*** The later films starting with ''Film/AgeOfExtinction'' give a very heavy redesign to Optimus, which, barring his head, looks little to nothing like any other version of the character. The design ends up incredibly humanoid in build and having barely any truck parts to speak of, along with being largely gray and silver with considerably less blue and only hints of red, and wielding a large handheld sword and shield rather than the usual rifle or axe.

* ''WesternAnimation/StrawberryShortcake'': The 2003 series has these in the following episodes:
** In "The Play's the Thing", Anastasia and Drizzelda have their ethnicities retconned into hispanic-ish and African American, respectively. Because they're played by Ginger Snap and Orange Blossom.

** In "Berry Brick Road", the Scarecrow trades his dungaree for Ginger Snap's purple coat and blue jeans, The Tin Woodsman[[note]]aka Nick Chopper[[/note]] has a face similar to Peppermint Fizz replacing his original metallic face as well as peppermint highlights on his axe and some of his joints, the Cowardly Lion now has Orange Blossom's face with braids surrounding his face and [[RealMenWearPink a hair-bow in his hair]], the Wicked Witch of the West has a head similar to Sour Grapes' head as well as the latter's colour scheme, the [[AdaptationNameChange Berrykins]] in her care look like Blueberry Muffin, Lemon Meringue, and Orange Blossom, the Wizard of Oz looks like Huckleberry Pie, and Glinda the Good Witch has a head similar to Plum Puddin's as well as the latter's colour scheme.

looks the same in the Japanese manual

** Ridley has some major appearance changes - while his design used in ''VideoGame/SuperMetroid'' has stuck with some minor changes in later games, in [[VideoGame/{{Metroid1}} the first game]], his [[http://static.gamesradar.com/images/mb/GamesRadar/us/Features/2010/08/Samus%20and%20Ridley/Finished/Metroid01--article_image.jpg in-game sprite]] depicted him as a more humanoid dragon around Samus's height... and if that wasn't enough, the [[http://metroid.retropixel.net/games/metroid/artwork/metroid_24.jpg art for Ridley in the American manual]] shows him as this... ''thing'' which has zero resemblance to the sprite at all!

* In ''Film/FantasticFour2015'', Doom lacks the helmet, armor, cape, and other characteristics of his comic counterpart, resembling a robot instead. On the Fantastic Four themselves, human Ben Grimm is a lot smaller than his counterpart in the comic, and Johnny Storm has been given a race lift, no longer the blonde Caucasian in the comic.

YMMV

* ''WesternAnimation/LooneyTunes'': Buddy and Cookie, the infamous [[ReplacementScrappy Replacement Scrappies]] for Bosko and Honey, went through no less than four distinct designs each during their two-year run, but Cookie's second design (seen in the Jack King shorts "Buddy's Bearcats", "Buddy the Detective", and "Buddy the Woodsman"), which sported braided [[AdaptationDyeJob blonde hair]], an Literature/AliceInWonderland-esque outfit and a more childish demeanor, stood out like a sore thumb against the WesternAnimation/BettyBoop-esque flapper characterization of the others. This version has been given the FanNickname "Biscuit".
