* A big point of appeal for the character of The Doctor in ''Series/DoctorWho'' is that, while all of the actors to have played him so far are rather attractive, it's usually expressed through force of personality rather than looks, with even the most conventionally handsome, MrFanservice ones like Creator/PaulMcGann or Creator/DavidTennant being a bit funny-looking rather than generic {{Hunk}}s or {{Pretty Boy}}s. This is difficult to tell in fanart, however - it's not uncommon to see some shipper drawing [=Fourth Doctor/Sarah Jane=] fanart which does away with Creator/TomBaker's QuirkyCurls, big and oddly-shaped nose and CreepyBlueEyes, even though they are the most fondly appreciated physical features of the character. On the other hand, a lot of other artists exaggerate the physical quirks of the Doctors, though these ones are usually not doing it for shippy reasons.

** Fans who redo the characters in a more realistic style have a habit of drawing Finn as a slim, cute boy with EternallyPearlyWhiteTeeth, flowing blonde hair, and maybe a gap between two teeth or a missing one. In the show Finn is missing a good portion of his teeth, according to WordOfGod genuinely has [[TheNoseless no nose]], and is on the pudgy side.

** Even Miku, the legendary ambassador of all things {{moe}}, receives this. Never mind that they have Meiko, Luka and Haku, some fans will draw Miku with huge breasts.

** If a Vocaloid with no box art or no anime-influenced art needs to get a design from the fans, there's a 100 percent chance that they ''will'' turn out to be handsome/gorgeous. Leon can be anything from a a blonde haired PrettyBoy to a hairy {{Hunk}}, whereas someone like Sweet Ann would have her almost creepy box art appearance turned more generically pretty or in the style of the Crypton Vocaloids.

** "Classic Link" from the first two games gets a more {{bshonen}} look in fan art and loses his long, CleopatraNose. Even official works like ''VideoGame/HyruleWarriors'' soften him up.

** [ScienceHero Dexter]] and [[TheRival Mandark]] get a ton of this (despite being weird-looking in canon) in the fandom. Expect Dexter to become a cute shota and Mandark the definiton of NerdsAreSexy.

** The Hex Maniac trainer class in Generation VI is usually drawn with very large breasts despite her versus character art showing her with a much more moderate bust. [[YoureDrinkingBreastMilk This is most likely due to a vertain Hex Maniac who sells Moomoo milk to the player character in Pokemon X & Y.]]

Maybe it was [[PeripheryDemographic directed mostly at the opposite gender from some of its fans]]. Maybe the art style didn't really have enough GenericCuteness. Maybe the primary audience was children, so out of [[ParentService a few isolated instances]], making attractive characters wasn't really the primary goal of the series. Or maybe the original was a ''book'', so the appearances of the characters were mostly left up to the reader's imaginations. Whatever the case, the series finds itself without a [[MrFanservice Mr]] or MsFanservice other object of [[PerverseSexualLust fan lust]].
