The lions are shown to be friends with their prey but there's little animosity or fear between the animals. This creates CarnivoreConfusion in ''WesternAnimation/TheLionGuard'' as Kion and his friends regularly "save" prey from their predators.
* In ''WesternAnimation/{{Madagascar}}'', Alex the lion is the best friend of Marty the zebra, Gloria the hippo, and Melman the giraffe. Being a zoo animal, Alex has no idea where steaks come from-- and when they are released to the wild, he is shocked to find out that his friends are his natural prey.

* ''WesternAnimation/{{Zootopia}}'' takes place in WorldOfFunnyAnimals. It's been thousands of years since predators have hunted prey, however there is still a fear between herbivores and carnivores/omnivores. The main tension of the film is the FantasticRacism between the animals. The two leads, Judy and Nick, are a rabbit and a fox respectively who end up becoming friends over the course of the film.

* ''Webcomic/IWillSurvive'' is a ''Zootopia'' fan-comic where Judy (rabbit) and Nick (fox) are in an InterspeciesRomance. Their happy relationship is ruined when Judy ends up unexpectedly pregnant. No prey/predator children have ever been born, so Judy is worried that she'll give birth to a freak, the baby will be too big for her body to come to term, or it'll end up bullied when it's older. As a result of that, amongst other doubts, she doesn't want to keep it. Nick rejects her want to terminate the pregnancy. This leads to them splitting up.
