* In the film ''Film/UnderworldAwakening'', Selene now has a daughter named Eve. Selene first meets her daughter when she is awakened by Eve when she damages her cryogenic chamber having been frozen in it for 12 years, carrying Eve to full term while sedated. Though at first Selene seems cold towards her daughter, when Eve's life is threatened by the Lycans/other vampires this mom will go to any leangth to protect her daughter. Selene is the ultimate mom fighting Lyacans, protecting her daughter, all while trying to figure out Michaels whereabouts [[spoiler: Michael is held in the same Cryogenic lab as Selene and their daughter Eve]] If Selene gets punched she will think nothing of it, but if anyone touches Eve - it's their funeral.

** Martha Kent provides a touching non-violent [[https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=piDanlCBoDI&t=57s variation]] in a FlashBack in ''Film/ManOfSteel''. Clark is having a SensoryOverload at school and hides in a closet and uses Heat Vision on the doorknob when the teacher tried to open it. Martha comes into the school and instead trying to force her son out, she soothes him telling her to focus solely on her voice and “make the world small”. Clark soon calms down, and opens the closet to hug his mom. Martha, in addition to helping Clark manage his powers also made sure a ''Film/{{Brightburn}}'' situation [[UpbringingMakesTheHero was thoroughly avoided]].
** There’s also the inversion as hurting or threatening his mamma, is a surefire way to piss Clark the hell off. Zod learned this the hard way, as Supes [[UnstoppableRage flying tackled him through several fiends and a couple of silos]] when he made a move to kill Martha.

** Just like the comics Film/{{Wonder Woman|2017}} is this in the DCEU, though not too surprising given in this version she [[{{Squee}} coos]] when seeing a baby for the first time. [[https://youtu.be/9QJ2mqXdr5I?t=147 So when a bunch of school children fired upon by a bank robber]] in ''Film/JusticeLeague2017'' Diana naturally blocks every bullet from hitting a child with her SuperSpeed and then trounces the TooDumbToLive criminal. Also worth noting she used the power of her bracelets to take him out, ''the same bracelets that killed Ares the God of War!''

** Queen Atlanna mother of Arthur Curry aka Film/{{Aquaman}} shows her Mama Bear status when King Orvax (whom she does not love) [[CrazyJealousGuy sends soldiers]] to attack the lighthouse where she’s living with her normal husband Thomas and her son Arthur. [[https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=RaSfMCaCnKc Atlanna gloriously kicks all of their asses to protect her family]]. She only surrenders and goes back to the ocean out because she doesn’t want to endanger her husband and son’s lives any longer.
** In ''Film/BirdsOfPrey2020'', Harley Quinn, Black Canary, Renee Montoya and Huntress all have a Mama Bear instinct towards [[TagAlongKid Cassandra Cain]] whom Black Mask is after. Harley in particular goes on several OneWomanArmy rampages against goons to protect her.

* The Vietnamese movie ''Film/{{Furie}}'' is basically GenderInverted ''Film/{{Taken}}'' meets ''Franchise/JohnWick''. The main characters Hai Phuong is an ex-gangster who will stop at nothing to get her little girl back. As the child-trafficking gang would soon know, just because the furious mother doesn't have a gun doesn't mean she couldn't wreck her way through half of the country with just her bare hands and feet (and lots and lots of broken bottles).

* Raksha in ''Film/TheJungleBook2016'' to her adopted son Mowgli. She openly defies Shere Khan in his first appearance, calling him a "burnt beast", which visibly angers him. And later, she led the wolves to stand against Shere Khan [[spoiler: and she manages to save Bagheera from Shere Khan.]]

* [[Film/{{Maleficent}} Maleficent]] is ''definitely'' this for Aurora. When [[LoveRedeems she was moved by her motherly love for Aurora]] and even [[ParentalSubstitute raised her like a daughter]], she became determined to undo the curse she put on her as a baby which ultimately leads to the TrueLovesKiss needed to break the curse. This continues onto the sequel ''Film/MaleficentMistressOfEvil'', where Maleficent [[ParentalMarriageVeto is initially against Aurora marrying Phillip]] in fear for her surrogate daughter's safety, especially after how her own romance with Aurora's father ended badly. While she does come to dinner to be proven wrong, she erupts in rage when [[BigBad Ingrith]] announces her desire to adopt Aurora and even threatens to call off the wedding while attacking the guards. Cue the climax where Maleficent joins the Dark Fey's attack on Ulstead to save Aurora and even [[spoiler: does a HeroicSacrifice saving Aurora from Ingrith's iron-dust arrow, although she came BackFromTheDead [[CameBackStrong as a Phoenix]].]]

** Frigga from the Film/{{Thor}} movies. In a deleted scene, she flips out at her husband Odin over Thor's banishment and in the [[Film/ThorTheDarkWorld sequel]], Frigga not only protected Jane from Malekith but she's the reason why Loki isn't executed at the start of the movie. [[spoiler: In ''Film/AvengersEndgame'' Frigga comforts her [[TheWoobie emotionally broken]] [[TimeTravel time traveling]] son Thor in a PreSacrificeFinalGoodbye]].
** Gamora in ''Film/GuardiansOfTheGalaxyVol2'' towards baby Groot. Probably gets from her mom as she was shown in the ''Film/AvengersInfinityWar'' FlashBack protecting Gamora from the Black Order before being taken away and killed.

