Fans love {{Shipping}}. Fans love [[CheerfulChild cute kids]]. And sometimes the [[FanPreferredCouple the most popular couple in the show]] will end up being composed of two of the cute kids. This results in the occasionally {{squick}}y practice of {{Shipping}} two characters who are barely old enough to be in a relationship (but in fairness this isn't as {{squick}}y [[PrecociousCrush as pairing them off with adults]]). A Toy Ship does not automatically qualify as {{squick}} since usually people only support innocent childhood crushes between the two; most writers and fanfic authors let these characters age a bit before making moves.

[[caption-width-right:297:[- Awwww! And they aren't even in high school and probably never hit puberty ([[VocalEvolution except their voices getting lower]])! Aren't they cute?-] ]]

->''We played Nintendo!\\
This was her very first date\\
I didn't wanna make it seem [[TotallyRadical too fly]].\\
We ate cereal!\\
She couldn't stay out at late\\
Her mother told her to be '''home''' at nine!''\\

Awww! [[{{Shipping}} Don't they make a cute couple?]] C'mon! You know they were totally [[RedStringOfFate made for each other!]] They're [[{{OTP}} the best couple in this show by far!]] Don't you think so?

What do you ''mean'' they're both only eight years old?

Sometimes it happens that two characters display a [[FanPreferredCouple startling amount of chemistry]], even though they're both barely old enough to be interested in the opposite sex -- heck, they might even still be in the "[[GirlsHaveCooties Boys/girls have cooties!]]" stage. This results in the occasionally {{squick}}y practice of {{Shipping}} two characters who are barely old enough to be in a relationship, but in fairness this isn't as {{squick}}y as [[{{Lolicon}} pairing]] [[{{Shotacon}} them]] [[PrecociousCrush off with adults]]. May be attempted by the authors if the show deals with characters of that age group, but still wants to add in a romantic subplot.

This trope is OlderThanTelevision.

Please note that this does not automatically qualify as {{squick}} since usually people only support innocent childhood crushes between the two. Most writers and fanfic authors let these characters age a bit before making moves. Some... don't.

Sometimes this is referenced as happening in the past, when (usually the woman) says she started chasing the man back when they were six (or eight or whatever), and "it took me [X] years to catch him- but it was worth it." Often a result of a VictoriousChildhoodFriend. Can be quite sad if she's trying to encourage an UnluckyChildhoodFriend. See also ChildhoodMarriagePromise and KidAnova. Opposite of DecemberDecemberRomance.

Compare/Contrast: {{Lolicon}} and {{Shotacon}}. May be due to a RelationshipWritingFumble or the fact that MostWritersAreAdults. See also FatherIWantToMarryMyBrother. ABSOLUTELY NOT to be confused with [[CargoShip the other kind of toy]].

