Epsilon may not be mad--he swings closer to WellIntentionedExtremist than some kind of OmnicidalManiac--but Psyche is wholly dedicated to the Rebellion and way too pleased to basically be a MadScientist stereotype, stunning lack fo ethics, empathy, and all.

* ''Franchise/{{Saw}}'': [[Characters/SawJigsawAndAccomplices Jigsaw Apprentice]] [[spoiler:Amanda Young]]. She's a former victim of Jigsaw who came to embrace his twisted ideology and views him as a father figure. She goes far beyond that, however, and corrupts his philosophy to flat out kill people with death traps.

Do not confuse with a character who supports a psycho; that's FriendToPsychos.

It's revealed that [[TheDogWasTheMastermind he was the one who tore open the rift in spacetime wreaking havoc]], as he conspired with [[SatanicArchetype Giratina]] to get Dialga & Palkia out of the way [[RageAgainstTheHeavens so he could capture Arceus]] and use its power to remake the world InTheirOwnImage. Half the reason Arceus made the player TheChosenOne was just to get him and Giratina two off its back.]]

* [[EvilDival Courtney Gears]] in ''VideoGame/RatchetAndClankUpYourArsenal'' is [[MadScientist Dr. Nefarious]]' most loyal supporter in regards to his role of robotic surpremacy and the absolute genocide of all organic life forms. However, she's far more psycho than he is, being a sadist who tortures people for fun, and is very much a sociopath.

* ''VisualNovel/Danganronpa2GoodbyeDespair'':
** [[spoiler: Nagito Komaeda]] idolizes the Ultimate students that are trapped on the island, and is willing to do anything to help them excel, even if it means sacrificing himself in the process. [[spoiler: Unfortunately, this also means setting up the first murder of the game, and then roping Hanamura into it [[UnwittingPawn without him realizing]]. With team leader Togami dead, he hoped to drive the rest to despair, only for them to regain their hope and overcome it in the end.]]
** One of the big twists of the game is that [[spoiler:all the characters (minus one) used to be minions of [[BigBad Junko Enoshima]]. They were all brainwashed into blindly following her ideals of spreading despair in the world and used their abilities to cause TheEndOfTheWorldAsWeKnowIt. They continued carrying out Junko's will even after she died, which is why they had their memories wiped for rehabilitation.]]

* ''Film/RepoTheGeneticOpera'' has the three Largo children for their father Rotti, and later, [[spoiler:Luigi and Pavi for Amber in her bid to get control of Gene Co.]] In both cases, the leader isn't really outright evil until you take into account that not only do they turn a blind eye to the activities of their supporters, they actively enable them. Pavi Largo is the creepiest example of this; he seems fairly well adjusted as far as scarred sex addicts go until the crazy comes out to play.
* ''Film/HappyGilmore'': Shooter [=McGavin=] is more than happy to use his borderline stalker as a weapon against Happy Gilmore, up to and including [[spoiler: running him down with a VW Beetle on a fairway]], so long as he can get away from him as fast as possible afterwards.

* ''Film/{{Downfall}}'' presents Magda Goebbels, wife of Joseph Goebbels, as one of the more fanatical believers in the tenets of National Socialism in the bunker, to the point of BlueAndOrangeMorality. She's arguably even ''more sociopathic'' than ''Hitler is''. In the end she [[OffingTheOffspring poisons all six of her children]] because she believes that it would be [[MercyKill merciful]] compared to allowing her children to grow up in a world where Jews and homosexuals are allowed to live.

* Bellatrix Lestrange, in ''Literature/HarryPotter''. WordOfGod states that "her true love was always Voldemort," but he had no discernible affection for her, merely using her loyalty.
** Likewise Barty Crouch Jr. and a few others who are truly {{Sycophantic Servant}}s and not in it for the power involved.
* The Vengeance in ''Literature/ATaleOfTwoCities''
* From the ''Literature/AlexRider'' series: Conrad, TheDragon of General Sarov. Sarov at least has a noble goal from his mindset. Conrad just wants to kill things.

* In ''Literature/TheWheelOfTime'' there is Masema, a fanatic devoted to serving [[MessianicArchetype the Dragon Reborn]], whether he wants it or not. He raises a rabble and mostly terrorizes the countryside. The Dragon makes some perfunctory efforts to get him under control, but in the end he has to be put down.

