* ''Webcomic/{{Orbit}}'' has been abandoned since March 2010, after the artist announced that he'd prefer to work on something that challenged his art skills more (as ''Orbit'' was, by his own admission, a CutAndPasteComic).

** His several other concluded webcomics are ''not'' examples of this trope, as they've been either planned from the start as short-run projects with a definite end point (''Webcomic/RipAndTeri'', ''Webcomic/{{Webmasters}}'') or long-running series with a GrandFinale (''Cool Cat Studio,'' ''Webcomic/PennyAndAggie'', ''Webcomic/{{Fans}}'' [[[TheRevival twice]]]).

* ''Cool Cats Studio'' fell into this, though it was revived and given a proper ending in September of 2008.

* ''Bard Quest'' from ''Webcomic/MSPaintAdventures'' was abandoned after only a few dozen pages when the branching storylines became too confusing and complicated to bother with. ''Webcomic/JailBreak'' was also orphaned for a few years, but finally got an ending during the break before ''Webcomic/{{Homestuck}}'''s end of act 5 flash.

* ''[[http://www.krakowstudios.com/charlie/ Charliehorse]]'' was Krakow Studios' ongoing webcomic prior to ''{{Spinnerette}}'' (Having actually wrapped up ''Webcomic/{{Krakow}}'' and ''Webcomic/{{Marilith}}''). Put on hiatus then officially declared dead, due to a combination of concentrating on ''Spinnerette'' and considering ''Charliehorse'' not very good - with the occasional inspired strip.

* ''Everlasting Wanderers'', a ''RagnarokOnline'' based webcomic, initially started off as a series of oneshots and random plots. However, once a MythArc started forming, the updates suddenly ceased and site has since then been taken down due to lack of payment. The author did repost it to his [[http://everwander.deviantart.com/art/comic-001-first-day-89178909 deviantart]] but it's still updated rarely -- if ever.

* ''Spellshocked''. A furry[[note]]the cast included humans, PettingZooPeople, dragons, a cockatrice, and stranger things, like the InvoluntaryShapeshifter headmaster, who had the cause of the last world war sealed inside him[[/note]] comic about a quarter-dragon from a family of actors enrolling into a magical academy and immediately befriending an accident-prone sophomore GadgeteerGenius, a gray fox. Featured really nice art, likable characters, deeply fleshed-out "post-fantasy" MagiTech world with DarkAndTroubledPast. The first incarnation started on Keenspace (now ComicGenesis) in 2000, immediately received a lot of positive reviews, praising its potential, but ground to a halt in the middle of an impromptu play telling the world's backstory (there were rumours of creative team's RL problems). The strip was rebooted in 2001, went into a slightly different direction, moved to a site of its own and halted again. The author tried to continue or restart the story several more times, meanwhile filling the site with more background info. The site has since fallen into disarray, but at least two partial archives still exists: [[http://spellshocked.comicgenesis.com/d/20010101.html CG archive start]], [[http://spellshocked.comicgenesis.com/d/20020215.html end]]; [[http://delyria.com/spellshocked/ Delyria chapter 1 index]].