[[folder:Anime & Manga]]
* Ash and Misty of ''{{Anime/Pokemon}}'', according to some fans (and the 4Kids dub team). Ash and May, [[ShipToShipCombat according to other fans]]. Ash and Dawn, [[RuleOfThree according to other fans]] (Stay tuned for Ash and Iris in the new series). Ash and [insert various one-shot girls who seem to have feelings for him], [[OverlyLongGag according to other fans]]. And let's not get started on the alternate ships for Misty, May, and Dawn... [[RepeatCut according to other fans]].
** Ash avoids this in canon by being utterly ObliviousToLove, but countless girls have crushes on him (including at least two Pokémon). It is also canon that Misty has a crush on ''someone'' but who it is isn't completely spelled out.
** Also, in Diamond and Pearl among the ''Pokémon'' no less. There's no telling how old Pikachu is, but Dawn's Buneary has been shown more than once to have a crush on him. The feeling is apparently not mutual.
** In [[PokemonSpecial the manga]], there are ships ahoy, even amongst the ToyShip department. Of course, the really amazing thing is that one particular ship ([[UptightLovesWild RubyxSapphire, aka Franticshipping]]) is ''supported by canon''!
** ''PokemonDiamondAndPearlAdventure'' has Jun and his unrequited (?) feelings for Mitsumi. Though she seems around sixteen and he can't be more then twelve or thirteen. (Then again, VagueAge...)
* TK and Kari (Takeru and Hikari) in the first season of ''{{Digimon}}''. They're eight, and viewers can still [[{{UST}} see the tension]]. Only furthered in the second season with [[ShipTease numerous hints]] and even some flirting. They are 12 (11 in the Japanese version), but still well within the parameters for toy shipping.
** Also, Takato and Jeri in ''DigimonTamers'', and Izumi and either Takuya, Kouji or Junpei in ''DigimonFrontier''.
** The "new Takari" is Ikuto/Chika (Ikuka? Chikuto?), a.k.a. Keenan and Kristy, from ''DigimonSavers''. Any Digimon pairing that isn't the OlderAndWiser characters from ''02'' or the PowerTrio from ''Savers'' would technically qualify as a Toy Ship.
** How about [[DigimonAdventure02 Iori]]×[[DigimonTamers Xiaochung]]? (aka [[CrossoverShip Cody and Susie.]]
** [[DigimonTamers Xiaochung]]×Mako. Notably even for this list, she's seven and he's ''five''. The author of the fic in question admitted that the only non-creepy way to write it was as a one sided crush, even if there's only a 2-year age difference.
** Masahiko's also a possibility for her.
*** Or maybe Masahiko and Ai (depending on how old Masahiko is).
* Chris and Joy, in ''{{Superbook}}'' of all places. She even mentions that they will get married when they grow up.
* Similarly, hints of Justin and Angie in ''FlyingHouse''.
* ''MagicalGirlLyricalNanoha'' fans usually assume Erio and Caro are set up as this, up to and including their CrashIntoHello. This would make it one of the few overt (and straight) relationships in the fandom, and yet the theme of TrueCompanions is so strong in the series they aren't even aware of being set up for a date at one point. Then again, Erio also doesn't seem to notice he's the [[TheOneGuy only boy]] either...
** Subsequent stories make it clear that Caro was aiming for him all along, and has been managing a three-year plot to ''get'' him. She succeeds.
** Lutecia's position as the third season's DarkMagicalGirl and her role as Caro's ShadowArchetype means she often gets shipped with either Caro or Erio, but she's just as likely to end up with [[{{OT3}} both of them]].
** From the manga SpinOff ''MagicalGirlLyricalNanohaViVid'' we have Vivio and Einhart, who are pretty much set up to be {{Generation Xerox}}es of Nanoha and Fate.
** Not to mention Nanoha and Fate or Yuuno in the first two seasons.
* All pairings in ''ShugoChara''. She's in fifth grade; should cat boys really be climbing up to her window and biting her on the ear?
** This was obvious enough that even the Charas start teasing Amu about her "indecisiveness".
** The catboy being in high school makes things little {{squick}}er.
*** Even worse, he's ''seventeen'' and she's eleven.
** It gets even better when [[TheStoic stoic genius]] Hikaru and [[GenkiGirl hyper-active]] Rikka, two little first and second graders hit the scene. The youngest pairing in this series by far. They even each other out and hold hands and all that cute stuff. [[VictoriousChildhoodFriend Their future looks bright.]]
* [[GenkiGirl Bu-ling]] and [[BrattyHalfPint Taruto]] in ''TokyoMewMew'' of the 'actually becomes canon' variety -- she kisses him at the end of the manga.
* Mamoru and Hana in ''GaoGaiGar''. One episode even mentions a possible ChildhoodMarriagePromise... even though they're still ''in'' their childhood.
** Hell, at the end of the anime, [[spoiler: all the other little kids get Hana into full wedding regalia and stage a wedding, complete with kiss, right before Mamoru and Galeon fly off into space.]]
** In ''SuperRobotWars W'', Hana actually gets a little jealous of the main character's 10-year-old sister because she gets to work alongside Mamoru.
* Any pairing involving the main characters of ''CardcaptorSakura'' (Sakura, Syaoran, Tomoyo, etc.). Then again, this type of pairing is child's play for {{CLAMP}} ([[PungeonMaster pun intended]]).
** By the end of the manga, ''two'' of these grade-school couples are canon... and for extra fun, it's mentioned that one of the couples has actually been dating for ''years''. [[BeyondTheImpossible Somehow.]]
* ''{{InuYasha}}'': Kagome's brother Souta and his girlfriend Hiromi (might be Anime only).
** More definitely, Kohaku and Rin, [[spoiler: though the ending is ambiguous.]]
* Whilst they act remarkably mature for their ages, many ''{{Naruto}}'' characters fall to this, with fanfics having them having full sexual relations whilst they're still 12. It's more acceptable after the [[TimeSkip time skip]].
** Then there's Konohamaru×Hanabi, which despite the fact that they've [[CrackPairing never met]], would be completely in character for Konohamaru provided that Naruto and Hinata got together, and [[OCStandIn nothing can be out of character for Hanabi,]] so this can be either a completely plausible pairing, or a hilarious slapstick comedy.
* ''AxisPowersHetalia'': Chibitalia and the Holy Roman Empire. [[http://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/43.gif They even kissed in canon]]. And lots of hints point at them being together ''[[NewOldFlame again]]'' as adults, LaserGuidedAmnesia [[spoiler: and [[DudeLooksLikeALady HRE apparently mistaking Chibitalia as a girl]] thanks to the maid outfit]] notwithstanding.
*** Although they apparently met again, without any of them being aware of it, due to the fact that {{Canon}} hints a lot [[spoiler: HRE is actually Germany]].
** As they're both very small, young countries, Latvia and Sealand could also apply.
*** Also, Sealand and [[ShortTank the Principality of Wy]].
**** That could also be Seborga and the Principality of Wy, since he said that he would hit on her/ask her out/do something of a romantic nature had she been a few years old.
* ''ThePrinceOfTennis'': Considering that the Tenipuri characters are all aged 12 to 14, any pairing involving the first years is a Toy Ship. Special mention goes to [[TroubledButCute Ryoma]] and [[ShrinkingViolet Sakuno]], [[TheChewToy Horio]] and [[GenkiGirl Tomoka]] and the FanPreferredCouple of Sakuno and [[{{Keet}} Genki Boy]] [[TheIdiotFromOsaka Kintarou]].
* Pretty much any pairing in ''GakuenAlice'', since all of the main characters are pre-teens, but Mikan/Natsume is incredibly popular.
** Also of note is [[RomanticTwoGirlFriendship Mikan's obvious crush on Hotaru]], with whom she also shares the last dance of the {{school festival}}, with all its romantic [[strike:implications]] text.
* Coby and Lori in ''TransformersCybertron'' have this in a SlapSlapKiss way, suggesting even the creators shipped it. The dub was gracious enough not to edit this out. (Oh, and on a personal note, [[TransformersCybertron Bud]]/[[TransformersEnergon Sally]] OTP.) Jean and Illumina in ''TransformersVictory'' are an earlier example.
** [[TimeSkip Wait isn't Sally like ten years older than Bud in Cybertron?]]
** That depends whether you consider ''Cybertron'' a true TimeSkip or an alternate universe, wherein Bud and Sally would only be able to communicate by crossing from one universe to another.
* ''[[DaaDaaDaa Daa! Daa! Daa!]]'' includes Momo, age 3, who has a crush on Ruu (or Luu), a ''baby''. Ruu's inability to speak in sentences makes it hard to say whether he reciprocates.
** Somehow, Ruu also...[[BrotherSisterIncest involved with his]] {{Not Blood Sibling|s}} in the Sequel ''Shin! Daa! Daa! Daa!'' (set after huge TimeSkip).
* Inverted in ''BlackLagoon'' with [[CreepyTwins Hansel and Gretel]]. While they are two young kids in a pretty loving relationship it is played purely for {{squick}} value.
* Just about any ship in ''MahouSenseiNegima'' involving [[CuteShotaroBoy Negi]] or Kotaro at least partially qualifies as this. Negi×[[ReallySevenHundredYearsOld Evangeline]] also sort of counts as long as you go by looks. Negi×Anya is a straight example, as they're both around 10 years old.
** Akamatsu just took this trope and ran with it, what's with Negi spending lots of time in YearInsideHourOutside places, not to mention the age-deceiving pills. If this keeps going Negi won't just catch up to the age of his potential love interests but he will overtake them
* Kisa and Hiro in ''FruitsBasket''. Hiro had even confessed his love for her to Akito. [[spoiler: Alas, Akito did not approve of the relationship... and severely injured Kisa. That was the start of Hiro's problems...]]
* ''HunterXHunter'' has ridiculous amounts of HoYay between Gon and Killua, both about 12 (deadly killers, but 12).
* Either this or {{Shotacon}} is implied with Chris' family in ''SonicX'' (or poor planning on the writer's part). His paternal grandfather was only 12 when Chris' dad was born.
* ''ZatchBell'': Gash/Zatch×Tio/Tia. And you can still open room for [[StalkerWithACrush Patie/Penny]]. While their ages are not explicitly given, they are always called "demon children".
** Actually the video games state that Gash and Tio are 6 years old and that Patie is 7.
* Any ships in ''HayateTheCombatButler'' that involve the following characters with each other: Nagi, Isumi, Wataru, and Sakuya.
** Not to mention the ''canon'' pairing that was Hayate and [[spoiler: Athena]]. When they were both six years old.
*** And the ShipTease of Hayate and [[spoiler: Izumi]] -- again, when both were six years old.
* Nadja and Kennosuke (both 13), from ''AshitaNoNadja'', have a strong following despite being portrayed more as a running gag.
* Al and May in ''FullmetalAlchemist''. May is understandable since she looks to be about eight and girls usually have crushes by that age, but the somewhat uncomfortable part is that Al seems to like her back. He's fourteen.
** The thing is, we don't actually know how old she is. For all the audience knows, she's just small for her age like how Lin is big for his age. And even then, the Japanese don't have the same qualms about age differences in relationships, especially since both of them are so pure and innocent.
*** Indeed, even if she's younger than him, there's no reason to believe she's not in the double-digits. It also gets less squicky as, when they finally get together, they are both a few years older.
**** Also remember that Al lost his body when he was ten; it's not unreasonable to suggest that puberty hasn't really hit him yet, since he has no hormonal system.
* Pretty much any ship (canon or fandom with Hotaru) in ''SailorMoon'' with [=ChibiUsa=] is a toy ship. Helios and Pearl are probably ancient but look like young boys, Hotaru is no more than five years older than [=ChibiUsa=]--and often much younger--and [=ChibiUsa=] has crushes on a couple of boys her own age during S. The major exceptions to the rule are when [=ChibiUsa=] is paired with the other senshi, who are all in their teens.
** Chronically, however, [=ChibiUsa=] is actually [[ReallySevenHundredYearsOld over 900 years old]] in the manga, though it's also said that she is frozen physically and mentally, so really, that's a mere technicality. Furthermore, in the anime, there's no mention of how old she is, so she could very well be as old--and therefore young--as she looks.
* The ''{{K-ON}}'' manga occasionally flashes back to the ''very'' early days of Ritsu and Mio's friendship. Their shippers like to run with this. (Ditto Yui and Ui.)
** Also Yui and Nodoka.
* ''FairyTail'''s Natsu and Lisanna play family. [[strike: [[DeadLittleSister It won't go much further than that, though.]]]] Even after she came back from [[spoiler: Edolas]], nothing much else has happened between them so far, and lately she seems to have gotten rather close to [[LesYay Juvia]].
* There is a small following for [[ElegantGothicLolita Eve]]×[[ChildSoldier Leon]], the two {{tykebomb}}s in ''BlackCat''.
* Kind of fitting this trope (in the anime at least) is Hitsugaya and Karin from ''{{Bleach}}''. She's eleven, but he's at least fifty... he just looks like he's the same age. Still, he does happen to be the youngest shinigami shown to the audience, so take that as you will.
** Most likely second-youngest. I'm not entirely sure, but I would be shocked if Yachiru was older than Hitsugaya. Hitsugaya is, however, the youngest Captain.
** Hitsugaya and Hiyori's [[ShipsThatPassInTheNight brief]] interaction has gotten them a minor following, which makes them both an odd subversion of this trope given their [[ReallySevenHundredYearsOld actual age]]. Personally, I'd just like to see her hit him with her shoe.
* The boys from ''BokuNoPico''.
* ''RakugoTennyoOyui'' has the (prominent) pairing between 12-year old TeenGenius Suzu and Ponta, who's a tanuki (a young one, so he's about the same age). Suzu gets jealous, there's quite a few SheIsNotMyGirlfriend moments, and they even get a tearful goodbye in the end.
* HigurashiNoNakuKoroNi has a few cases. Rika and Satoko are the most accepted ones. There's also Rika and [[spoiler: Hanyuu]]. The least shipped pairings are both girls with...[[ThoseTwoGuys Those two boys]] that appear at school who like them.
* In ''VisualNovel/UminekoNoNakuKoroNi'' there's [[CreepyChild Maria]] and [[spoiler: Sakutaro.]]
* [[FutureBoyConan Conan]] and Lana.
* {{Ponyo}} and Sousuke.
* Esteban and Zia in ''TheMysteriousCitiesOfGold''.
* ''NeonGenesisEvangelion'' has any of the main cast, mainly Shinji and Asuka, being that they're only thirteen.
* Isidro and Schierke from ''{{Berserk}}''.
* Most of the pairings from ''FushigiboshiNoFutagohime'' qualify, but this trope is awarded to Princess Milky and Prince Nalro, who got some {{Ship Tease}} before they even got out of that babbling stage! Nalro doesn't even know how to walk yet!
* In ''CandyBoy'', Kanade and Yukino have this going on during the flashbacks of their early childhood.
* Keitaro and [[spoiler:Naru]] started this way in ''LoveHina'' when they met and fell in love they were both BELOW grade school age. [[spoiler:Naru however later forgot.]] Also [[spoiler:Mutsumi and Keitaro or perhaps even Mutsumi and Naru]] considering she may well have been in love with both.
[[/folder]]

