendedFanboy the janitor turned space ranger Booster]], [[PluckyComicRelief and the comedic robot XR]]. Due to this superhero team being a very competent SpacePolice, they were chosen to ascend.
** Their ascension was first noticed when they received a call from Star Command via Commander Nebula saying that Zurg has been located somewhere in a place called the Pantheon and that they were summoned not only for their bravery but also to help keep Zurg and other villains in control. He then sent them instructions of how to get to the Pantheon, where they found Zurg, who has just allied with Crow after paying him with enough cash to help him launch an attack on the house of Pantheon/{{Heroism}} to steal some weaponry. Zurg was busy boasting about how there was no Buzz Lightyear or Star Command to save the house from the combined wrath of his hornets and Crow's minions. However, this just led into...

Toy Buzz filled in Team Lightyear that the Toy Zurg underwent a HeelFaceTurn after being reunited with his son, another Toy Buzz that believed he was the real Buzz and that Zurg was his real father. Both Buzz and even Zurg can be seen scratching their heads in confusion, because as far as the real Zurg and Buzz are concerned, [[https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=vdt2h37HJy4 he just tried to claim that he was his father as a trick to distract him]].
*** Upon hearing how Darth Vader actually said something along those lines to Luke [[LukeIAmYourFather only because it was actually true]], Team Lightyear decided to listen in and hear from Luke about Darth Vader, considering that [[{{Expy}} Zurg is seemingly based off of him]]. They were pleased to find out he committed a HeelFaceTurn like Toy Zurg and only really treat him as an enemy in his Darth Vader form because Luke filled them in that [[TheMole he's just pretending to weed out information and on how to stop Sheev Palpatine once and for all by usurping him]]. Despite this, they aren't afraid to make their hatred for Emperor Palpatine known.
** As a fellow SpacePolice member, Hal Jordan was more than happy to see Team Lightyear ascend, and has since been allied with them for missions. He is also considering giving the members Green Lantern rings to give them a bit more power. While Buzz, Booster, and Mira seem fine enough as they are, XR is more than hoping that Hal decides to follow through.
*** They also became allies with Hayato and June due to them also being members of a SpacePolice fighting against a dark empire. This also led them into becoming enemies to Catherine Rain Bilstein, who is not only an enemy to Hayato and June as a part of the empire they were fighting against but is also a space villainess. Buzz is just thankful that she doesn't have a crush on him like Gravitina.
** Timmy Turner is fascinated by Team Lightyear, as he is reminded a bit of [[ShowWithinAShow Crash Nebula]], which is, funnily enough, another AffectionateParody of merchandise-driven shows, set in space no less. Timmy also wonders if Buzz can beat [[https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=mLjpY95YHLc the Crimson Chin]], given how his superior stated that even Crash Nebula couldn't beat the Crimson Chin.
** In their temple can be found [[https://vignette.wikia.nocookie.net/blosc/images/9/92/Xl_fax.png/revision/latest?cb=20120426161838 a sentient copying machine by the name of XL]]. He was originally XR's predecessor before going rouge [[https://vignette.wikia.nocookie.net/blosc/images/0/0d/XL.png/revision/latest?cb=20111011211229 and had a much more menacing form]]. It was only after almost dying by NOS-4-A2 did he perform a HeelFaceTurn and came back to Star Command. Nowadays he's trying to get his creator, Commander Nebula, [[WellDoneSonGuy to be proud of him]]. XR understands this plight and can be seen plotting with XL with how to get his approval.
** There is no secret that they consider allies of Zurg enemies to them. Buzz is constantly bantering with Crow on whenever [[TheGoodGuysAlwaysWin the good guys will win]] [[TheBadGuysWin or lose to the bad guys]], which gradually just turns into a shouting match between the two. They also have taken up fighting Dracula as they were quickly reminded of NOS-4-A2 from him, and while he still freaks XR out, he's just thankful that the actual NOS-4-A2 hasn't ascended. The same can't be said for Love Machine and XANA, with them both able to corrupt technology like the technological vampire they know. XR decides to better be safe than sorry and stays far away from the house of [[Pantheon/AIPersonalities AI Personalities]] and [[Pantheon/DigitalPersonas Digital Personas]] unless it is for a mission.
** They could only let out a sigh as they heard that a team called Team Rocket was already in the Pantheon, already imagining their leader, Rocket Crockett, bragging about getting there first. They received good news that the team that ascended under the title wasn't THEIR Team Rocket, meaning they still ascended first, but the bad news was that it was essentially a bounty hunting team that captured Pokémon. [[GoldfishPoopGang Thankfully they really don't have to treat them as a threat]]... [[TookALevelInBadass sometimes]].
* Buzz only:
** Despite being a stickler for the rules, he is more than willing to bend the rules should it be for the greater good. Due to this, he has become an ally of Yuri Lowell who is known for doing such a thing as well. Although this also led to him being the target of confusion with Symmetra, whom on one hand doesn't like the idea of Buzz going against the rules for the greater good, but is also impressed that Buzz himself help wrote down a good half of the rules.
** Due to their stances of [[TheGoodGuysAlwaysWin believing heroes will always triumph over villains]] and the fact that [[LanternJawOfJustice they both have very heroic jaws]], the Crimson Chin became a fast ally of Buzz Lightyear., and just like Timmy, is looking forward to a friendly sparring contest between him and Buzz to determine who is better.
** He has expressed sympathy for Tatsumi from Night Raid for being crushed on by a villainess, Esdeath, just like how another villainess, Gravitina has a crush on him. Buzz does, however, think that there is SOMEONE out there that could love Esdeath, just not Tatsumi. Esdeath quickly put Buzz on her hit list as she sees him as another roadblock between her and Tatsumi.

He has befriended the other poker players, most noticeably Sam and Max for also being crimefighters who are willing to take a part in a round or two of Poker.
