* ''Series/ClarissaExplainsItAll'': One episode has Ferguson getting a big head for his grades and deciding to participate in a TV show named Brain Drain (to answer questions for prize money). Clarissa, who apparently thinks he's an EvilGenius in the making, confronts him and he replies with "First I will conquer Brain Drain and then the world!"

A resident MadScientist, DarkLord or EvilSorcerer is seeking to TakeOverTheWorld, but first he has to practice small scale. How about his hometown? Or maybe the nearest city? Some of the time, most of the plot happens in his small-scale practice (possibly in [[AliensInCardiff Cardiff or a similar location]]), making him an insignificant, yet amusing, force. Sometimes he succeeds and becomes a very serious threat to the world.