[[folder:Comics]]
* ''AmeliaRules'', despite being great in most other respects, abuses this trope and seems to have built later parts around it. Although occasionally averted or lampshaded, this trope is mostly played straight; the eponymous character (who is nine years old) has two love interests (also nine).
* Calvin and Susie from ''CalvinAndHobbes'' have [[BelligerentSexualTension Toy Belligerent Sexual Tension]], of all things.
* Jason Fox and Eileen Jacobson in ''FoxTrot''. They're 10.
* ''{{Dennis the Menace|US}}'': Dennis Mitchell and Gina Gillotti.
** [[LoveTriangle And Margaret]].
* ''LoveIs'' is ostensibly cutesy expressions of love illustrated by cherubim. However, it also fits [[TheSimpsons Homer Simpson's]] description: "It's about two naked eight-year-olds who are married."
* ''LittleNemoInSlumberland'': Nemo and the Princess.
* [[http://comics.com/nancy/ Nancy]] and Sluggo.
* Ten-year-olds Viola D'Amore and Petey Otterloop in ''CulDeSac''.
** And Dill has already said that he plans to marry Alice when they grow up. They're '''four'''!
* ''{{Peanuts}}'' has several, although they're all unrequited crushes.
** Charlie Brown is in love with the Little Red Haired Girl.
** Lucy is in love with Schroeder, to the point of fantasizing about them being married.
** Sally is in love with Linus.
** Both Peppermint Patty and Marcie have shown interest in Charlie Brown.
* A rare same-sex version; many see something between Damian/Robin V and Colin/Abuse in the {{Batman}} comics.
[[/folder]]

