* [[https://www.creepypasta.com/la-nuit/ La Nuit]] tells the story of a French musician named Charles who does a strange side project: he will record everything that goes on in his room while he sleeps. Since he lived in a rural area, he wouldn't have to worry about things like car alarms, sirens, and the hustle and bustle of the city. When he plays the recording the next day, he hears something that frightens him: the sound of his bedroom door opening. Remember, Charles lives alone...

* ''[[https://creepypasta.fandom.com/wiki/Where_Bad_Kids_Go Where Bad Kids Go]]''. The narrator of this story recalls a TV show they watched during the Lebanese Civil War that had some particularly uptight morals which it would force on children with fear tactics and graphic imagery. The most disturbing part was the end scene: the camera would zoom in on a metal door, the sound of children screaming growing louder as Arabic text appears, reading, "That's where bad kids go." Years later, the narrator, now an investigative journalist, finds the studio where the show was produced, now abandoned. Inside, they find the metal door that haunted their childhood. Upon opening the door, they find a room littered with traces of blood, feces, and bone fragments. But the worst thing is the bolted caged microphone hanging from the ceiling.

* ''[[https://creepypasta.wikia.com/wiki/Since_the_Incident Since the Incident]]'' is a Creepypasta that takes place five years after an unspecified war resulting in a supposed outbreak that wiped out most of the population. The narrator, one of the survivors, talks about how the most dangerous thing in the post-apocalyptic world are [[NotUsingTheZWord "Them".]] They are described as irrationally violent, dangerous in groups, and tend to travel aimlessly while shuffling about and moaning. Then, the ending reveals that "Them" are not what you think. The fact that the humans are killing the zombies for no other reason other than out of irrational fear and hatred towards the latter is terrifying in and of itself.

* The narrator of ''Barbie.avi'' is searching through a computer they found when they stumble upon a series of increasingly bizarre and disturbing videos. One is titled [[TitleDrop Barbie.avi]] and shows a video of a woman talking. As the video goes on, she begins crying and points at her skin. It initially just seems weird, until you know the context. This woman had a condition which caused her to believe there was something wrong with her appearance, and [[{{Squick}} had herself]] [[BodyHorror skinned alive]].

** In a bit of a stark contrast to the above story, [[https://youtu.be/-5e_mksrtCc?si=ZU_9na0A-esWpE2M Like Pennies and Gasoline]] has a boy get a Sega Genesis for Christmas, and his brother go missing at the same time, later to be found as chewed bones. The thread between these incidents? The boy asks for the Sega Genesis, and the mall Santa he talks to lets out a remark that doesn't seem to cross his mind at first.

** A good example of what she has done is [[https://youtu.be/3iZBH2rEops?si=x7bg5yF_w6MNSOO7 Sudden Onset]]. Based on an actual phenomenon where OCD-like symptoms spontaneously appear in children after a strep throat infection or a generally stressful event, the story itself is RealismInducedHorror at its finest. A 14 year old boy plays Bloody Mary with his friends at a sleepover, where he's in the bathroom as part of the ritual. In what could be a supernatural event or a sudden bout of anxiety, he panics and hits his head on the bathtub faucet. After being unconscious for some time, he develops an irrational fear of reflective surfaces, afraid something is watching him through them and waiting to strike. What really makes it chilling is the accompanying sound design, [[HellIsThatNoise distorted clips of children crying]] as the narrator delivers the story in a faltering, shaky voice.

*** One version with the clown has the babysitter and kids get out of the house okay, but dials the scary up in another way: the police arrive and search the house, actually finding a hidden trapdoor that the clown had used to access the place. Upon investigating, they find the clown's abandoned suit, and wig...and face. The clown had been wearing a skin suit under the clown outfit, making the end of the story even more unsettling.

* [[https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4Hsl65RO9Tc&ab_channel=ChillingTalesforDarkNights Mayhem Mountain]] is a story about a group of friends who, in their middle age, buy their favorite childhood amusement park with plans of reopening it to the public. The park originally shut down due to stories of children vanishing from the park, as well as the park operating in the red for a few years. The friends spend the first third of the story wandering around the old park and riding the rides that have already been deemed safe by the contractors hired to repair the place. While largely not scary at this part, the story's narrator can't help but notice a lot of graffiti around the park questioning where the missing kids went. His friend, the one who is overseeing the park's refurbishment, tells him that he discovered that the park didn't shut down due to financial issues or the missing children: the park had been in the red since opening day, with the majority of revenue going to unknown purposes. The park's owner decided to move and, unwilling to wait for a buyer, sold to the bank. After some time riding the rides, the friends decide to ride the main roller coaster, Mayhem Mountain. The first ride goes great, but then one of the narrator's friends (who happens to be an Imagineer for Disney) notices that the ride's controls have an option marked "Track B". This confuses everybody, as they rode the coaster many times as children, and it never changed. The group rationalizes that the contractors would have found and signed off on "Track B" when checking the ride, and decide to try it. The narrator's sister remains behind to operate the ride, as she has a bad feeling about it. Mayhem Mountain is set to "Track B", and the ride begins. At first, nothing changes, but then, the coaster skips its inverted loop and follows another track under the ride and the park. That's when Mayhem Mountain transforms into a ride from Hell. The coaster enters a large open area under the park and starts going through several inverted loops. As it approaches each loop, the safety bars of the ride periodically unlock, leaving the passengers vulnerable. A few of the friends can't hold on through the loops and fall out, and if the fall doesn't kill them, the car will flatten them when it comes down the loop. The remaining passengers see the tracks up ahead are randomly being switched, with four different options: crash into a pool of water, crash into a wall, ride down into a dark hole in the floor like the one that took them down there to begin with, or ride up to the room's highest point and off the end of the tracks. A small compartment opens in the car to show a countdown clock and buttons to select a track: Either they choose how they die, or the ride does it for them. The Imagineer friend says that the hole in the floor might lead to more track, so they choose it. However, as the coaster goes through one last loop, not as high as the others, the narrator realizes the fall may be survivable, and shouts for his friends to jump when they go through the loop. However, only he does it. He falls and survives as the coaster goes through the floor. Injured but alive, the narrator crawls to the hole, only to discover, to his horror, that it leads to a deep pit. He can't see the bottom, but his test of the depth proves that his friends are dead. Before he passes out, he notices something he'd missed before in the room: a massive observation window with one chair behind it. When he's rescued, emergency services bring him out through that observation room. Later, his sister tell him that she was threatened not to say anything about the ride's "Track B", and convinces him to do the same. Later on, the narrator looks up the park's old owner: he owns several amusement parks that, while not famous, are locally well-known, and the narrator knows, without even checking, that each park has at least one ride with a "Track B".
