When Batman showed her a bit of kindness by returning a dress she'd bought and told her even though she's going back to Arkham, she should get a little happiness. Touched, Harley gives him a quick peck. Then, looking playful, gives him a long, long smooch, telling him to call her. Robin and Poison Ivy, watching, seem weirded out.

** Hiccup gets one at the end of ''WesternAnimation/{{How to Train Your Dragon|2010}}'' from [[spoiler:Astrid]], commenting that he could get used to something like that afterward.

* ''WesternAnimation/RobinHood1973'': The news that the winner of the upcoming archery tournament wil receive a kiss from Maid Marian is what convinces Robin to participate, despite being a wanted outlaw. He never gets it though since he is taken captive following his victory.

** Played straight at the end of [[WesternAnimation/HowToTrainYourDragon the movie]], [[spoiler:also from Astrid]].

* Done in the GoldenEnding of ''VideoGame/KidIcarus'', following a PlotRelevantAgeUp.

* Inverted during an issue of ''ComicBook/MarvelTeamUp'' #4 between [[Characters/MarvelComicsPeterParker Spider-Man]] and the ComicBook/XMen. When Spider-Man is saved from an infection caused by Characters/{{Morbius}} the Living Vampire, [[Characters/MarvelComicsJeanGrey Jean Grey]] uses her powers to locate the professor who can save him. After webbing up [[Characters/MarvelComicsCyclops Cyclops]], [[HeroesWantRedheads Spider-Man thanks her with a smooch.]] She would return the favor years later in an issue of ''Spectacular Spider-Man''. The original five X-Men and Spidey team up to defeat Prof. Power. After they save the day, Jean gives him a peck on the cheek. Keep in mind that she was married to Cyclops at the time who was standing beside them but Spidey was also happily married to [[Characters/MarvelComicsMaryJaneWatson Mary Jane]] (he even jokingly said "lipstick on the mask. How will I explain this to my wife?") so it was obvious that it was just a [[PlatonicKissing friendly smooch]].

* In ''Manga/MedakaBox'', [[spoiler:Medaka kisses Zenkichi [[TheBigDamnKiss in front of the entire school]] as she concedes the position of StudentCouncilPresident and admits that she's fallen for him.]]

* Everyone in Townsville is missing one sock from their laundry in ''WesternAnimation/ThePowerpuffGirls'' story "Sock It To Me" (DC issue #46), due to the Gangreen Gang stealing the other sock. The girls have some difficulty in stemming the tide until Bubbles makes a comment that gives Blossom and Buttercup an idea. They kiss Bubbles on her cheeks for the inspiration.

* Smurfette does this to Smurf as his reward for her rescue in the UsefulNotes/Atari2600 version of ''VideoGame/SmurfRescueInGargamelsCastle'' and in Infogrames' ''VideoGame/TheSmurfs1994''.

* Played with in ''WebAnimation/SethMacFarlanesCavalcadeOfCartoonComedy'' when Mario wants Princess Peach to kiss him after he rescued her but she refuses. He then lets Bowser eat her after getting fed up with her.

** In "Skeltons in the Closet" Destro gets one from a female Cobra Trooper after he saves her from getting blown up by a land mine, this makes his girlfriend Baroness jealous.

* ''WesternAnimation/ThePerilsOfPenelopePitstop'': Penelope has done this a couple of times to a member of the Anthill Mob particularly Clyde or DumDum after they rescue her or help her with one of her goals, she has also kissed Sylvester Sneakly the alter ego of the villain The Hooded Claw after he reluctantly gives away money to charity a few times.

* The [[Recap/PokemonHolidayHiJynx Christmas episode]] of ''Anime/PokemonTheOriginalSeries'' has Ash and friends helping Santa's Jynx get back home; Jynx keeps insisting on kissing them as thanks.

** Double subverted with [[spoiler: Hinoki]]. Keima wasn't the one who captured the runaway spirit inside of her so therefore didn't kiss her. However, before she left, she kissed him anyways, much to everyone's - including Keima's - shock.

* An ... interesting variation occurs when old man Yanagi attempts to do this to main character Yusei after the latter won a duel in ''Anime/YuGiOh5Ds.''
* ''Anime/DigimonTamers'': Ryo tries to invoke this trope with Rika ("What do I get for saving your life not once but ''twice''?) But it doesn't work. ("How about twice the whooping?")

* ''Manga/GirlsBravo'' inverts the trope by having [[PsychoLesbian Kosame]] give the kiss to Kirie, despite having [[TakingTheBullet taken a blow]] [[NinjaMaid from Lilica]] for her. While Kirie was disappointed that they lost, she was more concerned for Kosame's condition and was so relived to see she hadn't been seriously injured that she embraces her. Which prompts Kosame to kiss her.
* In episode 29 of ''Anime/DragonBallSuper'', Bulma does this to Vegeta after he quickly gathered the Dragon Balls for Beerus and Whis, which he did out of fear after Beerus threatened to kill him if he didn't. After receiving the kiss, he freaks out and tells her to warn him next time she does that.
* In episode 216 of ''Anime/OnePiece'' after Foxy Pirate member Porche falls into the sea after being knocked off her partner Hamburg, Sanji jumps in to save her and she thanks him with a kiss which causes him to faint and they are both eliminated from the race because the old man who they were supposed to Tag saw them move.
* In episode 22 of ''Anime/GoLion'' after finding the cure for the flower born illness caused by space flowers Princess Fala rewards Isamu with a kiss on the cheek, Hiroshi wants one too but instead he ends up being kissed by her pet mice, he doesn't know this because his eyes were closed and thinks she kissed him four times, she later kisses Hiroshi for real in episode 30 when he awakens her from a deep sleep that the evil Prince Sincline put her in.

* At the end of ‘’Anime/DragonsHeaven’’ after Ikuuru finds Shaian the battle robot fully functional after he destroyed the evil robot Elmedain, nearly being destroyed in the process, she gives him a kiss on his face plate.
* Gender-inverted in ''Manga/KaguyaSamaLoveIsWar''. It was agreed that whoever found the Culture Festival's balloon thief would get a reward of their choosing. Kaguya realizes a few minutes after the subplot concludes that she never actually got her reward, and kisses Shirogane.
