* ''Manga/HunterXHunter'' does this very often, although the focus is put onto Gon and Killua by most of the arcs, while the supporting cast around them keeps changing. The Hunter Exam arc focuses on the principle four main characters Gon, Kurapika, Leorio and Killua who all participate in the aforementioned Hunter exam and become friends with each other, with Killua acting as an AloofAlly for most of the arc. The Zoldyck Family arc focuses on these four again, but from two different sides, with Gon, Kurapika and Leorio trying to get into the family estate in order to get Killua back, while Killua is within his family and is trying to convince them to let him go with his friends. The Heaven's Arena arc heavily focuses on Gon and Killua who are first learning about Nen, while Kurapika gets brief appearances elsewhere and Leorio is delegated to a cameo. The Yorkshin arc focuses on Kurapika as the central character, and Gon and Killua, accompanied by Leorio, are trying to find a copy of Greed Island while also aiding Kurapika in his fight with the Phantom Troupe. The Greed Island arc and Chimera Ant arc feature Gon and Killua as the only two main characters again. The Election arc has Killua as the central character trying to save Gon's life who is out of commission, while Leorio becomes a runner for the chairman election who is also trying to get help for Gon, with Kurapika only getting a single cameo once everything within that arc is resolved. The Dark Continent arc has Kurapika and Leorio join as new members of the Twelve Zodiacs and partake the journey to the Dark Continent, with Gon and Killua being out of the picture and only having brief appearances.

* ''VisualNovel/HigurashiWhenTheyCry'' changes protagonists every arc. The viewpoint, however, is almost always Keiichi, but he rarely remains as the focus of the narrative in the second half of the series (he stops being the point of view character for the first time a short arc before it, in fact).

* Later games in the ''VisualNovel/AceAttorney'' series rotate the role of lead attorney between Phoenix Wright and his protégées, Apollo Justice and Athena Cykes, sometimes within the same case. This is the character the case will tend to focus on and [[FirstPersonSmartass the one who will be doing the snarking]].
** A standalone example occurs in ''VisualNovel/GyakutenKenji2'' during the third case, which rotates between Miles Edgeworth solving an incident in the present day and [[spoiler: his late father, Gregory Edgeworth]] solving a connected incident 18 years prior.

* ''WesternAnimation/TeenTitans'': While ComicBook/{{Robin}} was the clear BadassNormal leader of the group, no one Titan really took on the role as the "main character". Rather, most episodes generally focused on the issues and progression [[DayInTheLimelight of a particular team member.]] It can roughly be said that each season is also focused on a particular Titan, with it having more episodes dedicated to a specific Titan than any other: Robin has Season 1, ComicBook/{{Cyborg}} has Season 3, ComicBook/{{Raven}} has Season 4, and ComicBook/Beast Boy has Season 5. ComicBook/{{Starfire}} is the only character to have her focus episodes more evenly spread out throughout the run, though WordOfGod states she would have gotten Season 6 had one happened.