** Melina Vostokoff from ''Film/BlackWidow2021'' may formerly have been TheAce DarkChick for the Soviet Armed Forces, but she came to see her staged daughters, Natasha and Yelena, [[BecomingTheMask as her own and genuinely love them]]. When the time comes goes to protect them again, she’ll betray the BigBad and blow up his AirborneAircraftCarrier to save her daughters.

** ''Film/DoctorStrangeInTheMultiverseOfMadness'' provides a villainous example [[spoiler: with Wanda Maximoff aka the Scarlet Witch. She loves her sons Billy and Tommy with every fiber of her being, and after the events of ''Series/WandaVision'' where she has to wake up evey day without them as well her as husband Vision eventually [[WoobieDestroyerOfWorlds pushed Wanda over the deep end]], not helped by the corrupting influence of the Darkhold. Now for the sake of being a mother to her sons again, she'll summon super demons, cut through armies of wizards and ComicBook/TheIlluminati like a hot knife through butter, fight Doctor Strange the Sorcerer Supreme and yes even sacrifice a teenage girl for the sake of getting her multiverse-hopping power so she can KillAndReplace the Wanda of Earth 838. Subverted ultimately though, as when face to face with Billy and Tommy again and seeing the utter terror her own sons have of her, Wanda has a HeelRealization at how far she's fallen and destroys Wundagore Mountain along with herself as a last act of redemption. A tradional example is Earth 838 Wanda, an innocent woman just protecting her children from her twisted AlternateSelf.]]

Its a film based on a true story about a woman, Betty Mahmoody, who marries a man from Iran and decides to spend her life with him in his country. She quickly discovers the harsh and brutal treatment women, especially wives, endure as part of their culture. She has a daughter with him and after she sees how the already abusive husband plans to raise her with no rights, she decides to take her daughter and escape from him back to the United States.
* Chung-sook from ''[[Film/Parasite2019 Parasite]]'' despite her crimes cherishes her children and as a former Olympic hammer thrower ''she will mess you up'' if you hurt them. * ''Film/PlanB2021'': When Sunny tells her mom she'd been trying to get the Plan B pill, which the pharmacist would not give her, rather than be mad her mom immediately goes there and browbeats him into doing it with a single DeathGlare.

* When Mrs Unsworth from the 1994 film ''[[Film/Priest1994 Priest]]'' discovers that her husband has been sexually abusing their fourteen-year-old daughter Lisa, she attacks him in a blind rage and chases him out of the house at knifepoint, alternately screaming abuse at him and tearfully apologising to Lisa all the while.

* Pictured on the main page: Ellen Ripley of the ''Franchise/{{Alien}}'' series was always a competent character with a decent survival instinct.[[Film/{{Aliens}} Threaten her quasi-adoptee girl Newt]] and then, well, she's duct-taping weapons together to make a {{BFG}}, single-handedly invading the aliens' nest and strapping into a [[PoweredArmor Power Loader]] to take on the Alien Queen in the mother of all catfights. Carol also guides the Skrulls through space to a safer place. In ''Endgame'' Carol saves the teenage Peter Parker and is uncharacteristically friendly to him]].

She succeeds in protecting her son and daughter but is killed in process [[HarmfulToMinors as little Shang-Chi watches on]]. The event made Xu Wenwu who had been a RetiredMonster through his wife’s influence, go on a RoaringRampageOfRevenge.]]
** Aunt May fully showcases her Mama Bear credentials in ''Film/SpiderManNoWayHome'' [[spoiler: when she helps her beloved nephew Peter fight off Norman Osborn aka Green Goblin, despite [[ActionSurvivor lacking]] any superpowers and only armed with a pipe. While May does (in a massive TearJerker) [[KillTheCutie die]] thanks to getting mortally wounded by the Goblin Gilder, its not before getting her nephew back on his feet and telling him not to despair or give up his attempt to cure the villains, saying that [[WithGreatPowerComesGreatResponsibility with great power comes great responsibility]].]]

* Claire Bartel from ''Film/TheHandThatRocksTheCradle.'' She comes off as a dasmel but kicks butt in the end. Too bad she was a bitch.

* In ''Film/{{Stag}}'', the guests really compound their folly when they decide that the best way to ensure Serena's cooperation is to threaten her son. Never underestimate the protective insticts of a SingleMomStripper.
* In ''Film/{{Suffragette}}'' Maud evolves into a MamaBear during the movie. At first, she just keeps her head down and tries not to get in trouble. When [[spoiler: her husband gives her son up for adoption without her consent]] they have to forcibly drag her away from her son, and close to the end of the film, she rescues a fellow laundress (who is still a child) from the hellish workplace. She just walks in, takes the girl's hand and leads her to the house of a fellow suffragette, where she more or less demands that they give the girl a job. [[spoiler: It's not only the working conditions that are awful, the boss is seen raping the girl, and is not even ashamed that Maud has witnessed it - he's implied to have raped Maud, too, when she was that age.]]
