* The implications of the Bad ending. William Afton is the Purple Guy, but "William Afton" is Ennard wearing a human suit. It's hard to place the game in the timeline, but if Sister Location comes after 4, that means that Purple Guy is even worse than we thought: we know that if a human dies in a suit, their soul remains as part of it, but they're still limited by the functionality of the suit itself. Ennard has the opposite problem, but unlike the haunted animatronics, he's not working with a mechanical limitation. The ''human'' part of the animatronics calls the shots, it always has. Ennard may have "scooped" Afton, but that doesn't mean Ennard is necessarily in control. Depending on how you interpret the Bad ending, it could mean either that Ennard became the Purple Guy and murdered children because, human suit or no, that's still the purpose the animatronics were programmed for... or that Afton's will is still in control, he just realizes he doesn't need sophisticated machines to do his luring and killing for him if he ''is'' a sophisticated machine.
* For extra horror, remember that Springtrap has a human body inside, but [[NeverFoundTheBody no trace of Ennard,]] [[FridgeHorror suggesting that it left soon after the spring suit was deployed.]] It's not unlikely that it's looking for [[SerialKiller another victim...]]
** Actually, it could be even ''worse.'' If you look closely, you'll see that there's way more wiring and other metal stuff inside Springtrap than there is decayed flesh. And don't forget that there are still glowing eyes... Although it becomes less scary once you find out ''what'' the image is. It's legitimately an edited image of Rick Astley...
*** This gives the implication that Springtrap (or ''Ennard'') is indeed looking for a new host, and it just makes the possibility of it catching you in [[FiveNightsAtFreddys3 FNAF3]] even worse. '''YOU''' are its next host! It can be even worse than that. What if there was more than one Ennard, and Springtrap was really only one of many?
*** And for bonus NightmareFuel, fans of the series may remember the wires that they could see dangling past the camera views in the first, second and third games. The wires bear a strong resemblance to Ennard's body on Night 5. Which, coupled with "his" intimate knowledge of spring-lock suits and what they do to human bodies, may mean that Ennard has had many different bodies over the years... [[FridgeHorror Bodies of previous night guards who]] "[[CameBackWrong always come back]]".

* Another thing to keep you awake from the Custom Night update: [[https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=QvVRvB6ooRU the ending cutscenes]]. ''All of them''. It starts off as normal, with your character walking down the street being greeted by his neighbors. But as you complete more Custom Night modes, the cutscene changes as ''his skin starts to rot.'' It's even nightmare fuel in-universe, as all the neighbors are disturbed by this change and start hiding from him out of fear. In the final cutscene, while traversing down the sidewalk, hunched over like a zombie, your character all of a sudden stops and heaves for a moment, before raising his head up as if screaming while his ''chest shakes and convulses''. He then snaps forward and ''spits out Ennard'' before crumpling in a heap, seemingly dead. And for those willing to wait a moment, an echo of Baby's voice from the Private Room plays. [[WhamShot Then, the player character, now presumed to be Mr. Afton, rises up, no longer hunched over like a corpse, his eyes glowing silver.]]

** This very scene brings back the classic line from the series: "He will come back. He always does." It seems the Purple Man, somehow, survived this ordeal due to being able to stand without Ennard. Just what does it take to kill this guy?
** As much as he may or may not have deserved it, put yourself in Purple Guy's position. The last thing you remember is a mechanical appendage lunging into your body and ripping your guts out -- likely excruciating pain beyond description -- and after dying, you wake up back in your own body to find it completely rotted and decayed beyond recognition.

* The final Custom Night (GF Challenge) cutscene implies that Purple Guy sent his son to find something and to repair "her" (likely his daughter) on the old restaurant. The dialogue mentions that "they" (likely the ghosts from ''3'') were there, that the ghosts couldn't tell him and his son apart, and that "I should be dead, but I'm not", before Springtrap jumps from the ruins of Fazbear's Fright. Contrary to what had long been believed, an ''innocent'' person was horrifically crushed to death and trapped inside Springtrap while the serial killer got away completely free. This also means the Purple Guy knowingly sent ''his own son'' to die in his place. This also means that the children killed innocent security guards for years hunting their killer for nothing, ending up getting ''the wrong guy.''
** This adds a layer of FridgeHorror, as it would mean Springtrap's moans for help in ''3'' were genuine. [[AccidentalMurder He just happens to inflict a terrifying death to the one person who could help him.]]
