** "[[Recap/CaptainPlanetAndThePlaneteersS1E1AHeroForEarth A Hero for Earth]]": During the AvengersAssemble sequence, a mugger raises his chain to attack a man he has pinned against a wall when the chain gets yanked from his hand. Turning around, he sees [[BruiserWithASoftCenter Wheeler]], fists balled. The thug's jaw falls open in terror and he immediately beats it.

** "[[Recap/CaptainPlanetAndThePlaneteersS1E4SkummLord Skumm Lord]]": After a mission goes wrong, Kwame and Ma-Ti try to escape from Skumm, taking the other Planeteers (who are all mutated by Skumm's rat-person potion) with them. As the geocruiser takes off, Kwame asks Ma-Ti (who's driving) if he's ever piloted the machine before. Ma-Ti confesses that he hasn't, except for a simulator on Hope Island. Kwame spends the entire flight going through a nervous breakdown.

** "[[Recap/CaptainPlanetAndThePlaneteersS2E1MindPollution Mind Pollution]]" gives two to Verminous Skumm: Skumm starts a TakeOverTheWorld plot using a designer drug called Bliss, even getting Linka hooked using contaminated food to prevent Captain Planet from interfering. When the team manages to summon him anyway, [[OOCIsSeriousBusiness the normally jovial superhero]] goes into TranquilFury mode as he [[ThisIsUnforgivable calls Skumm out on how low his scheme]] ''[[ThisIsUnforgivable du jour]]'' [[ThisIsUnforgivable was]] and says he should dose him with his own drug. Skumm immediately shifts from smug to alarmed as he begs the Captain not to make him an addict. (He doesn't.) Then, after Skumm's defeat, he eats a piece of cheese and [[GettingHighOnTheirOwnSupply then realizes the cheese he ate had a Bliss pill in it]], and crawls over to the river to see that sure enough, [[LaserGuidedKarma he's undergoing its effects.]]
** Two examples in "[[Recap/CaptainPlanetAndThePlaneteersS2E23HateCanal Hate Canal]]":
*** A local pathologist notices two formerly normal rats starting to mutate. Wheeler yells at Ma-Ti (who's the closest) to look out; Ma-Ti's eyes widen as he backs away...a bit too late to keep the rat from biting him.
*** Skumm is irritated when Captain Planet shows up...and then he realizes that the captain just redirected the torpedoes he shot into Venice's canals back at his lair. He goes wide-eyed and bolts for the exit.
** In "[[Recap/CaptainPlanetAndThePlaneteersS2E25FareTheeWhale Fare Thee Whale]]", Looten Plunder is dismayed when Captain Planet shows up for the second time during the episode.

* Tom in ''WesternAnimation/{{Chaotic}}'' gets a fantastic one in the episode "Battle Lessons". During the episode, Tom meets and subsequently befriends a mysterious player named Kit, who soon decides to challenge him to a battle to get Tom over the loss of his scan of Maxxor, his favorite creature, due to being forced to trade it away a few episodes prior. After getting repeatedly [[CurbStompBattle curb-stomped]] by Kit's strange creature and locations, Tom nearly goes to quit the match when Kit finally reveals who he really is.

** In the episode "Seer No Evil", Monterey Jack has one when he realizes that he, Gadget, and Dale are in a trunk, which is the last of the fortune teller's predictions that ends with Chip's death. [[spoiler: He doesn't die after all.]]

* In ''WesternAnimation/{{Jumanji}}'', Ibsen has quite a few of these, his response is often a small, weak "Oh dear" or some variation.

** [=SpongeBob=] and Patrick get a really huge one in unison in "That Sinking Feeling" when Squidward comes right around the corner and they have nowhere left to run.
** Both [=SpongeBob=] and Patrick in "That Sinking Feeling" when they are unable to dig out Squidward's house and are about to face his furious wrath. And they get another humongous one when they have nowhere left to go and he comes round the bend and closes in on them.

** Sandy in "Valentine's Day" when she sees the chocolate-eating scallops flying toward her, meaning she is going to be late in delivering Patrick's valentine leading to his UnstoppableRage. And [=SpongeBob=] has an even bigger one when he is being cornered against the dock by Patrick meaning he is about to receive a total wallop until Sandy arrives just in time.

** Squidward in "I Was a Teenage Gary" after he is injected with the snail plasma through his nose.

** In one ColdOpening, Wildcat is confused as to why he should be careful around Bane, noting how scrawny he looks. By the time he looks back, Bane's beefed up on Venom, causing the elder hero to utter "Oh, crud..."

** Of course, it turns out he was right but it still counts.

** ''WesternAnimation/JusticeLeague

*** There's a pretty priceless one early on when ComicBook/LexLuthor is informed that while humans are mostly unaffected by Kryptonite, studies have shown that it can cause blood poisoning in terrestrial life if the subject is exposed for a long period of time. Lex happens to carry some around in his pocket.

*** At the end of the episode "This Little Piggy", when ComicBook/{{Zatanna}} is magically tossing things at Circe:

They stand ready to face the villain... who brings out a mind-controlled Franchise/WonderWoman. Four to one odds and they're still in big trouble.