[[folder:Fan Works]]
* Franklin Richards and Maria Stark in ''[[http://kijikun.livejournal.com/855334.html All That Remains]]'', an ''[[Comicbook/TheAvengers Avengers]]'' fanfic by Kijikun.
* There exists a fanfic of Cody and Penny from ''TheRescuers'' and ''Down Under'' titled ''Adventures in the Outback''.
* Lian Harper and Ceridian (Tempest's little boy) in ''DCNation''.
* A combination of reveals around series 4 of ''{{Skins}}'' has resulted in a clutch of fics exploring Naomi and Emily's Toy Ship potential (the book notes that Emily's been in love with Naomi since middle school (approx. ages 8 to 12), while the [=S4=] finale reveals that Naomi fell in LoveAtFirstSight when she was 12).
* The ''KaBlam'' story ''FanFic/GoodbyeJune''. The fact that Henry and June (also listed under Western Animation) like each other was mostly hinted at on the show, but this story has them separated and heartbroken because they miss each other so much. [[spoiler: It ends with them reuniting, at which point they declare their love for each other (Henry's only recently started crushing on her, but June's crushed on him since preschool!) and kiss. They even propose marriage to each other in advance, although Henry does mention that [[LampshadeHanging it's a ways off and they're way too young to be having this conversation]]. Though if the characters aged in real time, they would probably be in their early teens around the time this story is set.]]
* ''FanFic/PhoenixsSSBBCaseFiles'' has a case where Pearl has an obvious crush on [[KidIcarus Pit]].
* ''Fanfic/{{Deserving}}'', by way of an epic RelationshipWritingFumble, [[http://szaleniec1000.livejournal.com/tag/toddlerslash introduces one between two toddlers.]]
* It's fairly common in Literature/HarryPotter fanfics for an original character to start crushing on, if not outright dating one of the main characters (usually Harry or Draco), despite the fact that they've just started school and are therefore only eleven. Admittedly, this is not limited to relationships. In fics that fall into this trap, the eleven year old children tend to act more like eighteen.
** There is [[http://www.fanfiction.net/s/6125036/1/bonded Bonded]], where [[OneTrueThreesome Harry, Ginny and Hermione]] form an unbreakable [[MindlinkMates soul bond]] between them when Harry is about '''six'''. Admittedly, Dumbledore doesn't expect any action for the next nine years or so...
* A number of ''Series/{{Heroes}}'' fics pair Micah with Molly. They do have a fair amount in common, especially after [[spoiler: Micah's parents are both killed.]]

** To be fair, this one is in the book. Peter never grew up so he doesn't understand this, but Wendy and Tinkerbell are not competing to be his best friend... hence the whole thing with the "kiss".
*** Yeah but then there's the subtext with Hook...
*** Even more creepily, ''that's'' in the book, too, though they expanded it for the movie like they did a lot of other things. Barrie's exact word is "entranced". (''PeterPan'', read as an adult, is actually quite a bit more [[YourMileageMayVary disturbing]] than it is when read by a child.)
* ''ProblemChild 2'' Junior and Trixie.
* ''Santa Claus: The Movie'' Joe and Cornelia.
* ''ThePhantomMenace'' gives us 9 year old Anakin and 14 year old Padme. This, of course, turns out to be canon; but not until he's much older.
* ''LittleManhattan'' is Toy Ship: The Movie, as it's about a 10-year-old boy who falls in love with his 11-year-old friend.
* ''ALittleRomance'' is also Toy Ship: The Movie. Lauren and Daniel are about twelve and attempt to conduct their affair as mature partners would, even going to Venice with an adult friend. One of Diane Lane's first pictures, and some still think her best.
* Francois Truffaut loved this and used it in ''SmallChange'' and ''PeppermintSoda''.
* ''TheBlueLagoon'' (film, more than book) starts out this way.
* Hugo and Isabelle in Martin Scorsese's ''Hugo''.
[[/folder]]

[[folder:Literature]]
* ''Literature/AreYouThereGodItsMeMargaret'' is loaded with this, seeing as it's a book about puberty.
* ''TheBabysittersClub'' series has a large cast of pre-teen characters that are subjected to this. Most fanfiction does age the characters a few years before getting explicitly romantic, though. There's also the sorta-canon Ben and Mallory, who are 11.
** There's even an in-universe example. In a Valentine's Day-themed book, the girls discuss how cute the crushes that a couple of kids they regularly sit for have on each other are.
* ''BridgeToTerabithia'' There are many fans that like to think that, [[spoiler: had Leslie survived]] she and Jess could develop feelings for each other in the future. [[spoiler: Which doesn't make her death any better, anyway.]]
* ''CharlottesWeb'': Fern and Henry
* ''TheChroniclesOfNarnia'' series.
** ''TheMagiciansNephew'' Polly and Digory -- It is mentioned that they remained friends forever, although it is also stated when the Pevensies first meet TheProfessor (who is Digory all grown up) that he never married.
** ''TheSilverChair'' Eustace and Jill also fit as well.
* ''ToKillAMockingbird'' has Scout and Dill.
* ''TheAdventuresOfTomSawyer'' has Tom and Becky.
* Cornelia Funke seems to be fond of this trope, at least in two of her novels. In ''TheThiefLord'', many fans see some subtext between Prosper (12 years old) and Hornet (11-12 years old); and in ''The Dragon Rider'' the Toy Ship is kind of StrangledByTheRedString, because Ben's (10 years old) affection towards Guinever (also 10) is obvious from the start (even from before knowing her!). In both cases, strangely, the pairs became adopted brother-sister, so [[BrotherSisterIncest take that]] [[NotBloodSiblings as you will]].
* The ''EncyclopediaBrown'' series has Encyclopedia and Sally Kimbal. Additionally, there are canon examples. Several cases that Encyclopedia solves involve friends of his or other kids around the same age as him and their love interests.
* ''Literature/HarryPotter'' For couples that aren't canon, any first or second year student at Hogwarts could fit into this trope.
* ''HisDarkMaterials'' Will and Lyra -- At the close of ''The Amber Spyglass'', they are (implicitly) thirteen, and [[OurSoulsAreDifferent their daemons]] have ''just'' "settled", indicating they are on the verge of puberty. Some fans are a little put off by this, especially because, to fulfill ThePowerOfLove, after a slow, tense, sensuous buildup to their FirstKiss, the two touch each other's daemons, a powerfully forbidden and intimate act on par with having sex.
* ''How to Get Married... by Me, the Bride'', a picture book, by Sally Lloyd Jones and Sue Heap.
* ''ASongOfIceAndFire'': Arya and Gendry. People actually ship them even though Arya's ''ten''.
** Another such from those books would be Bran and Meera. She's sixteen, and he's ''nine''.
*** And this is all happening in a setting where that sort of thing is not unusual, and is in fact ''canon'' in several instances.
* {{Literature/Fudge}} (never [[BerserkButton call him Farley]]) and a girl named Mitzi, in the book ''Fudge-A-Mania''. They're about five. And toothachingly cute whenever on the same page.
* ''The Things They Carried'' Tim O'Brien's semi-autobiographical novel features the story of Timmy and Linda, quite possibly the saddest story in a novel centered around The Vietnam War.
[[/folder]]

