So? Does that mean marines can't say it? If he said it was the Marines' motto, that'd be one thing, but he's just using it in a sentence.

* CriticalResearchFailure - One of the Marines tells Hummel that we should "Be all we can be!" which is the old Army motto.

* HypocriticalHumor -- Some between Hummel and Mason during their first conversation. Hummel accuses Mason of not knowing what it's like to see your government betray the memory of their soldiers. Mason, of course, spent half his life in prison (including the one they're standing in) because the British disavowed him.

It's heavily implied he knows he has to do a lot of improvising since he says he's confident... if the incinerator patterns haven't changed since he was gone.

* FridgeLogic: Mason was able to go through the incinerator, carefully avoiding the conveniently timed blasts of flame, and opens the door from the other side to get them in. So the security door only keeps people from breaking '''in''' to the prison?
** Take it a step further and you wonder why he had to roll through the incinerator when there was a perfectly good unlocked door there.
** They reversed the lock when they turned the prison into a museum.
** The "timings" remaining intact after so many decades is already a stretch, so you might not realize you'd need a totally different pattern to traverse the incinerator backwards. [[OneWayTrip Such a route might even be physically impossible]]!

** After Goodspeed launches the rocket to kill the gutting man, why does the last chip stay important? ''It was the last rocket'', it just went into the bay. Unless being a Marine means you can HailMary the gas into San Fran, the final fight means nothing.
*** The morgue scene hints to plenty of perfectly serviceable rockets still existing in the Rock, they are just missing their guidance chips.
*** Shortly after, Goodspeed smashes the remaining chips so the final fight is about saving the hostages from the airstrike.
*** There's still one chip to call another bluff.
