* EarlyInstallmentWeirdness: The early volumes seem like a completely different beast from the tone of the rest of the series. Vongola bullets were just a convenient excuse to get ''anything'' powered up, Dying Will was used with reckless abandon (and more importantly, had Tsuna explicitly die to activate his powers instead of just taking pills or willing himself), and the tone was more episodic.

** While both Haru and Kyoko are both aware of each other's feelings for Tsuna, neither seem bothered by each other, and [[LesYay hang out together in nearly every scene.]] And both are really close with Chrome sometimes.

** It seems that the series' initial central gimmick, the Dying Will Bullet that momentarily kills Tsuna and then brings him back to life with tremendous power, was a bit too violent for the anime version. So now, instead of Reborn pulling out a gun and shooting Tsuna in the head, Reborn's pet chameleon takes the form of a gun (which is colored bright green, so it looks like a toy) and Reborn fires a bullet from it. The bullet then explodes before reaching its target, leaving behind an energy beam which hits Tsuna. Needless to say, it greatly lessens the impact of the sequence, not to mention coming off as needlessly complicated.

** In the Kokuyo arc, the countdown was made by extracting a number of teeth from each victim. The anime changed it to leaving pocket watches with different times.

* MasterOfTheMixedMessage: Kyoko. For the most part she treats Tsuna with kindness, and there are a small amount of hints implying that [[RelationshipUpgrade their relationship might go somewhere]]. But overall, she always ends up treating him like a good friend with well-meaning intentions by the end of the day. It also doesn’t help that Kyoko’s role slowly [[OutOfFocus becomes less impactful ever since the series became more action-focused as well]].

* MasterOfTheMixedMessage: Kyoko. For the most part she treats Tsuna with kindness, and there are a small amount of hints implying that [[RelationshipUpgrade their relationship might go somewhere]]. But overall, she always ends up treating him like a good friend with well-meaning intentions by the end of the day. * FromZeroToHero: * Tsunayoshi Sawada from ''Manga/KatekyoHitmanReborn''. At school all his grades are zero, he is impossibly clumsy, smaller than everyone in his class, has no out-of-school activities whatsover (unless you count reading manga and playing video games), has absolutely no friends, and is berated both by his mother (though that was toned down in the anime) and at school. He even gets stuck with the nickname "Dame-Tsuna". [[spoiler: By the end of the series he has obtained amazing power, is an expert in combat, has a very wide circle of friends and allies that would die for him and has managed to defeat his setting's [[EldritchAbomination Eldritch Abominations]], among other deeds. No improvement in his grades, though]].

* ModestyTowel: The OVA HotsSpringsEpisode has all the guys wearing these, much to the fangirls' disappointment.

* MindScrew: Some people consider the [[spoiler: Phalaenopsis Paradox]] and all the TimeTravel and MemoryGambit needed to defeat it this.

After eight years of serialization, the series came to an end in 2012 with a total of 409 chapters. Marvelous! announced that a stage play adaptation titled ''Katekyo Hitman Reborn! The STAGE'' was scheduled to be performed on September 21, 2018 to October 6, 2018, at Tokyo and Osaka, which covered the Daily Life and the Kokuyo arcs and saw to NEEKO [[RoleReprisal reprising her role]] as Reborn. After a successful run, a second stage play titled ''Katekyo Hitman Reborn! the STAGE vs VARIA'' was announced for a two part run. The first Part ran June 14, 2019 to June 23, 2019.