[[folder:Live Action TV]]
* ''TheAdventuresOfPeteAndPete'': Little Pete and Nona had an awful lot of chemistry in the few episodes it was addressed. Also, pre-puberty Big Pete and Ellen in the first season, despite Big Pete's insistence that ""Look, you're a girl, and you're a friend but [[SheIsNotMyGirlfriend you're not a girlfriend]]!"
* ''El Club de los Tigritos'' was big at this. Venezuelans old enough to have been a kid in TheNineties would remember all the [[SoapOpera tween soaps]] this show spawned, especially the ones done as kid salsa orchestra ''Salserín'' vehicles. It seemed that once you surpassed the eleven years old mark you could engage in your first LoveTriangle.
* ''Carrusel'' and other Mexican kid soapies since it, while more subdued than other examples, tend to have a sub plot of this kind.
* ''EverybodyHatesChris'' Chris and his big love, Tasha (although the other Wiki describes their relationship to be deliberately ''platonic''). To strengthen their newly-forged friendship (which he had been looking forward to for more than a season), he invites his notary public with a stack of documents. Ironically, [[spoiler: it is Chris, who ultimately breaks up with Tasha. In the same episode.]]
* ''FlashForward2009'' Dylan Simcoe and Charlie Benford (who IS female).
* ''GoodLuckCharlie'' Gabe and Jo.
* ''Series/{{Heroes}}'' Micah Sanders and Molly Walker. They have only met ''once'' (in the Season One finale), but the chemistry was so obvious that they were given a [[PortmanteauCoupleName portmanteau name]] in fanfic: "Mocah" (not that chemistry, or even having ''met'', is a prerequisite for such a thing).
** In the graphic novels they meet up again to help find one of the people with abilities, which means that there's hope for the shippers.
* ''{{House}}'' The episode "Two Stories" subverted its usual formula of opening with a scene of someone doing something and then someone (sometimes the same person, sometimes someone else) falling extremely sick, instead focusing on a pair of kids about to make out behind the school at recess when a teacher catches them...and then when they get taken to the principal's office, Dr. House is there as well and is in trouble for some shenanigans at Career Day. Most of the episode is then told in flashbacks, and upon seeing the class that House was talking to, it becomes quite obvious that this is an ''elementary school''. (It eventually comes to light that these characters-of-the-day are fifth graders, which is actually about the right time for kids to begin putting aside their "girls/boys are yucky" feelings from when they're younger.) The kids then manage to show that they're much more mature than [[AdultChild House]] when it comes to handling relationships.
* ''LizzieMcGuire'' Matt and Melina, another DisneyChannel couple with a similar dynamic to the ''GoodLuckCharlie'' example above
* ''MadMen'' has 10-year-old Sally Draper being pretty good friends with 14-year-old Glen Bishop, almost to the point where it's a ''{{Canon}}'' Toy Ship. The idea is made slightly less bizarre on account of the fact that Sally's pretty grown up for being ten (she's fiercely independent and was once caught [[ADateWithRosiePalms caught masturbating]] to [[TheManFromUNCLE Ilya Kuryakin]]). Her mother Betty doesn't approve.
* ''MalcolmInTheMiddle'' Although he doesn't star high school until the 4th season, Malcolm has quite a few girlfriends and love interests before then.
* ''TheNanny'' occasionally has moments of this with Grace and boys her age, as well as with Brighton while a pre-teen and girls his age.
* ''{{Yeralash}}'' is full of this.
* ''Dårfinkar & dönickar'' (''Loonies & Phonies''), a Swedish TV series from 1989 about a 12-year-old girl, Simone, who goes to school as a boy. Simone and her classmate Isak fall in love, while another classmate, Kattis, crushes on the boy she thinks Simone is, and Isak and Kattis have a brief flirtation. Two other kids in their class, Anna and Pepsi (yes, Pepsi is a nickname, not an actual Swedish name) also seem to have a thing.
* ''Livet enligt Rosa'' (''Life According to Rosa''), another Swedish kids' TV show, portrays its 12-year-old protagonist having crushes on five guys and relationships with three of them before [[spoiler: she realises her best friend Ville was the one for her all along.]]
* In ''Ebba och Didrik'', also a Swedish kids' TV show, 9-year-old Ebba and her best friend and sweetheart Philip love one another devotedly. They are building a house together in the woods and plan on living there, till Ebba meets Martin, a poor little rich boy with lots of flashy toys.
* ''Eva & Adam'', yet another Swedish kids' TV show, follows the romantic fortunes of its title characters, about 11-13 years old, who become a couple early on. Their classmates have various romantic entanglements too; indeed, Eva and Adam ship their respective best friends as a couple and try to get them together. [[spoiler: It...almost works.]] Yes, Swedish kids' TV loves this trope.
* The Mexican SoapOpera ''{{Carrusel}}'' has several, seeing that around 80% of the cast was formed by kids no older than 10[[DawsonCasting -12]]. The most notorious ones are [[DoggedNiceGuy Cirilo]]'s onesided crush on [[{{Tsundere}} Maria Joaquina]] as well as [[NiceGuy David]] and [[{{Meganekko}} Valeria]] (and the brief love triangle with [[NewTransferStudent Margarita]].

* ''[[http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5AfTl5Vg73 A Lambada]]'' by Kaoma. The little blonde waitress and the dark-skinned percusionist boy featured in the video.
* ''Iesha'' by Another Bad Creation, the song quoted above. One of the stranger examples. [=ABC=] were a preteen quartet discovered by Michael Bivins, and the song recounts the lead singer meeting Iesha at the playground and falling in love with her "on the monkey bars". It's a little... odd.
* '[[http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=mpaPBCBjSVc Tighten Up]]'' by The Black Keys.
* "Europa and the Pirate Twins" Thomas Dolby, a song about [[UnfortunateImplications very young lovers]] separated by war. Possibly allegorical.
* "Rebecca Lynn" by Bryan White. It's about two children, including the title character, who fall in love "long about the start of second grade", and grow up to become each other's VictoriousChildhoodFriend.
* ''[[http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=KtNYA4pAGjI&feature=channel Concrete Angel]]'' by Martine [=McBride=]. The little neighbor boy falls for the little girl protagonist. It [[AbusiveParents doesn't]] [[OffingtheOffspring end]] [[TooGoodforthisSinfulEarth well]]. [[TogetherinDeath Or it might.]]

