* Don Wei of ''WesternAnimation/ObanStarRacers'' became upset when his wife died in a racing accident. He took his only daugheter, Eva, and abandoned her in a boarding school with an abusive dean because she looked too much like his deceased wife, and never bothered contacting her even once. He then went on to become an abusive boss at his company. When Eva escaped from the boarding shcool and met her fathter, ''he didn't recognize her.'' Eva actually impressed her dad with her mechanic skills, and took on an alias, Molly, so she could participate in the upcoming Great Race of Ōban. Later, when she revelaed who she really was to her dad, she absolutly hammered home how bad a person he had been.

* Dr. Mar Londo in ''WesternAnimation/LegionOfSuperHeroes'' experimented on his unwilling son, turning him into a werewolf-like creature. He wanted to create a monster (by using a human for a template rather than an animal like his previous experiments) for the purpose of serving him as a general for his army for galactic domination. To make matters worse he thinks his son should be ''thanking'' him for this.
* ''WesternAnimation/MiraculousLadybug'': Season 2 pushed Gabriel Agreste over this line: He was already a controlling, emotionally neglectful and generally unpleasant individual who barely acknowledged his son Adrien's existence except when he was useful, but then it turned out [[spoiler:that he was the BigBad.]] Any lingering audience sympathy for Gabriel due to [[WellIntentionedExtremist mitigating circumstances]] was largely wiped out by [[Recap/MiraculousLadybugS02E11Gorizilla "Gorizilla"]], after [[spoiler: his latest scheme very nearly got Adrien killed.]]

* Fire Lord Ozai in ''WesternAnimation/AvatarTheLastAirbender'' burned his own son's face and banished him for three years for refusing to fight him, ultimately becoming the BigBad of the series.

** ''VideoGame/PokemonBlackAndWhite'': [[spoiler: [[TheManBehindTheMan Ghetsis Harmonia Gropius]] is the true leader of Team Plasma and the adoptive father of N, a boy with the miraculous gift of being able to communicate with Pokemon, and uses it for his ambitions to TakeOverTheWorld. For years, he gaslights and manipulates N to make him Team Plasma's PuppetKing, using him to convince people to release their Pokemon, so that no one can stand up to Ghetsis when he tries to rule the world. His Pokemon team is also suspiciously well made to counter N's team, all but stating he was going to [[OffingTheOffspring kill N]] when [[YouHaveOutlivedYourUsefulness he was of no use to him anymore]]. He gets even worse in [[VideoGame/PokemonBlack2AndWhite2 the sequel]], where he attempts to kill both the player and N by having the legendary Pokemon Kyurem freeze them, and when offered the chance to reconcile by N, Ghetsis flies into a mad rage, calling N a monster and a "freak without a human heart.]]

A BigScrewedUpFamily of despotic MultiversalConquerors who assimilate themselves into [[HiveMind the Core]] to become Immortal. For millenium, the Leviathan ancestors and current king would Gaslight and manipulate their heirs to become psychopathic warlords like them, prominently displayed with Aldrich's manipulation of his son Andrias. When Andrias accidentally loses the Calamity Box, Aldrich and the other Leviathans guilt-trip Andrias for the next 1000 years to make him their obedient servant, and when he breaks down in regret and despair in ''All In'', Aldrich resorts to a painful MindRape to force Andrias to keep fighting for them. In the series finale, Andrias finally has enough of his family's abuse, and helps the Calamity Trio in destroying the Core.]]