Regular Gothamite [[ButtMonkey Charlie Collins]] is driving home after a miserable day at work when some jerk cuts him off on the freeway. Charlie pulls alongside the other driver, rolls down his window, and proceeds to [[GoshDangItToHeck cuss and threaten the other driver]]... until said driver turns and gives him a [[ComicBook/TheJoker BIGGGG smile]]. Charlie's face is pretty much distilled OhCrap at that point.\\\

*** "[[Recap/SupermanTheAnimatedSeriesS3E8SupermansPal Superman's Pal]]" gave Metallo a brief one when he realized that ComicBook/JimmyOlsen had just removed his Kryptonite power source. He has time for a brief shriek before he collapses.

* In ''WesternAnimation/LegionOfSuperHeroes'', when Imperiex realises that by [[spoiler:turning the sun yellow, Brainiac 5 effectively turns the whole population of Kandor into Supermen]].

* In ''WesternAnimation/TheMagicSchoolBus'', this is Keesha's {{catchphrase}} for when things are going south in any given episode.

** [[TeenGenius Varian]] has one in [[spoiler:Cassandra’s Revenge]] when he realizes [[spoiler:Cassandra is going to kidnap him to get the Third Incantation out of him]].

* Several times during the 2003 ''[[WesternAnimation/TeenageMutantNinjaTurtles2003 Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles]]'' series, especially involving The Shredder.

* ''WesternAnimation/YoungJustice2010''

** While not verbal, "Antisocial Pathologies" sees ComicBook/VandalSavage have a horrified look and break a tablet in half [[spoiler:upon hearing the Ultra-Humanite inform him that Granny, thanks to capturing Halo, now has the key to the Anti-Life Equation.]]

*** The look of fear and shock on everyone's faces afterwards is amazingly effective.

* ''WesternAnimation/TimeSquad'', the main three characters are prone to giving these looks whenever something terrifying is about to go down, for example when an airplane flown by the Wright Brothers or an evil My Little Pony comes charging after them.

** ''WesternAnimation/TheNewBatmanAdventures'': In the episode [[TheNewBatmanAdventuresE7JokersMillions "Joker's Millions"]], the Joker finds himself royally screwed when he realizes that the windfall inheritance he got from dead rival "King" Barlowe [[spoiler:was mostly CounterfeitCash in a posthumous prank at his arch-enemy's expense. Barlowe also [[ThanatosGambit knew]] the clown would waste the real cash quickly and now has to choose between three options: become Gotham's ButtMonkey for admitting a dead man conned him (which he ''won't'' do), get jailed for tax evasion (which he won't do either), or return to crime so he can save his reputation from being [[OnceDoneNeverForgotten sullied]]. Joker's reaction to this is to shoot the [[SpitefulWill Spiteful]] VideoWill in anger]].

* ''WesternAnimation/TheVentureBrothers'': Dr. Venture pretty much whenever he screws up or pisses someone off.

** "[[Recap/CaptainPlanetAndThePlanteersS1E3BeastOfTheTemple Beast of the Temple]]": The team goes to Thailand to investigate something mysterious wrecking the fields and Gi's friend Nuo says some people claim it's a dragon. Wheeler treats this dubiously, but then the dragon shows up and he and the others run for it.

** "Heat Wave": Dr. Blight, having set up Hope Island's destruction, is leaving when MAL notes a wave coming and says someone must have broken the force field. She dismisses it as impossible, only to yell a freaked BigWhat when she turns around and sees he's absolutely right. Their vehicle gets swamped soon afterwards.

* On ''WesternAnimation/DrawnTogether'', Xainder has these a lot, more often than not due to Captain Hero.

** This is Wile E. Coyote's standard expression whenever he realizes his plans are about to [[HoistByHisOwnPetard backfire yet again]], which is about every thirty seconds or so.

*** Most Creator/WarnerBros characters say that or "... mother." See: Sylvester the Cat and even WesternAnimation/BugsBunny.
** Even Bugs Bunny had moments like this; once in a MadScientistLaboratory when he sees the Hyde-like monster behind him, and again when he accidentally takes off in a rocket and looks down to see the Earth falling away below him, and an epic one in ''Rebel Rabbit'' when he saw the ''whole US Army'' coming after him... And then there's ''WesternAnimation/WhatsOperaDoc'' when Elmer shows his magic helmet's power for the first time.

* Dr. Venture of ''WesternAnimation/TheVentureBrothers'' pretty much whenever he screws up or pisses someone off.

** In "Tea At The Treedome", Patrick gets a massive one once he starts to dehydrate inside the treedome:

*** By Rapunzel again when Pascal jumps into the gears of the Demanitus Device to un-jam the gears and potentially risk his life in the process.

* ''WesternAnimation/ThomasAndFriends'' uses this a lot. Each engine model has a scared face that's absolutely perfect for this. Commonly seen when an engine's train becomes a {{runaway|Train}}. A good one would be in "Old Iron". James is cruising along light engine (due to some naughty boys climbing into his cab and playing with his controls), enjoying himself. Then he notices he's going faster and faster, and realizes his cab is empty. "What shall I do? I can't stop! '''HELP! HELP!'''"

*** When Luthor fuses with Brainiac, he's just too strong for the League and knocks them all out in seconds with only Wonder Woman providing a serious inconvenience by throwing her plane into the building and only the Flash able to stand afterward. The Flash then turns to run away... so he can loop back with enough force to actually damage Brainthor. He takes the impact and the Flash is already gone, leaving a shocked Oh No on his face as he realizes he cannot ''possibly'' react to the Flash quickly enough to stop him. [[LetsGetSerious Half his armor is blown off in seconds before the Flash knocks him down and just rips him apart barehanded.]]
