** [[WarGod Ares]] is an insane, sadistic deity who [[Characters/GodOfWarSeriesMainAntagonists kickstarts the entire plot]] with his {{ambition|IsEvil}}. Turning the warrior [[Characters/GodOfWarSeriesKratos Kratos]] into his corrupted weapon, Ares uses Kratos to pave a path of blood and death across Greece, killing untold thousands in horrific massacres before tricking Kratos into murdering his own family to destroy the last of his humanity. After Kratos betrays him and allies with Athena, Ares--who enjoys spending his free time killing hundreds of humans at a time for fun--wages war on the city of Athens, [[BadPeopleAbuseAnimals killing entire forest populations]] on his way to destroy Athens. Lansdale: [[ScaryBlackMan Skunk]], a savage SerialKiller more animal than man who lives out in the Texan wilderness, carves a near-legendary name for himself through the trove of people he's managed to kill in his career as a bounty hunter. Once a disturbed youth named Absalom who [[BadPeopleAbuseAnimals killed his dog]] purely to make it suffer, Skunk ultimately murders his own mother after she tries to kill him in a fit of fright and escapes into the woods, selling his services as a brutal [[PsychoForHire murderer-for-hire]] who tortures his victims to death, severs their hands to bring back as proof and eventual trophies, and strings up the bones of his victims. Employed by a man named Cletus to fetch a valuable case of money tied to dead girl May, Skunk ruthlessly pursues the money, torturing the local [[CopKiller constable]] Sy and the uncle of protagonist Sue to death before attempting to kill Sue and her friends himself.

* ''Fine Dark Line'', by Joe R. Lansdale: Mr. Chapman is the father of Stanley's best friend Richard and a [[TheFundamentalist fundamentalist]] with an obsession over "penance" who hideously abuses and tortures his family, having [[DomesticAbuse molded his wife]] into a masochistic doormat who willingly takes the abuse. Above this, Chapman is secretly a SerialKiller who employs brutal labor of minorities on his farm before slaughtering them and framing their deaths as unrelated disappearances, even being implied to murder his treasured dog to cover for himself before he attempts to kill both Stanley and Richard for unearthing the bodies.

** ''[[Literature/FiveNightsAtFreddysTheSilverEyes The Silver Eyes]]''; ''[[Literature/FiveNightsAtFreddysTheTwistedOnes The Twisted Ones]]''; ''[[Literature/FiveNightsAtFreddysTheFourthCloset The Fourth Closet]]'': [[Characters/FiveNightsAtFreddysWilliamAfton William Afton]], aka Dave Miller, was the co-founder of both Fredbear's Family Diner and Freddy Fazbear's Pizza. Unable to deal with the stress in his life, he turned to the life of a SerialKiller to relieve it. Starting off by [[WouldHurtAChild murdering the child]] of his business partner Henry, Afton later lured five kids backstage, killed them, and stuffed their bodies inside the animatronics, causing them to become possessed by their spirits. Later, while working as a security guard at a mall, he notices an android based off Henry's daughter Charlotte along with her six friends, and decides to try and kill them ForTheEvulz. He kidnaps Charlotte's friend Carlton and places him in a springlock suit, gleefully telling him that if he makes one wrong move, the suit will slowly crush him to death and his spirit will be unable to pass on. He later [[CopKiller kills an officer]] and takes Charlotte hostage when the group tries to escape. Returning as Springtrap, Afton sends out animatronics to kill Charlotte and her friends out of revenge for causing his death. It's also revealed that he reduced the animatronics to their endoskeletons and mashed them together, keeping all of the souls in [[AndIMustScream excruciating agony]].

* ''Literature/FireflyBigDamnHero'': [[ManOfWealthAndTaste Hunter Covington]] is a {{sadist}} to rival Adelai Niska. Working with a remnant faction of Browncoats to trap, try, and hang "traitors" to the Independent cause, Covington has no problem with the fact that these people are to be summarily executed by a KangarooCourt, and stops by to watch Mal's planned execution because [[ForTheEvulz watching a man die by hoist hanging is his idea of a shiny evening's entertainment]]. He also keeps at least one bondswoman, who he plans to [[CruelAndUnusualDeath kill slowly by serious knife play]] for informing on him to the Feds. His neutrality during the war is explicitly because it was more profitable not to choose a side.

** ''Literature/{{Clandestine}}'': [[ControlFreak William "Doc" Harris]] is a [[FauxAffablyEvil charming]], clever criminal convinced of his superiority. Wooing Marcella to marry her, Doc [[TheCorruptor corrupts]] her brother Johnny and two other men into absolute devotion to him, having them perform oral sex on him to demonstrate his dominance. Stealing tons of military morphine, Doc uses it to perform abortions of "inferior" children. Out of misogyny, Doc also kills any women not referred to him by men, with "[[SerialKiller lots and lots]]" buried in unmarked graves after he does the deed, and later makes one underling take the fall by threatening to expose his homosexuality. When his own child is stillborn, Doc has Johnny give up his own son to raise as Doc's "moral heir" and attempts to corrupt the boy by preaching [[{{Ubermensch}} his elitist philosophy]], and personally kills Johnny and Marcella.

