* ''VideoGame/BaldursGate'' has Dynaheir, a powerful witch of Rashemen, which in the Forgotten Realms lore is a north-eastern country whose people are explicitly said to be dusk-skinned and whose culture is similar to that of Ukraine/Ruthenia, Medieval Russia and Tatar kingdoms. Her bodyguard, Minsc, has indeed a Eastern Slavic-resembling accent. But Dynaheir is black, the only one in a game set in a land resembling Northern Europe, with a thick Afro-American accent filled with some attempts of YeOldeEnglish words. It is never stated nor discussed in-game if she was an immigrant, adopted, or descendant of immigrants, nor if Rashemen is more ethnically diverse than previously depicted. She is also supposed to always wear a mask as per custom of the Rashemi wychlaran, but there is no mention as well of that and her face is always visible.

* ''VideoGame/BaldursGateSiegeOfDragonspear'' was criticized for introducing several token minority characters. The one that got most attention was Mizhena, a woman who, upon first meeting her in the game, when you choose certain dialogue options about how she got her name, reveals that she's transgender. She does this before providing little else in the context of the game.

* ''Series/TheLordOfTheRingsTheRingsOfPower'': Arodir is the only non-Caucasian Elf introduced. He could be a literal interpretation of the ''moriquendi'' (dark elves), who like Arondir were more attached to Middle-earth than the other elves, though traditionally they didn't live as far east as Tirharad. The distinctively different style of the armour worn by Arondir and the other elves initially standing guard with him also strongly suggests they belong to a different group than Galadriel or Elrond.

** ComicBook/TheFalcon was this in-universe. He was added to The Avengers because [[ObstructiveBureaucrat Gyrich]] insisted that the team should have more black members; he didn't actually want to join. According to Christopher Priest, Falcon's nickname in the Marvel offices throughout the 70s and early 80s was "Fal-coon". No, Priest wasn't alright with it, though being a lowly intern at the time, he didn't raise a big stink. In his blog, he refuses to name the co-workers who used it for fear of burning his bridges. Years later, Triathlon served the exact same role (again, in-universe) during Creator/KurtBusiek's run. Later iterations of the team were thankfully more diverse.
** Rage also has bits of this in his debut story. He's given a spot on the Avengers line-up after picking a fight with Captain America over the lack of minority heroes on the team.
