The music cues (even the ones that try not to sound creepy) are all a bit unsettling and/or eerie in one way or another, and the darkness, quick animations, and rather fast zooming of the splat don't help.

* The Nicktoons Network bumpers in 2006/2007. Most of them are a bit unnerving to watch, with them all using an photo-shop animation style like [[https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=MWuNZPP8-6M these]] ones. The [[https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=xVY68ISXDiE Arena]] bumpers can be very creepy, especially the second one.

* [[https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=xfbp8oI66Mo The "Compilation" bumper]] features characters and scenes from a lot of Nickelodeon's even older bumpers. While many consider this an awesome bumper, there's so much weird noises and crap flying at you that a few children were profoundly creeped out by it.

* [[https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=S8YzSkLAbzo This]] 1988 Creator/{{Nickelodeon}} bumper (also shown in the UK during closedown) is creepy in its own rights, with wolves howling "OOOOOOOOHOOHOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOHOOOOOOOOHOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO" on a solid white background with an eerie noise.

* [[https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=DyFHCdKtFlc This one]] has very soothing music and creepy claymation kids that come straight out of the UncannyValley.
* While not aired on Nickelodeon itself, an ident on Nicktoons Network in 2004 named "[[https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ze4URd3pwng The Dancer]]" could qualify. Its UncannyValley dancers that are always up in your face and the loud, fast-paced wonky music probably spooked more than a few younger viewers. The fact that it would air at [[ParanoiaFuel unexpected times]] during the commercials didn't help, and it can probably be considered a JumpScare for some who don't expect it. YMMV, as some may find it nostalgic.
* Just... '''[[https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=B79LO5UzLWk this.]]''' The girl's sounds, the shape of the splatter, ''the PsychoStrings.'' Words simply do '''NOT''' do it justice!
* For some, the Nickelodeon haypile logo seen at the end of several VHS tapes and [=DVDs=] can be scary. Nobody can really tell what is supposed to be. It's enough to send chills down your spine.
** The worst example is from the early seasons of Rugrats, where it would have bizarre and sometimes frightening noises playing. Including one that was just muttering followed by a sharp ''screech.''

* There is an ident from Nick Jr. in 2006 which starts normal but then seconds later, the Kooky Kid from ''WesternAnimation/WowWowWubbzy'' appears out of nowhere and say [[JumpScare "KOOKY" in your face]]. This ident has scared some children.

Though there is soothing music, the realistic sounds played in this bumper is what makes it just unsettling and eerie. The baby laughing sound effect in this bumper doesn't help.

* Though most find the Noggin bumpers from 2002-2009 to be creative, some find them to be a bit unnerving.

* Nickelodeon's ''Short Films by Short People'' showcased shorts created by kids, including one of which the kids who saw it on TV wouldn't forget: "[[https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1JVo7p84u9U Attack of the Giant Vulture]]", which revolves around a giant vulture chasing three kids around Chinatown with the intent of eating them. Those who didn't find the short silly were terrified by the eponymous vulture (as the comments in the linked video will attest to), and even the short's ending (where the kids [[TheHunterBecomesTheHunted turn the tables on the vulture and eat him instead]]) comes off as somewhat disturbing, too.

** Noggin's is arguably the scariest. After the mascot tells you that he's going outside to play, he walks offscreen and you're treated to hours of a school background. The ambient noises are creepy, consisting of water drops, squeaking, and kids cheering.
