* According to a legend (depicted most prominently in ''Literature/GestaDanorum'') King Harald Bluetooth of Denmark died during an ambush from getting hit with an arrow in his ass. The story is more a bit questionable though, and most likely a later attempt to smear and ridicule the King by depicting his demise as an UndignifiedDeath.

** During the Omaha landings one of the medics helping Wade takes a bullet through the canteen hanging from his hip. The canteen begins leaking water... and then it begins leaking bloody water. The medic jolts up and begins frantically reaching around for bandages to stuff down his trousers.

* An early episode of ''LightNovel/DirtyPair'' has Yuri getting shot in the ass during a mission. Thankfully she's wearing a full-body bulletproof suit, but it still hurts her and she quickly takes payback against the responsible.

* In ''Literature/PercyJacksonAndTheOlympians'', while Chiron is trying to teach Percy archery, Percy accidentally shots him in the hindquarters. Chiron being a centaur and the arrows not being particularly sharp means that there is no serious injury.
* In ''Literature/{{Sharpe}}'', the titular protagonist shoots a particularly cowardly and incompetent UpperClassTwit in the arse during a duel. It was nearly subverted, in that Sharpe was actually aiming for the man's belly (which would lead to a prolonged and agonizing death), but missed.
