* Cheesy as it is, the idea of a killer reenacting urban legends to kill people is chilling when you know the ones that are plausible-sounding are no less cruel and vicious than the outlandish ones.
* The lead-up to Michelle's death is brilliant. She's thoroughly creeped out by the gas station attendant (the fact that he's played by Creator/BradDourif certainly doesn't help), especially when he grabs her and tries to keep her from leaving. Thinking that he's trying to rape her, she pepper sprays him and gets into her car. During the entire struggle, it sounds like he's [[CannotSpitItOut trying to say something to her, but his severe stutter makes it practically intelligible]]. It's only after she speeds away that we chillingly discover what he was trying to say...and that it was actually a ''warning''...

* Tosh's murder and Natalie finding her body the next morning. There's something unnerving about ''finding your dead roommate's body in her bed'' and the phrase "'''''AREN’T YOU GLAD YOU DIDN'T TURN ON THE LIGHT?'''''" smeared on the wall above ''your bed'' with [[CouldntFindAPen her blood]]. Picasso be darned.
