Tsukasa’s group has used this phenomenon to change supernaturals such as the Mokke and Mitsuba, though it can also occur unintentionally (as in Shijima’s case).

Amane and Mitsuba both seem to be alive, and are leading normal lives as Nene’s and Kou’s classmates... in a world where their fellow students can crumble apart like statues, and somehow everyone but Nene and Kou considers this normal because they’ll recover in a while.
* FirstNameBasis: Used to dramatic effect in the Picture Perfect Arc, where Amane goes from addressing Nene as "Yashiro-san" to just "Yashiro", essentially implying that he's been Hanako all along.

* LoveMakesYouEvil: Played with. Hanako’s desire for Nene to keep on living drives him to become the ultimate antagonist in the Picture Perfect Arc, refusing to let Nene and the others return to the real world until Nene persuades him otherwise.