** ''[[Literature/FiveNightsAtFreddysFazbearFrights Fazbear Frights]]'':
*** [[RoboticPsychopath Eleanor]] is a demonic mechanical being who serves as the [[BigBad true mastermind]] of the events of the series. A monstrous SerialKiller who feeds off the agony of her victims, Eleanor is responsible for murdering dozens of victims in [[CruelAndUnusualDeath grotesque manners]]. In [[EstablishingCharacterMoment her first appearance in the series]], Eleanor mutilates and murders a young girl named Sarah [[TheFarmerAndTheViper who had helped her]] to steal her organic body parts. The mastermind to many of the grisly murders to occur in the series, Eleanor has decapitated a [[WouldHurtAChild teenage girl]] through an animatronic; driven a woman insane and to death; and traps the soul of a deceased boy so he can experience his organs being removed. [[YourSoulIsMine Each of her victims' souls is trapped in her ball pit]] where they're forced to experience their horrific fates over and over again. Reviving and empowering child serial murderer William Afton, Eleanor is responsible for him causing mass death and chaos through the series and helps empower him to become an amalgamation monster of animatronics that threatens the entire city. Ultimately, Eleanor intends to gain the power of "Remnant", planning to use it to superempower herself and spread suffering across the planet.
*** [[Characters/FiveNightsAtFreddysWilliamAfton William Afton]] was a notorious SerialKiller who [[WouldHurtAChild murdered several children]] at Freddy Fazbear's Pizza by dressing up as an AccessoryWearingCartoonAnimal to gain their trust. Eventually, Afton would be horrifically burnt in a fire, only kept alive by Andrew, one of his victims torturing him for revenge. Afton would then trick Arthur Blyth and the hospital staff into bringing him to a Fazbear Distribution Center to free him of Andrew, spreading Agony across the city to infect and corrupt countless toys, mascots, and [[HostileAnimatronics animatronics]], indirectly causing many incidents where the corrupted mascots would attack people. Afton himself would end up possessing the Stitchwraith with Andrew and Jake, discretely using the animatronic to kill several people and pinning it on Andrew. When Jake tries to help Andrew ascend to the afterlife, Afton tries to stop them out of spite, and when that fails, proceeds to [[NoHoldsBarredBeatdown viciously maul Jake]] in rage. Leaving Jake for dead, Afton, empowered by Eleanor, would then fuse all the corrupted toys and mascots with him, to create [[MechanicalAbomination Afton's Amalgamation]], with the fusion causing the sapient toys and mascots [[AndIMustScream constant pain]]. Afton's rampage would have eventually endangered the entire city, where he intended to kill even more children to satisfy his neverending need to inflict pain and suffering onto others.

* ''Webcomic/DangerZoneOne Vol. 2: Beneath These Streets'': [[MadScientist Dr. Harlan Melchor]] was once the head of Valcott University's Engineering Science Department, before getting blacklisted for desiring to [[ArmsDealer sell his machines as military weapons]]. [[FakingTheDead Faking his death]] and hiding out underground, Melchor plans to finish the [[EarthquakeMachine Harmonic Resonator]], which will create an earthquake big enough to destroy all of Pallad City and kill millions, even [[ColdBloodedTorture torturing]] a kidnapped Reena Saffron with vibrations in order to activate the machine with her screams.

** [[FatBastard Baron Vladimir Harkonnen]] is a monstrous figure whose only concern is his own advancement and the glory of House Harkonnen. Initially lower than the Noble Atreides household, Harkonnen engineers its downfall, leading Duke Leto to a failed HeroicSacrifice to try to kill the Baron. When his wife and children flee to the desert world of Dune, Harkonne assists in trying to crush the Rebellion in an essential genocide of the Fremen people. Revealing his two nephews, brutish Rabban and intelligent, reserved Feyd-Rautha, Harkonnen plans to assign Rabban to brutalize the Fremen and then later [[YouHaveOutlivedYourUsefulness have him removed]] by Feyd to cultivate the Fremen's goodwill with him. When Feyd tries to assassinate Harkonnen, Harkonnen, in amusement, forces him to kill every woman in the pleasure quarter, chiding him "there will always be more women, Feyd." At one point, a character comments Feyd might have become a great hero, if only someone who wasn’t such a monster had raised him.

* ''Literature/{{Durarara}}'': [[EvilTeacher Takashi Nasujima]] is a [[{{Ephebophile}} sexual predator]] known for sexually harassing his female students. His relationship with his student, Haruna Niekawa, is a notorious example, with his emotional and sexual abuse playing a large role in Haruna's [[ClingyJealousGirl deteriorating psyche]]. Transferred to Raira Academy, Nasujima would proceed to sexually harass Anri Sonohara, and when ordered to stop by Masiomi Kida, he would sneak into Anri's home, possibly to violate her. Severely injured by Shizuo Heiwajima after trying to mug him, Nasujima recovers and returns to Ikebukuro where he [[CarFu runs over Kyouhei Kadota with a car]]. Resisting Saika's control, Nasujima uses Haruna's father to lure her daughter to him before knocking them both out, where Nasujima plans to use Haruna's powers for his own purposes while stating his intentions to {{rape|IsASpecialKindOfEvil}} Haruna right in front of her father; he then has Haruna slash everyone within Ikebukuro so that he may control their minds and take over the city, uncaring if he gets many people hurt or killed. Nasujima would then attempt to murder Anri, nearly killing Mikado Ryuugamine in the process.