* ''BillyHatcherAndTheGiantEgg'' has Billy Hatcher and Rolly Roll. Type them up on {{Deviantart}} and see the love!
* ''{{Castlevania 64}}'' One of the imperfect endings suggests a likely relationship between Carrie and Malus. It would be cuter if Malus wasn't, [[{{Dracula}} you know...]]
* ''EarthBound'' has [[OfficialCouple Ness/Paula]], [[HoYay Jeff/Tony]], and [[KidAnova Poo/his in-universe fangirls]]. ''EarthBoundZero'' has Ninten/Ana, alongside Pippi strongly hinting a crush on Ninten.
* The ''FinalFantasy'' series.
** ''FinalFantasyVI'' Relm and Gau. Not that the game gives them [[ShipsThatPassInTheNight even one piece of interaction with each other]]...
** ''FinalFantasyIX'' Eiko and Vivi. A lot of fans interpreted Eiko's bossiness and Vivi's nervous compliance as cute enough to warrant toy shipping.
* ''GuiltyGear'' Arguably Bridget and Dizzy, although that looks a little more like [[{{Shotacon}} something else]], even though Dizzy's actually only three years old.
** [[MoeCouplet May and Bridget]], looking like a TomboyAndGirlyGirl together at first if you still hadn't found out that [[spoiler:Bridget is a boy.]]
** Actually, as of ''Guilty Gear Accent Core'', Bridget is 17 and May is 15. In no way is Bridget a shota as he's always been shown to be somewhere in his teens although at first his exact age was murky as he was often drawn in that shota fashion.
* ''HarvestMoon''/''RuneFactory'' In some of the games, you essentially take part in this yourself if you decide to ship your first character's child with another child. In at least once instance, you can have a LesYay {{Twincest}} Toy Ship...
** There are more conventional examples throughout the series: Stu and May in ''Back to Nature'' and ''Friends of Mineral Town'', Hugh and Katie in ''A Wonderful Life'' and ''HM DS'', Charlie and Eliza in ''Island Of Happiness'', and Candy and Marco in ''RuneFactoryFrontier''.
* ''TheLegendOfZelda'' series: This is partly what has earned Link (at least the ''OcarinaOfTime'' version) his reputation as a Kirk-level ladies' man. Especially relevant in the case of Malon, in which there was no explicit statement of romantic intention, just pure chemistry (and one cute nickname), "Fairy boy". [[HaveAGayOldTime Ouch.]]
** Link and Zelda in ''[[VideoGame/TheLegendOfZeldaTheWindWaker Wind Waker]]''[=/=]''PhantomHourglass'' and ''SpiritTracks'' (oh boy, ''SpiritTracks'') qualify for this trope. The cartoon art style only emphasizes it. Also ''The MinishCap'', which shares the same cartoon style. The beginning of the game shows they're genuine childhood friends.
* ''ManaKhemia'' In the second game, we have [[TheSmartGuy Enna]] and [[TheUnintelligible Puniyo]]. So far, Enna is the only person who doesn't need the Puni brothers to translate Puniyo's speech, and they usually appear together early in the game. And boy, they sure have plenty amount of {{Ship Tease}}s throughout the game...
* ''Game/MegaMan'' The original series. Forte (Bass) and Roll are a rather popular ship as well- being robots (and thus making the trope somewhat literal), she's eternally 10 and he's eternally 13ish. This ship also pretty much comes from the fact that Roll is the [[TheSmurfettePrinciple only female main character]] and Bass is the pretty much the only male main character that isn't related to her.
** This pairing in fandom probably stems at least in part from the fact Roll was given an insufferable crush on Bass in one of the mangas [[http://images3.wikia.nocookie.net/megaman/images/5/58/Bassxroll.png]]. Despite that Bass's only interest in Roll's crush being to torment Mega Man.
** Depending on the source; the first nine robot masters [[HasTwoMommies had two dads]], in that Light and Wily constructed them. The [[IncestIsRelative technicalities in robot's kinship certainly are a tossup]], but if taken into consideration it would make Bass and Roll half siblings.
** As long as we're putting Mega Man ships here, at least one comic shipped Megaman/[[OurMermaidsAreDifferent Splash Woman]]. He's canonically several years her senior, though.
* ''MegaManBattleNetwork'' Lan and Mayl. Also, one could make a case for [[TheRival Chaud]] and [[TheOjou Yai]], at least going by the anime...
** For the former, there are several {{Ship Tease}}s throughout the series, and not to mention the connection that their Navis are brother and sister in the real game.
** ''MegaManStarForce'' Along that path, Geo and [[LoveTriangle either Luna or Sonia]].
* ''{{Pokemon}}'' Any pairing involving any of the protagonists, pseudo rivals (used loosely outside of RSE) and their rivals, excluding Wes who is around 18 and the occasional CrackPairing (Like [[{{Lolicon}} Dawn×Cynthia]]).
* ''{{Psychonauts}}'' Lili and Raz end up kissing, even though both are 10 years old.
** ''Psychonauts'' goes crazy with this one, Lili and Raz far from the only pairing. It almost makes one suspect that psychic powers accelerate development. After all, understanding other people would be much easier and you'll probably pick up ''[[DirtyMindReading details]]'' from nearby adults.
* ''RuleOfRose'' makes this trope the stuff of nightmares, Diana/Meg especially.
* ''[[SamuraiShodown Samurai Shodown/Samurai Spirits]]'' sees this as well with [[CuteShotaroBoy Shizumaru]] and [[TokenLoli Rimururu]]. This is even hinted at in the Neo geo CD version of the SS RPG game.
* ''SengokuBasara'' -- [[CuteShotaroBoy Ranmaru Mori]] and [[TokenLoli Itsuki]] often hang around together and Itsuki sometimes does scenes on him. She acts bit of {{tsundere}}, fighting him and in the end making him dinner (in ''Sengoku Basara: Battle Heroes'').
* ''SecretOfMana'' an SNES game, one of the towns has a house with a pair of married children.
* ''SonicTheHedgehog'': Tails is sometimes paired with Cream, Amy, or Marine.
** ''SonicX'' Happened in canon with Tails and Cosmo... and [[TearJerker ended tragically]].
** There's also a number of people who pair Cream and Charmy Bee, despite that they don't really interact often (and are six).
*** Cream and Tails, for that matter, don't interact much either.
* ''SuperRobotWars'' manages to take this up a level by mixing it with LesYay. Latooni Subota and Shine-hime have some very ''interesting'' dialogue, not to mention their combination attack in the [[ElegantGothicLolita Faerlions]].
* The ''TalesSeries''.
** ''TalesOfSymphonia'' Genis and Presea. Although, [[spoiler: Presea is actually 28 (30 in the sequel). However, she's still got the body of a 12/14 year old. [[PrecociousCrush This really didn't stop Genis too much after he found out]].]]
** ''TalesOfTheAbyss'' On a similar note, Arietta and Ion (Or Anise and Ion).
*** What about Natalia/Luke [[spoiler: Asch]]?
** ''TalesOfVesperia'', twelve year old Karol and Nan.
** ''TalesOfInnocence'', conveniently named, has Hermana and Chien .
* ''{{Touhou}}'': While it's debatable how old they actually are, [[http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=uI3RkRuXJuU Cirno and Daiyousei are often shipped together]] and both are portrayed as very young in either canon or fanon.
** Cirno is at least sixty years old on account of realizing the events of Phantasmagoria of Flower View happened before, sixty years prior to the events of the game.
* ''{{Pac-Man}}'' Junior fell for a ghost named Yum-Yum in one game. It's also a case of StarcrossedLovers, since the two species hate each other (and ghosts apparently eat Pac-people).
* Herve and Cecilia in {{Folklore}} are a particularly sad and sweet case. Even though both of them were only children, [[spoiler: she risked her life and soul to save him, and in the end he gave his life willingly to save hers.]] If that's not love, I don't know what it is.
[[/folder]]