** When it comes to her successor, Punchline, there's no ambiguity at all: she's nuts. Having watched the Joker during his career, she decided as a college student [[OmnicidalManiac his worldview]] [[ForTheEvulz fit in nicely with her own,]] and she actively sought him out in order to join him (before murdering her dean to prove her loyalty). It's perhaps for the reason that she seems to have more of Joker's respect than Harley initially did.

** But then there's [[SinisterMinister Enrico Pucci]], probably the closest friend of DIO, and also the closest the vampire has ever been to [[HoYay a homosexual relationship]], the main antagonist of Stone Ocean, he has such an obsession with DIO, he's willing to [[spoiler:Achieve Heaven, a secret which was well-kept in DIO's diary, which of course he posseses, and RE-START THE ENTIRE UNIVERSE]], simply to see him again, he might be an insane priest, but he's one amazingly loyal friend.

* Harley Quinn from ''WesternAnimation/BatmanTheAnimatedSeries'' is an interesting take in the trope, because without someone to lead her, Harley doesn’t have the motivation to commit crimes. Unfortunately, [[MadLove her love for]] ComicBook/TheJoker [[MadLove keeps dragging her back to his side]].

** Poison Ivy also abuses Harley and doesn’t want to give her enough credit for her part at their heists.

* In ''Anime/CodeGeass'', Diethard Reid, a TV producer who joins LaResistance not because he agrees with them, but because they're ''epic''. Rolo and V.V. -- murderous {{yandere}} -- count, too.
** Now now, lets be fair. Diethard was also bored at the time.
*** As Diethard explains in the second season, he hates the way the world has gotten and simply wants it to change, [[spoiler:meaning he'll latch onto whoever can change it. When Lelouch/Zero is chased out of the Black Knights, Diethard gloms onto Schneizel with the same fanatical devotion, which causes his death when he pulls a gun on Lelouch and is shot by a Geassed Schneizel.]]

So: Jordan says why he supports Yamah, and Yamah reacts to this by thinking he's a lunatic, so he thinks Jordan supports him because Jordan is nuts.

* Jordan in ''WebComic/TowerOfGod'' to Baylord Yama... at least in Yama's own opinion at one point. Jordan expresses enthusiastic support to Yama even after hearing his dark secret, which Yama expected might turn him against him. ** Actually, Colonel may fall under TooDumbToLive. See, the entire conflict started when Colonel refuses to surrender and come in for questioning so an investigation as to why Repliforce robots were seen at Sky Lagoon (which had been crashed into a city by Mavericks, leading to untold amounts of devastation). The reason this is TooDumbToLive is because X/Zero flat-out state to him (not an exaggeration; I cannot stress enough that it is said to his face) that if he does not come in, the officials will have no choice but to assume Repliforce crashed Sky Lagoon and declare them Mavericks. And Colonel states that [[HonorBeforeReason his pride is more important]], leading to his death, his sister's death, his army's death, and his leader's death. Great going, Colonel.
* Used straight in ''VideoGame/MegaManX5'': Our introduction to Dynamo has him begging Sigma to be allowed to let an orbiting colony crash to Earth, so he can draw out the top Maverick Hunters for a fight. As far as we know, that is his only excuse for teaming up with Sigma (he doesn't even show up in Sigma's fortress at the end, like the ally/patsy typically does).

* Nouhime in ''VideoGame/SengokuBasara'' is an example of this. She is unquestionably loyal to her husband UsefulNotes/OdaNobunaga, but the said husband pretty much didn't care, just enjoying being the BigBad.
** In the third game, Ishida Mitsunari was this for Hideyoshi, despite not showing up in the second game. Upon his lord's defeat he goes on an AxCrazy RoaringRampageOfRevenge against Tokugawa Ieyasu. Mitsunari all but worships the man as a god.

* Pellegri to Margulis in ''VideoGame/{{Xenosaga}}'', though she occasionally proves more conscienable than he is. Still, the crazy is strong in this one, which becomes particularly apparent on Michtam.

In real-life situations, they will usually be seen as a liability to the movement they support, and will constantly be told to StopBeingStereotypical.

A psycho supporter follows someone else's beliefs simply because the supporter is ''nuts''.

May also intersect with the {{Yandere}}, LadyMacbeth, and OverzealousUnderling. A lot of Psycho Supporters also suffer from MadLove or the SubordinateExcuse if they're ''really'' devoted to the leader in question. Contrast PoisonousFriend, who appears to be totally inline with someone while trying to do things in their name they would not approve out of view, and StepfordSmiler, whose devotion may be an act.
