* ''Series/{{Emergency}}'': While laid up with a broken leg in "The Nuisance," Johnny becomes hooked on a glacially-paced soap opera, despite thinking it's garbage. Every episode we see has a woman on a FreudianCouch talking about her philandering husband and her inferiority complex towards her mother, while the psychologist accuses her of being hostile towards various people. During different segments, the psychologist sits closer and closer to her couch, and her position on it becomes more alluring. After Roy and Lopez get injured, they become fans as well, and the episode ends with the woman and the psychologist about to start an affair.

* There's a Wicked oneshot "Blackout" in which Elphaba and Fiyero mock a (radio) soap opera that Galinda (and Boq) are obsessed with, when the power goes off during a pivotal moment of the show. They try and predict the ending, with many of the ridiculous tropes mentioned above.
* The House MD fanfiction "Woman" has House and Cameron having a bet by trying to predict the storyline of one of House's soaps that he watches.

* The popular Quebecer TV Show ''Le Coeur à ses raisons'' (which means "The heart has its reasons") was all about that. It featured two twin sisters with HUGE breasts and no brain, [[http://bizhonours.free.fr/pics/cultes/lcasr/criquette.jpg Criquette]] and [[http://img174.imageshack.us/i/ashleypb3.jpg/ Ashley]] (played by the same actress, so when they were in the same room they used over the top gags to hide the face of one of the two characters). It also included [[http://i38.servimg.com/u/f38/11/18/18/97/brettb10.jpg triplets all played by the same actor]], a doctor (Brett), his evil twin brother (Brad) and his evil sister (Brenda) who appears in the second season. Oh, and that's [[http://bizhonours.free.fr/pics/cultes/lcasr/crystale.jpg their mom]]. The show was mainly an accumulation of clichés that you usually see in soap operas. They even had a dog, Flatsy, who they all understood. And it's all played for laughs. [[https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=pJY8pFVJvJo This is was it looked like most of the time]].