[[folder:Web Comics]]
* ''FuzzyThings'' seems to actively encourage this.
* ''WebComic/{{Homestuck}}'' has quite the community of shippers surrounding it (read: everyone has been paired with everyone, [[CrackPairing no exceptions]]), and a few ships that are actually canon, even though the main characters are all 13. It helps that most of them act and curse like they're much older.
** Also, 13 is an age when a lot of real-life kids become interested in dating and start getting crushes on each other, but in RealLife such relationships are almost always short-lived and pretty tame, which the shippers tend to ignore.
** [[ShipperOnDeck One of the characters]] even has a "Shipping Wall" -- a wall of drawings representing possible ships between her and her 11 friends. Though it includes non-romantic friend-shippings and they are aliens with plenty of strange relationship forms.
** Somewhat justified in the Trolls' case, due to their societal norms, which encourage seeking a matesprit and a kismesis (two kinds of Troll partners) [[MateOrDie before the Imperial Drone visits them]]. The humans are noticeably less interested in forming {{Toy Ship}}s than the trolls.
*** This is actually {{lampshade|Hanging}}d by John during a meeting between him, Dave, and Karkat.
--->'''John:''' i don't think i have ever actually liked a girl before in that way, so i am not really sure what i am supposed to feel or do...
--->[. . .]
--->'''Karkat:''' OH OK, SO THE ALIEN HERE IS THE ONLY ONE CONCERNED WITH THE PROPAGATION OF YOUR SPECIES. THAT MAKES A LOT OF FUCKING SENSE. WHY DON'T YOU WISE THE FUCK UP, COOLDOUCHE?
--->'''John:''' i think he is right, i think we are all a little young to be thinking about that!
* ''KevinAndKell'': Nigel and Coney, seemed to have this (until Nigel was written out of the comic).
* ''WebComic/OzyAndMillie'': Creator D.C. Simpson, while in the process of bringing the strip to a close, attempted to thwart the Toy Ship crowd by providing the title characters with a more satisfying and appropriate relationship: brother and sister, as their single parents have casually decided to get married.
** [[http://ozyandmillie.org/2007/10/12/ozy-and-millie-1970/ Or]] [[http://ozyandmillie.org/2008/06/11/ozy-and-millie-2092/ did]] [[NotBloodSiblings she]]?
* ''WebComic/{{Precocious}}'': The author made the characters all canines and felines partially to [[http://chrispco.blogspot.com/2009/12/can-i-have-this-dance.html prevent shipping]] (apparently they're incompatible).
* From ''Webcomic/TheWhiteboard'', Jinx and the Cheetah Girl, though at present the feeling is somewhat [[GirlsHaveCooties one-sided]].
[[/folder]]

