When Case sees through her eyes, he notes with surprise that they don't dampen the light.

* ''Series/HardGay''.
* Clifford of ''Franchise/TheMuppets'', except in ''Series/MuppetsTonight''. It seems likely that "classic" Clifford doesn't have eyes under the shades, so taking them off would be a bit NightmareFuel.
** Fozzie also wore them one episode, after the band declared him officially hip. He spent the rest of the episode bumping into things from wearing them indoors.

* Cameron from ''Series/TerminatorTheSarahConnorChronicles'' did this, though as part of a ShoutOut to the T-800 of the above films.
* Marvel's Netflix series:
** Since Matt Murdock in ''Series/Daredevil2015'' is blind, he has to wear his sunglasses whenever he's not in his Daredevil gear, even at night.
** Hernan "Shades" Alvarez tends to wear his trademark sunglasses at all times. He takes them off when he means business.
* The Doctor in ''Series/DoctorWho'', briefly in season five's "The Hungry Earth". Justified in that they're night vision sunglasses.
** He pulls it again in "The Woman Who Lived", wearing his sonic sunglasses on a robbery after dark rather than accept the offer of a domino mask.
* TheManShow suggested doing this when walking on the street to ogle women without getting noticed.

* In the fifth season ''Series/{{Supernatural}}'' episode ''Changing Channels'', the main characters are trapped inside various television shows. This trope is [[LampshadeHanging lampshaded]] in a thinly veiled ''Series/CSIMiami'' parody:
--> '''Sam:''' "You gotta calm down."
