* "Dream a Little Dream" had scenes based on [[NightmareFuel/{{Disney}} the "Night on Bald Mountain" sequence from]] ''WesternAnimation/{{Fantasia}}'' but not as scary. It also had much more horrifying segments for Billy and Grim's nightmares. Billy initially is overjoyed to be in a seemingly tranquil, beautiful and lovable place that is SickeninglySweet. Then he finds the cute little baby rabbits that transform into nightmarish monsters that chase him. However, Billy ends up running right into a horde of killer rabbits. ** In Billy's dream,
Billy initially is overjoyed to be in a seemingly tranquil, beautiful and lovable place that is SickeninglySweet. Then he finds the cute little baby rabbits that transform into huge, nightmarish monsters that chase him. He tries to save the last baby rabbit, but then it too transforms into a monster in his own hands. He then tries to escape the rabbit hole, and almost gets dragged back down by the monsters below. When he gets out, the rabbit hole transforms into a huge mountain that the now gigantic monsters erupt out of to continue chasing him. However, Billy ends up running right into a horde of killer rabbits. rabbits with sharp claws and huge wicked grins, who don't even move but just vacantly grin at him. And this is where we stop, but Billy's reaction the next morning makes clear the killer rabbits did a number on him.
**
Grim, meanwhile, dreams of the unfortunate reality he's stuck in - he's Mandy's eternal slave, and at the end is beaten up by an army of Mandy clones.clones. Even when he beheads some of them, they just keep coming and doubling their ranks.
-->'''Mandy''': '''Give up. Give in.'''
** Finally, the last segment is a parody of the [[NightmareFuel/{{Disney}} one and only]] ''Music/NightOnBaldMountain'' segment. It starts with an imp mischievously dragging Mandy into the couch and causing her to fall down into a volcano (take note that Mandy actually does look unnerved for once). Then the familiar strings of ''Bald Mountain'', or at least approximations of them, cue up as something brews in the lava after Mandy falls in. We then see hordes of nightmarish demonic creatures gathering at the volcano's base in anticipation. Then Mandy finally erupts from the volcano as a fiery demon with a fist raised, as the hellish hordes celebrate in rapturous joy. Mandy then kills the imp that delivered her to the volcano and fully takes control of the proceedings as the lord of evil, or really Satan herself given what the sequence is parodying. The kicker is that she wakes up feeling refreshed and rejuvenated and wanting ''more'' of the pizza that caused her dream.

* Jeff the Spider snapping towards the end of "Spider's Little Daddy." "Love Daddy". For the entire episode he is [[FriendlyNeighborhoodSpider a very nice spider craving Billy's love]], but Billy is too afraid to see that. Once he hears Grim's rant over being Mandy's servant shortly after Mandy abandons her efforts to train him to be less nice, he pulls a whole 180 as he finally releases his frustrations and actually gets terrifying:
--> '''Jeff:''' Love
me, Dad! Love me! Love me now!"now!

* ''Irwin gets a clue'': Hoss' backstory, where he was constantly one-upped by a guy called Kyle, whom he now keeps chained to a radiator in his basement, would be this if Kyle wasn't a traffic cone.

Being a supernatural show in which the premise involves two kids who are ''friends with Death itself'', ''WesternAnimation/TheGrimAdventuresOfBillyAndMandy'' not only has a large number of NightmareFuel, but also a great deal of BlackComedy and [[GrossOutShow gross-out humor]].

** There’s also the fact that it has no qualms about who’s its prey. Whether an old man or even a baby, making clear it especially finds those delectable, it’s not a matter if it isn’t gray indeed.
*** Speaking of the baby line, the one the alien eats from has an unusually weird and creepy look on it’s face, which doesn’t change even as their brain is taken.

* In "Tween Wolf", shortly after Erwin gets mauled by a werewolf with a GoryDiscretionShot, he comes across Billy - and stares at the camera with a low growl, a DeathGlare complimented by an actual dark-brown coloration to his eyes that never shows anywhere else in the series, and ''part of his ear torn off.'' And during his transformation into a wolf you can briefly see his bones jutting out of his body as he shifts in agony.

** The third segment, however, has you fighting on a school bus being chased by a giant chicken. If you fall off the school bus, you roll down the road, straight towards the giant bird. And the chicken also goes out of its way to pick off the other vehicles on the road... The icing on the cake, however, is the incredibly disturbing music they chose to have play before each and every battle on this stage.

* "Bully Boogie" ends with Grim and the Boogie Man deciding to figure out who's scariest by picking someone and random and trying to scare the daylights out of them. Boogie turns into a frightening-looking (but relatively tame) werewolf to do so, and is confused when all Grim plans to use is a rubber ducky with demon horns. One scene transition later, Boogie pops up in a bathtub and "roars" at the kid in it, who is completely unfazed by him and, in fact, is ecstatic that a new pet just spontaneously appeared in front of him. Grim's rubber duck pops up out of the water next, and the kid plays with it for a moment, squeezing the duck and it makes cute little quacking sounds. And then the quacks suddenly sound deeper. The duck starts getting bigger, then changes from a basic rubber bath toy into an outright monster with jagged teeth as it grows to the size of a dinosaur and ''really'' roars. The scares for the audience are deflated a moment later when its head pops and Grim comes out to say "Boo!", successfully terrifying the kid with all that build-up, but ''holy shit!''

** [[https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=wmZAzVS8Nw4 Pud'n's part]]. (shudder) What really drove that one home is how realistic the bunny was drawn. When Pud'n's holding the cute bunny and it lets out a terrifying shriek as its face contorts. Cut to Pud'n's face looking like he pooped himself. And when the bunny rises out of the fire of the destroyed truck in an obvious ''Franchise/{{Terminator}}'' [[ShoutOut homage]], complete with its insides showing and says "Of course I forgive you, Pud'n! I forgive you because I love you... And I love you, to ''death''." The epic MoodWhiplash (the truck had just blown up from [[MadeOfExplodium having its cargo, a]] ''[[MadeOfExplodium giant pillow]]''[[MadeOfExplodium , hit with the]] ''[[MadeOfExplodium creme filling from an eclair]]'') really made the moment scary.