[[folder:Western Animation]]
* ''WesternAnimation/TheAdventuresOfJimmyNeutron'' Jimmy and Cindy continued to be one of the biggest {{Ship Tease}}s with the fans asking, many since the original movie, WillTheyOrWontThey. They're all eleven.
** The {{Squick}} factor occurs when Carl has a crush on Jimmy's mom. Even worse than that: he once expressed an interest in Miss Fowl -- in the same episode as the forgetful Doctor, Professor Calamitous, echoed the same sentiment!
* ''WesternAnimation/TheSimpsons'' has Lisa and her ongoing BelligerentSexualTension with Milhouse, yet both of them have been through plenty of other relationships, one well known one being Samantha Stanky in the episode "Bart's Friend Falls in Love"
* ''WesternAnimation/AvatarTheLastAirbender'' has a few. Some shippers feel Aang and Toph (both 12) are [[FanPreferredCouple preferable]]. There's also Aang and Meng, who appears to be younger than him, as well as Aang and Onji.
** Not that the OfficialCouple is much better, with Aang and Katara (14). But technically Aang [[ReallySevenHundredYearsOld is 112]] due to being trapped in the iceberg...
** It's also worth a mention that (if Northern Water Tribe customs are any indication of customs in the rest of the four nations) the acceptable age for marriage in the ATLA world appears to be sixteen. See RealLife cultural differences below.
* ''WesternAnimation/TheBackyardigans'' also has '''loads''' of Toy Shipping.
* ''WesternAnimation/TheBatman'' has Robin and Batgirl, who are both around 12. However, the show plays it more like a brother/sister thing, with constant bickering between the two and little romantic attraction.
** Even worse if Batgirl didn't skip grades. In one of her last few appearances, she had just started college, and this would make her 17 or 18.
** That took place a whole year after Season 4, and towards her first appearance she was taking a driver's test making her 16 originally.
* ''WesternAnimation/{{Ben 10}}'' Ben and Gwen certainly qualify, them being 10 and ''[[KissingCousins cousins]]''.
** Let's not forget Kai, the girl Ben had a crush on for one episode despite being of the opinion that GirlsHaveCooties most of the rest of the time.
** Also, Ben/Kevin if we wanna go the HoYay route. Exacerbated by Kevin's [[spoiler: HeelFaceTurn]] in the TimeSkip sequels.
* In ''WesternAnimation/BlinkyBill'', there's Blinky X Nutsy.
* ''TheBoondocks'' Huey and Jazmine. Riley and Cindy, too.
* All the characters in ''BubbleGuppies''. There's an even six of them, so the combinations of shippings work nicely. Molly/Gil has even risen to the point where there's so much "subtext" it's ridiculous.
* ''ChalkZone'' Rudy and Penny. Subtle in the show, not so much in some fan fiction.
* ''CodenameKidsNextDoor'' loves this trope (it has to, with all its heroes under the age of 13). As the show usually parodies action and sci-fi movies and shows, it would not be complete without romantic subplots. ''KND'' fandom likes it too. Everyone is apparently in love with everyone else. Except Lizzie. She [[DieForOurShip needs to die. Painfully]] (and even ''she'' has her shippers).
** "Operation: I.T" is a BattleCouple-heavy story featuring Nigel and the KND supreme commander Numbah 362.
** KND even has a rare ''villain'' example of this trope: Numbah Three's mean baby sister Mushi and the self-proclaimed King Sandy. They get bonus points for being even younger than the other couples.
** They even have a cross-faction couple, with [[PrecociousCrush Numbuh 2 and Cree]] -- actually shown when Numbah 2 finds a way to assume a teenage form and goes on several dates with her.
* ''WesternAnimation/{{Cyberchase}}'' Matt/Inez (11 and 9, respectively) is very popular in fanfiction and is occasionally played with lightly in the series (but more in the form of BelligerentSexualTension). Slider (13) tends to be paired up with Jackie (11) in fanfiction.
* ''DiGataDefenders'' Rian and Kara.
* ''{{Doug}}'' had Doug and Patti, who were both in sixth grade when the series began and just finishing up seventh grade when it ended. There was also Skeeter and Beebe.
* ''TheFairlyOddparents'' Timmy Turner, despite being ten-years-old (and mentally [[IdiotHero even lower]]), repeatedly sought a relationship with the resident RichBitch Trixie and was sought after by two other girls, Tootie and Veronica. Trixie and Tootie are the two most likely to get Timmy, and they've both had their moments with him. According to WordOfGod, both are likely candidates.
** At the end of one of the movies, there is a TimeSkip that showed Timmy's kids. They were meant to have features of both Trixie and Tootie in order to keep fans guessing, but its definitely Tootie.
*** If we take the LiveAction TimeSkip TV movie ''[[AFairlyOddMovieGrowUpTimmyTurner Grow Up Timmy Turner]]'' as canon, then [[spoiler: they're most likely Tootie's kids.]]
* ''GormitiTheLordsOfNatureReturn'': Jessica is being shipped with [[{{Determinator}} Toby]] by quite a few fans.
* ''WesternAnimation/{{Histeria}}'' has Loud×Charity, Froggo×Aka, Pule×Susanna, Lucky Bob×Cho-Cho, and Toast×Pepper. Only the last two were actually revealed to be {{Official Couple}}s on the show, though. (And anyway, Toast and Pepper are already teenagers, and therefore would already have the necessary hormones that would result in attraction to each other.)
* ''KaBlam'': Henry and June, which is somewhat justified, as it's rather obvious that they have crushes on each other.
* ''LittleBear'' has a few, mostly Little Bear and [[InterspeciesRomance Emily]].
* ''MagicSchoolBus'' Since they are all kids, pretty much everyone has been ShipTease with each other. Carlos with DA, Ralphie with Keesha, and Arnold with Wanda. The show also has teased Arnold/Phoebe and Arnold/DA in various episodes. There were also hints at Carlos/Phoebe ("All Dried Up", "Spins a Web"), Ralphie/DA ("Plays Ball"), Ralphie/Wanda ("Goes Upstream"), Carlos/Janet tension ("Gets Swamped"), and Arnold had a crush on a girl in another class in "Wet All Over".
* ''Martin Matin'' Suzanne and Martin.
* ''Orson and Olivia''.
* ''WesternAnimation/PhineasAndFerb'': Phineas/Isabella, ''BIG'' time. Also, Ferb/Gretchen (the [[{{Meganekko}} glasses-wearing Fireside Girl]]) is a popular pairing among fans. Not to mention [[HoYay Buford/Baljeet]].
* ''RainbowBrite'' and either Brian (the {{muggle}} boy) or Krys (from TheMovie). Heck, Rainbow and Krys's interactions give them a pint-sized case of BelligerentSexualTension.
* ''WesternAnimation/{{Rugrats}}''. All of the main child characters, the oldest of whom is three. Tommy and Kimi, for one. Also, before Kimi came along, Chuckie had two one-episode love interests. One of their names escapes me and the other was a {{tsundere}} named Megan. There was also the episode where Chuckie and Lil got married, causing much {{squee}}age.
* ''{{Skyland}}'' Lena and Cheng.
* ''WesternAnimation/SouthPark'' is '''loaded''' with HoYay, and some of the shippers get downright vicious. A canonical example would be Stan and Wendy, who actually are "boyfriend and girlfriend".
** On another point, this also leads to a [[YourHeadAsplode head-exploding]] number of fanfics in which the kids are aged to high-school. It's not bad in and of itself, but the fact that literally ''92%'' of all South Park stories are treated with this make it nearly unbearable.
* ''CasperTheFriendlyGhost'' Casper and Wendy anyone? In the old comic books, they're ambiguously canon, in fact.
* Yugo and Amalia from ''{{Wakfu}}''.
* ''WesternAnimation/WordGirl''. Whatever way you pair them up, the most "shipped" characters (Becky, Scoops, Violet, and Tobey,) are all ten years old.
* ''{{Recess}}'': TJ/Spinelli, by far. And, in one episode, Gus/Cornchip Girl.
* ''WesternAnimation/ThePowerpuffGirls'' fandom has been prone to quite a bit of this, and not least with the obvious pairing of the Powerpuff Girls with their [[DistaffCounterpart spear counterparts]] the Rowdyruff Boys. And they're ''five''.
** There is also quite a bit of Bubbles/Mike out there. And a bit of [[LesYay (insert PPG here)/Robyn]] too.
* Prince Pyrus and Lady Zera of ''ShadowRaiders'' are practically the...well...poster children for this trope. The notable episode being "Against All Odds."
* ''SchoolForVampires'': Oskar and Sunshine, bonus points for ForbiddenFriendship since Oskar is a vampire and Sunshine is a human
* [[WesternAnimation/DoraTheExplorer Dora]]/[[GoDiegoGo Diego]] exists. Yes, they ''are'' [[KissingCousins cousins]]. Your point?

* The boys from ''BokuNoPico''.
* [[FutureBoyConan Conan]] and Lana.
* {{Ponyo}} and Sousuke.

* [[http://comics.com/nancy/ Nancy]] and Sluggo.
* A rare same-sex version; many see something between Damian/Robin V and Colin/Abuse in the {{Batman}} comics.

[[folder:Films -- Animation]]
* [[RebelliousPrincess Eilonwy]] and Taran in ''Disney/TheBlackCauldron''.
* ''Film/{{Coraline}}'' In the movie version, the eponymous character has an adorable friendship with her neighbor (and Other neighbor) Wybie; fandom's given them a PortmanteauCoupleName.
[[/folder]]

[[folder:Films -- Live Action]]
* ''[[TheAddamsFamily Addams Family Values]]'' Wednesday and Joel
-->'''Wednesday''': Joel, I may never see you again. There are forces tearing us apart - Gary, Debbie, 7th grade.
* ''AkeelahAndTheBee'' Akeelah and Javier.
* ''Film/PeterPan'' The 2003 movie. A lot of critics were creeped out.

* ''CharlottesWeb'': Fern and Henry
* ''TheChroniclesOfNarnia'' series.

* ''GoodLuckCharlie'' Gabe and Jo.

[[folder:Video Games]]
* The ''FinalFantasy'' series.
* The ''TalesSeries''.

--->[. . .]

* In ''WesternAnimation/BlinkyBill'', there's Blinky X Nutsy.
* ''DiGataDefenders'' Rian and Kara.
* ''Orson and Olivia''.
* ''{{Skyland}}'' Lena and Cheng.
Your point?
