* The Sakura Monster. Normally, player would expect another rehash/expy of Pyramid Head... except they actually didn't even ''attempt'' one this time. What we get is a brightly colored, floral... ''thing'' wrapped in barbed wire that could be described as a mixture of Lisa, the artist side of Instagram, and of all things, Valtiel. Furthermore, in moss Silent Hill games, you do get a good look at your pursuers whenever you encounter them. Here, though? You never really get a chance, because this isn't the slow-moving Pyramid Head of old, no, this thing is much, much quicker, and never hesitates to sprint towards you whenever given the chance, to the point you're only gonna get a real good glimpse of it as you die, and when you do... Somehow the entire visual manages to make it worse.

You never really get a chance, because this isn't the slow-moving Pyramid Head of old, no, oh no; this thing is much, much quicker, and never hesitates to sprint towards you whenever given the chance, to the point you're only gonna get a real good glimpse of it as you die, and when you do... * Maya's reasons for committing suicide are never completely spelled out. The implications, however, paint an idea of just what actually may have caused it.
** Notes in Amelie's room suggest that she's intensely afraid of her brother because of how he looks at her, and that her parents are constantly fighting, particular regarding money. However, Anita notes that doesn't sound much like the former to begin with, and then she finda a news report about a girl who's jumped off of the complex...
** There's a boy alluded to in Maya's art and some of her letters, who she's very much implied to at least have an intimate relationship with. Unfortunately, it seems as if circumstances kept them from staying together, and then you can find a positive pregnancy test in a trash can...
** A few choice lines seem to imply that "the boys" in particular feel bad about something that happened, alluding to something they may have done or helped cause that further drove Maya to the brink.
** All the FMV cutscenes are from Anita's point of view; with that in mind, think of how much Anita talks about how Maya never acts like she's there, compared to how open the latter seems to actually be with her. If anything, Maya actually seemed to highly value Anita... It's just, Anita never actually listened to her.
** Ultimately Maya seemingly never had anyone to truly vent to other than Amelie, who was never able to even do that for her thanks to Anita stealing the letter. If you pay attention however, it seems like Maya already exchanged letters with Anita before, and considering the nature of Silent hill as-is, maybe Anita never actually stole a letter in the first place...

* The sheer concept that this is a ''Silent Hill'' game that's ''not in the town itself''. This takes place in Germany, and there is a news article that states that there is now a phenomena called "The Silent Hill effect" where people at their lowest points see stuff in the fog that reflects their mental problems. So now you don't have to travel to a sleepy little town in Maine to confront your nightmares. No, they'll find ''you''.

* One of the worst jumpscares in the game is when you enter an empty room and inspect one of Maya's art walls. You'll hear laughter from behind you, but it sounds a little distant. Maybe something's in another room? A monster lying in wait? Silent Hill trying to get you to go somewhere via its usual creepy methods? Wrong! When you turn around, you're inexplicably surrounded by unnerving mannequins all staring directly at you. Imagine the mannequins turning around in the Resident Evil 7 demo but 10 times more visceral and heartstopping!

Re-read it and made some fixes.

* The whole setting of the game is in a building that's notorious for being a popular suicide spot, that alone to send a chill down a spine. But then things start to take a turn for the worst when Silent Hill's usual... activities start to pop up.
