** Hughes has this kind of extreme affection for his wife Gracia and his daughter Elicia, but perhaps atypically, it makes him really likable rather than annoying. It helps that he's a pretty {{Badass}} KnifeNut.

* A few episodes into the 16th season of ''WesternAnimation/SouthPark'', of all the possible characters, [[spoiler: Cartman and Heidi Turner]] end up becoming this. It's exactly as strange as it sounds, and the entire student body at their school falls into a stunned silence upon finding out out it.

* ''Franchise/SamuraiWarriors'' - Oichi and Nagamasa are like this, much to Hideyoshi's irritation (they got the last laugh, though; he married one of their daughters as a concubine, and proceeded to indulge her every whim).

* ''Manga/OuranHighschoolHostClub'' has Tamaki ''wanting'' one of these. He has more then just a few ImagineSpot moments where he fantasizes about Haruhi fawning over him, dressing up for him and eating his compliments raw. It's PlayedForLaughs since sooner or later either Haruhi herself or the twins can be seen in the background, observing him talking to his fantasy idea of her and they always react disgusted, sometimes loudly wondering about Tamakis mental state.

* Thomas and Martha Jefferson in ''Theatre/SeventeenSeventySix''. Tom misses Martha so much that he's rendered [[WritersBlock completely unable]] to concentrate on writing the Declaration of Independence and Adams has to send for her. When she arrives, she and Tom glom onto each other to the extent that they don't even ''notice'' anyone else is in the room; afterwards, Martha has a number about just ''how much'' she loves Tom and his violin.

When she arrives, she and Tom glom onto each other to the extent that they don't even ''notice'' anyone else is in the room; afterwards, Martha has a number about just ''how much'' she loves Tom and his violin. (Contrast this with John Adams and his wife Abigail, who -- having been married for considerably longer -- spend as much time bickering as they do flirting and sometimes do both at once. TruthInTelevision; one of the reasons Adams fell so deeply in love with Abigail in the first place was because she was his equal in snarkery.)
